The Daily Life Of The Scum - Chapter 70 Day 69
(Note: *a villain to be defeated by the protagonist in a game or story.)
“Does this makes sense to you?” Luo Shi asked, panting, as they all slid back.
“Obviously, no…” Ming Ye answered and wiped the blood off the corner of his mouth.
They all already finished off half of the modified bodies’ forces, yet more keep coming.
“Where and when in the hell did you made them?” Mu Xin asked his father, referring to the modified corpses.
“You’re still young so you still are just but a nave man.” Mu Jie said and shrugged. “To have this many puppets… of course ” he said and looked at his son. ” it should’ve been a long time.” He said and smiled.
Mu Xin’s eyes went wide. “You don’t mean…” he said, his face pale. “8 years ago…?” he asked.
The others looked at him in shock. “What?! 8 years ago?!” they said and looked at Mu Jie. “That’s when his…” they said, referring to when Mu Jie lost control of his powers.
“Yes.” Mu Jie answered. “In order to feed myself of malevolent energy, I modified bodies. But, I didn’t intend to make them…” he said, smiling. “I just came upon on them.” He explained.
Mu Xin gritted his teeth, mad.
“Hey. What’s he saying?” Luo Shi asked. “‘came upon’?” he asked.
Mu Jie turned to them. “Of course.” He said. “Since the process to modify bodies…” he said.
“Stop.” Mu Xin said, his whole body shaking.
The others looked at him.
Mu Jie grinned. “It’s long been passed down to our family.” He said.
Their eyes went wide.
As if not enough, he added. “It came from our ancestor Mu Jun, the founder of the sect. He…” he said. “… left us this present.” He explained.
“How…?” they asked, shocked. “Why…?”
Mu Jie just smiled and didn’t answer.
“Mu Jun…” Mu Xin said. “… it is his message left to us, the next generations.” He said.
They all looked at him.
“I don’t know why he wants us to create a modified body, but ” he said and glared at his father. ” one is enough.” He told him, then his eyes narrowed as he looked at the countless modified bodies behind Mu Jie.
“Yes, yes.” Mu Jie said, waving his hand, disinterested. “Your grandfather also said that…” he said, frowning.
Mu Xin balled his fists, his eyes full of loathing as he looks at his father.
“Xin…” Chen Shen called his lover, his eyes full of understanding and sympathy.
Mu Jie just smirked. “Now, now…” he said as he raised his hands. “Shall we continue where we left off?” he asked and his eyes narrowed, full of mirth as he looked at them all.
He waved down his hand and the modified bodies ran towards Mu Xin and the group.
“Shit ” they cursed as they braced themselves for the impact.
The third wave of this battle… is an uphill battle.
Newfound Land.
“Damn it – !” Wen Yan cursed as he blocked Li Shan’s foot with his arm when Li Shan kicked him. He slid back to Lei Ling who’s healing the unconscious Chen Han and Fei Yin.
“Heads up.” Wu Bai said behind Wen Yan.
Wen Yan’s eyes went wide and bent down in reflex just as something went past his head and kicked Li Shan’s foot back.
“Ugh – !” Wen Yan cried when he was blown away as a strong gust of wind come out with two feet against each other.
“Argh !” the others exclaimed and covered themselves.
“Wu Bai – !” Feng Mo called, looking at Wu Bai who’s holding his ground against Li Shan.
Wu Bai sprang up on his other feet and turned in the air as he kicked Li Shan’s head.
“Tsk – !” Li Shan clicked his tongue as he blocked himself with his arm. He slid back.
Wu Bai jumped back and landed in front of Feng Mo and the others.
“Wu Bai – !” Feng Mo called, looking at his tutor in all white standing in front of him.
“Who the hell is he…” Li Tian muttered under his breath, looking at Wu Bai.
“… something’s not right with him.” Wu Yuan said, looking at Wu Bai. “He’s not my uncle.” He added.
The others looked at him in shock.
“… you’re from BaiLong, too.” Li Shan said as he brushed off the dust on his sleeve where Wu Bai kicked him earlier.
“What?!” the others said, shocked, as they looked at Wu Bai.
Wu Bai didn’t answer and just looked at Li Shan. “I won’t let you take our master.” He told him.
Their eyes went wide.
“… he’s really not my uncle.” Wu Yuan said.
Their face was covered in dark lines. Can’t he (Wu Yuan) care for the situation first rather than care for his runaway uncle? They thought.
Their face went serious and turned when Li Shan emitted his aura and covered his whole body with it.
“What an honor to fight with, and defeat a person from BaiLong.” Li Shan said and glared at Wu Bai as his aura got stronger.
“Ugh – !” Sun Yi, Wu Yuan, Li Tian and Wen Yan groaned as they covered themselves.
The debris are flying everywhere together with the broken roof and the wrecked walls.
“Wu Bai !” Feng Mo called when Wu Bai emitted a white energy and surrounded himself. “You can’t – !” he said.
“I have to.” Wu Bai answered. “I have to protect your and our master’s friends.” He said and turned to Feng Mo. He smiled.
Feng Mo’s eyes went wide. “No – !” he said when Wu Bai patted his head.
“Protect your friends, too ” Wu Bai said and looked at Sun Yi, Wu Yuan and Li Tian who are covered in wounds from their fight earlier against Li Shan. He turned and looked at Fei Yin and Chen Han who are unconscious. He turned to Feng Mo. “I’ll deal with him with all that I could.” He told him then turned to Li Shan just in time Li Shan lunged at him.
“Wu Bai – !” Feng Mo called and immediately covered himself and his friends with a barrier.
“Brother Feng, you…” Li Tian said, shocked, as he looked at Feng Mo.
“You’re also from BaiLong…?” Sun Yi asked.
But, there’s not time to answer. Li Shan raised his sword and stabbed Wu Bai. Wu Bai held the sword tightly and it broke.
“Aaaarrrghhh – !!!” they both shouted as their aura got stronger.
BOOM! An explosion erupted and blasted everything that’s around just as a bright light covered everything.
Somewhere in Newfound Land.
The four gentlemen are in a stalemate. Or should it say, only three.
“Err…” the gentleman beside the other that’s wearing black robes spoke. “Could you be…” he said, looking at Chen Sheng.
“Zhe. It’s obvious, isn’t it?” the black robed man, Yu Sheng, told Zu Zhe.
Zu Zhe frowned. “Not for me.” he said. “I didn’t see him back in the cave at YuLing.” He explained.
Yu Sheng’s brows raised, but didn’t answer. He turned to Chen Sheng, then smiled. He respectfully knelt and put his right hand on his left chest. “Your Highness.” He said.
Zu Zhe grimaced, don’t know how to react. He turned when he heard a soft thud on the other side.
His eyes went wide when he saw the veiled man earlier also knelt, facing Chen Sheng. “Wha…” he said, shocked.
“Prince Hou Sheng.” The veiled man called and respectfully bowed.
Chen Sheng stared at the two, then lowered his dimensional pocket he’s carrying. After a second, he threw it up.
Zu Zhe’s eyes went wide when a bright light flashed and covered the whole Newfound Land as thousands of talismans flew out of the pouch.
“Ngh – !” he cried and covered his eyes.
But, three gentlemen are in a stalemate.
“Rise.” Chen Sheng said, his voice full of authority.
Yu Sheng and the veiled man followed.
Yu Sheng turned and his eyes narrowed as he looked at the veiled man. “You troublemaker.” He said, gritting his teeth.
“Huh?” Zu Zhe said and turned to Yu Sheng who’s glaring at the veiled man. “What? What’s wrong?” he asked and looked at the veiled man.
Yu Sheng frowned. “He’s the reason why a rebellion took place in BaiLong.” He answered. “The people of BaiLong found out that the royal family is hiding him ” he said, his eyes narrowed and he balled his teeth. ” a demonic cultivator, bearing malevolent energy that could cover the whole BaiLong!” he said. “The man from HeiLong Mu Jun!” he said and glared at the veiled man.
“… what?!” Zu Zhe said, shocked. Is there such a plot hidden in my story?! He thought.
But, Chen Sheng’s serious face says it all there really is such a plot.
Demonic Land.
“Ugh…” Fei Huang groaned, holding his bleeding shoulder.
“Damn it.” Xie Lan cursed and held the unconscious Fang Wen with his uninjured arm.
“Ling! Ling!” Fei Lin called, tapping Xi Ling’s cheek when Xi Ling suddenly collapsed.
“Shen!” Mu Xin called.
“I’m… still fine…” Chen Shen said and winced in pain because of his broken left leg.
“Shi…” Ming Ye called to the half kneeling Luo Shi whose coughing blood. His arm is bleeding.
“Damn cheaters.” Luo Shi cursed, murderously glaring at the modified bodies which somewhat reduced in half.
Since Fang Wen had just had a breakthrough to Immortal Stage, his power is unstable. At first, it skyrocketed. But, since he kept using it against the modified bodies, he was pushed to his limit and fainted.
Xi Ling used the Soul Evicting Technique non stop, that’s why he’s in the same state as Fang Wen right now.
The others, on the other hand, are injured by barely managing to avoid their powers being sucked by the modified bodies. Surprisingly, the modified bodies know combat, too.
They’re really just like the cultivators, but just not alive.
“Mu Jie…” Mu Xin said, gritting his teeth as he glared at his father, full of loathing.
“No honorifics nor respect now?” Mu Jie asked.
Mu Xin didn’t answer.
“Right. You had neither of those in you.” He added.
Mu Xin balled his fists. “I’ll deal with him.” He told Fei Huang and the others.
“What?” they said.
“This problem had been started by us, anyway. It’s just right that I solve it my own.” Mu Xin said. “… I’m sorry for involving you with ngh.” He said when a palm landed on his cheek.
They all turned, wide eyed, when they saw the limping Chen Shen slapped Mu Xin.
“You – !” he said, panting. “We’re already involved, anyway, so why the hell are you spouting nonsense like this?!” he asked, mad, as he glared at the silent Mu Xin. “Instead, all you had to do is to apologize and make up for everybody after this mess!” he added, catching his breath. He cried when his leg hurt again.
Mu Xin caught him. “… sorry.” He told Chen Shen as he carefully let Chen Shen sit on the side.
Fei Huang and the others sighed. “Kids…” they muttered.
They all turned when a bright light flashed inside the barrier. Their eyes went wide when the malevolent energy that’s covering the barrier outside were all dissipated.
“Wha ” Mu Jie said, shocked. “That light!” he said, gritting his teeth as he glared at the light dispersing the malevolent energy until it vanished.
It was the same light 8 years ago.
The others stared at the now sturdy barrier, better than before.
“Sheng er…” Xie Lan muttered under his breath.
Silence fell upon them. Chen Sheng must have now ‘awaken’. The talismans he used before (8 years ago) and now is the same.
So his (Chen Sheng) hidden power really coated the talismans he’s making. He must’ve coating it subconsciously.
“Sheng… er…” Fang Wen muttered.
“Wen!” Xie Lan called as he saw Fang Wen now waking up.
“Ling!” Fei Lin called when Xi Ling’s now waking up, too.
“Huh?” Luo Shi said, looking at his injury.
“Shi, this is…” Ming Ye said when their wounds are healing. “Ah.” He said when the deep cut on his side is now healing, too.
They looked around and saw the talismans turned to bits of light, falling on them.
“Haa…” Fei Huang breathed and looked at his shoulder.
Among them, only his wound is slowly healing. It’s because he was struck with malevolent energy by Mu Jie earlier during his fight with him.
“Sect Leader Fei…” the others called, worried.
Fei Huang slowly closed his eyes. He could feel the malevolent energy coursing in his body. For Righteous cultivators like him, malevolent energy is a poison.
“Ugh.” He cried and felt his body being struck by thousand needles. “Ugh – !” he coughed blood.
“Sect Leader Fei – !” the others called.
Fei Huang gritted his teeth and murderously glared at Mu Jie as his body slowly fell to the ground. He has reached his limit.
“Feisty, as always.” A voice said.
Before Fei Huang could fall, somebody caught him and held him in their arms.
“Who – ?!” the others said, shocked.
They turned. Their eyes went wide when they saw the veiled man earlier. “Old Lao?!” they said, shocked.
But, he ignored them and turned to Fei Huang, who is in his arms.
“You’re late.” Fei Huang told him as he laid his head on the man’s chest.
“Mn. I’m here to make up for it.” He said.
Fei Huang looked at him. He smiled.
Before any of them could react, the man’s hat with veil fell as he bent down to Fei Huang and kissed him.
Their mouth fell open, shocked. As if not enough, they saw the malevolent energy in Fei Huang’s body went to the man.
“Who ” Mu Jie said, as shocked as the others. He turned when he saw the modified bodied growled and stepped back. “What ” he said.
“Mmn.” The man said and licked his lips after he took the malevolent energy from Fei Huang’s body.
Fei Huang fell on his arms, unconscious.
“Who are you?!” Mu Jie roared, pissed from the sudden change in situation.
The man turned to him, then smiled. “Don’t you recognize me?” he asked and smiled.
They all stared at his face. It was a man in his early thirties, his body lean and he’s exuding a noble aura.
“Who…?” Mu Jie said, still puzzled.
The man smiled. “Was it that long that I had left this land…?” he asked, then raised his hand.
Their eyes went wide when a strong burst of malevolent energy come out of the man’s hand and hit Mu Jie.
“Argh – !” Mu Jie cried when he was flown away.
“Seems like it isn’t enough for you to recognize me…” the man said, then sighed. “Then, I’ll say it.” He said and turned to the others. “Everyone… I apologize for what my sect has caused you.” He told them and smiled.
A few second passed before they all realized it.
“That can’t be…” Mu Xin said, wide eyed. “You… you’re Mu Jun?!” he said, shocked.
“That’s right.” a voice said behind them.
They all turned. Their eyes went wide when they saw two gentlemen walking towards them.
“Sheng ge!” Xi Ling exclaimed when he saw Yu Sheng.
Yu Sheng turned to him and smiled. “Ling ling.” He said, then turned to Fei Lin. “Young master… ah, no. It should be ‘Grandmaster Fei’ now, right?” he asked and grinned.
Fei Lin just laughed.
They all turned and their face went serious when they saw the man behind Yu Sheng. “That’s…” they said. “Who’s that?” they asked, looking at Zu Zhe.
Dark lines covered Zu Zhe’s face. I’m the one who created you all, you know? He thought, then sighed.
Yu Sheng laughed.
The author (and Zu Zhe) has something to say:
Gray Dragon: Zhe is, and will always be, the straight man of this story. 😀
