The Crystals - 61 Lack of participants?!
“Hurry up, Zohaifa. We have to reach beforehand. You are perhaps the only one who is yet to obtain a ticket,” Lazuli said waiting at the gate while Zohaifa was struggling to tie his shoe laces hopping on one leg.
“Why didn’t you purchase one for me yet?”
“We don’t have sufficient knowledge about you to stuff up the form. I wished to write that randomly but Lapis will possibly become furious if he happens to learn that.”
“Thank you for this suit by the way,” said Zohaifa.
It was a white suit which is so smooth and solid that it looked plastic. But in fact it was elastic and springly. It faintly reflected light like an old glass bottle. Its fashion was like an unvented sleeveless tail coat having mandarian collar with a red sash belt around his waistline. The whole suit was decorated with red lining. He was also provided a full sleeve jumper to wear inside composed of the same substances but less thicker.
“It is flexible and shock absorbing. It won’t provide you too much defense but something is better than nothing. Plus it will hand over more opportunity of movement,” Lazuli explained.
“Yes, I can understand that. But why did you gift me a white colored suit? My favorite color is blue.”
“How do you expect me to have the knowledge regarding your favourite color? I gave you a white dress since it was cheap…err… I mean because your lightning is white.”
They reached the tournament arena as they walked and talked. There was an elevated tiled platform in the middle of a field for the participants to fight. It was surrounded by seats for the audience. But they needed to go to the participant’s place to buy tickets first.
“Why do we possess only six members here? Wasn’t 64 forms bought for the tournament,” echoed an angry voice across the room.
A person in formal dress, looking like some sort of assistant, nervously answered, “Sir, after people got to know that Lazuli would enter the tournament, they took back their form.”
“What? So coward of them. They consider themselves warriors?”
“Excuse me. I would like to join too,” interrupted Zohaifa.
“See? Even a kid dares to do so. We need to show something to the audience,” said that angry organizer.
“umm…Boss, he is Lazuli’s student, so he can enter without fear of injury,” the assistant added.
“Whatever. I just need more members. Go fill out the form boy.”
Zohaifa went to the assistant.
“What is your name?”
“Zohaifa”
“Age?”
“Can’t you guess?”
“No.”
“Come on, give it a try.”
“Please be serious.”
“Okay, okay, I am 15.”
“Profession?”
“Do I look like professional?”
“Student then. Can you prove that you are a martial artist?”
“I trained under Lazuli herself.”
“Sir, where is your referral person?”
“Wait, let me ask Lazuli.”
“Sure, Sir.”
“But we still need one more!” the organizer shouted, “We are embarrassing ourselves in front of Hagan.”
