“You wish.” Fei Yin answered, frowning.

“Even after 15 years of not hearing this beautiful voice?” the voice asked.

Fei Yin’s frown went deeper. “Cut the crap. I’m not interested in your excuses.” He told it. “Bring me back now. I need to save Sheng.” He told it.

But, nothing happened.

“Hey!” he called, but still nothing happened.

After a while, the voice spoke. “I cannot do that.” The voice of the system answered.

Yes. It was the voice of the system. It finally came back after being ‘missing’ for 15 years. As to why…

“Why?” Fei Yin asked. “I need to go and save Sheng now ” he told it.

“And I said you can’t.” the voice said. Before Fei Yin could speak, the voice added. “You’ll gonna die if you’re going.” He told it.

Fei Yin’s eyes went wide, shocked. “What?!” he asked, dumbfounded. “Why?! What’s going to happen to Sheng – ?!” he asked.

But, the voice didn’t answer.

“Brother Fei! Brother Fei!” Li Tian called and sighed when Fei Yin still didn’t answer.

“What’re we gonna do now…?” Lei Ling asked, worried.

Sun Yi turned to him. “You stay here and look after your brother.” He told Lei Ling and looked at the stupefied Fei Yin.

“What happened to Senior Brother Fei?” Lei Ling asked, worried.

Sun Yi shook his head. He then turned to Wen Yan. “You go watch over them.” He told him and nodded as he turned to the others. “The rest, we’ll continue head south!” he told them, referring to the Demonic Land.

“Yes!” they answered and bowed.

Out of 9 of them, now there’re only 4 of them left Sun Yi, Wu Yuan, Li Tian and Chen Han.

I just hope nothing more happens… Sun Yi thought as they looked ahead, the Demonic Land is finally in sight.

Their heart leapt as they ran faster. But, their joy is bound to vanish because of the sight they’ll see.

“Uncle…?” Li Tian called, wide-eyed, as he stared at Li Shan lying in front of Mu Jie.

Li Shan’s bathed in blood and the malevolent energy, controlled by Mu Jie, is slowly eating him.

“Uncle – !” Li Tian’s voice rang around the Demonic Land, waking up everyone around. He ran towards Li Shan.

“Damn it – !” Xie Lan cursed.

“Tian er!” Fang Wen called.

“Tian – !” Chen Han called and tried to stop Li Tian but Li Tian already ran away.

“That idiot – !” Chen Shen said, mad.

“Stop – !” Mu Xin called, horrified.

“Young Li – !” Ming Ye called.

“Shit ” Luo Shi cursed under his breath.

“Li Tian – !” Xi Ling called.

“Stop!” Fei Lin called, worried.

They all know how strong the person living inside Mu Jie Mu Xie, because of the malevolent energy he gathered earlier that none malevolent energy is left in the Demonic Land.

“Junior Brother Li !” Sun Yi screamed.

Wu Yuan’s holding Sun Yi when Sun Yi tried to ran after Li Tian.

“TIAN!!!” Chen Han called and ran after Li Tian. He can’t use his sword because it was broken by Li Shan earlier.

Yu Sheng’s face is serious as he watch the scene. Zu Zhe’s typing the happenings on his holographic keyboard. Mu Jun is still holding the unconscious Fei Huang.

“UNCLE!” Li Tian screamed as he reached Li Shan and Mu Jie.

“Tian – !” Chen Han called, reaching out to Li Tian.

Everybody held their breath and everything went in a slow motion as Mu Jie turned, grinning to Li Tian who jumped in to take his uncle’s body.

Chen Han watched, horrified, as Mu Jie raised his hand to stab Li Tian’s heart. “NO – !” he screamed as he jumped towards Li Tian to block Mu Jie.

But, before he could, somebody pushed them two, together with Li Shan, and blocked Mu Jie.

Their eyes went wide, gaping, as they looked at Mu Jie’s hand pierced through Chen Sheng’s chest.

Yu Sheng and Mu Jun stared at Chen Sheng, horrified.

“Your Highness!” Yu Sheng screamed, raged. Even Zu Zhe froze as he stared, wide-eyed, at the scene.

“Prince Hou Sheng!” Mu Jun cried and gritted his teeth. He can’t carelessly move since Fei Huang is still recuperating. “Prince Hou Sheng!” he called.

“Sheng er…” Fang Wen said, shaking, as he looked at his disciple. Xie Lan hugged him when he collapsed.

“Chen Sheng…” Chen Shen muttered under his breath, shocked.

“Younger Chen…” Ming Ye said. Luo Shi’s shocked speechless.

“Chen Sheng…” Fei Lin muttered under his breath.

They all can’t move earlier because of the still present malevolent energy that is controlled by the person inside Mu Jie. That is why they can’t move to stop Li Tian.

Chen Han, along with Sun Yi and Wu Yuan, who just arrived are the only ones who could move. Along with the people of BaiLong Continent Yu Sheng, Zu Zhe (uh, he’s not? XD), and Chen Sheng.

“Ah Sheng!” Chen Han’s scream rang around them making them all woke from shock.

Li Tian fell on top of Chen Han. “Brother Chen…” he called, disoriented as he turned to Chen Sheng. His eyed went wide, horrified, when he saw Chen Sheng was stabbed by Mu Jie. “Brother Chen!!!” he screamed.

Li Shan’s body is lying beside the two.

“Junior Brother Chen!” Sun Yi cried, his tears falling in his face.

“Sheng er!” Fang Wen screamed as he fell on his knees.

Xie Lan caught him. Xie Lan’s eyes are glowing as he glared at Mu Jie.

“Younger Chen…” Ming Ye said, shaking. Luo Shi’s face is pale in shock.

“Chen Sheng…” Fei Lin and Chen Shen called, dumbfounded.

Mu Xin and Xi Ling are horrified.

“Your Highness!!!” Yu Sheng called.

“Prince Hou Sheng!!!” Mu Jun called.

Mu Xie, the one inside and controlling Mu Jie, grinned. “My elder brother (Mu Jun) went to your realm to cure me and my wife and my kid…” he said as he looked at his hand that pierced through Chen Sheng’s body. “But, he never returned. Maybe that’s because of you…?” he asked and smiled as he withdrew his hand.

Blood splattered in the air and a hole is vividly seen in Chen Sheng’s chest.

“Chen Sheng!”

“Sheng er!”

“Junior Brother Chen!”

“Younger Chen!”

“Ah Sheng!”

“Your Highness!”

“Prince Hou Sheng!”

“Senior Brother Chen…?” Lei Ling, who just arrived together with Wen Yan who’s carrying the still unconscious Fei Yin, said. He stared, horrified, to Chen Sheng. “Senior Brother Chen!” he called, crying.

Chen Sheng didn’t answer and his eyes fell on the unconscious Fei Yin who’s carried by Wen Yan on his shoulder.

“Oh? You’re still alive?” Mu Xie asked, grinning, when he saw Chen Sheng moved, though slightly.

Blood drips down from his mouth and the hole on his chest.

“Sheng er…” Fang Wen called, crying.

“Ah Sheng…!” Chen Han called, can’t move because of the impact when Chen Sheng immediately pushed them away earlier.

“Senior Brother Chen…” Lei Ling called as he fell on his knees.

“Junior Brother Chen…” Sun Yi said and cried on Wu Yuan’s chest.

“Chen Sheng…” Chen Shen called, tears streaming down his face.

“Younger Chen…” Ming Ye called.

“Chen Sheng…” Xi Ling called.

“Your… Highness…” Yu Sheng said, shocked.

“Prince Hou Sheng…” Mu Jun said and lowered his head as he balled his fists. He caused harm to the prince again.

“Brother Chen… Brother Chen – !” Li Tian called and tried to move but he can’t. He sobbed. Because of him, Chen Sheng was hurt. “Brother Chen!” he called.

“Master…” Feng Mo, who just arrived, said. “Master!” he called as he carries the unconscious Wu Bai on his shoulder. “Master!” he cried as he fell on his knees when he saw the hole on his master’s chest.

Just when they finally see their master again, this is what will greet them?

Amidst the chaos, a low and melancholic voice spoke.

“Password: Hou Sheng.” Zu Zhe said as he looked at the scene.

“You called, zu zhe (author)?” the voice of the system said.

“Activate his power.” Zu Zhe told the voice.

“… I’m still busy.” The voice said. “I still have someone I ”

Zu Zhe cut him off. “Fuck!” he cursed. “This world will collapse if Hou Sheng dies!” he hissed. “The story’s protagonist may be Fei Yin, but that’s in the original story!” he said, mad. “This story’s protagonist now is Chen Sheng… Hou Sheng!!!” he snapped at it.

“Whoa, whoa…” the voice said. “Calm down. Calm down.” It told him.

Zu Zhe frowned, catching his breath.

“Well, even if you won’t say it, but I’m really going to awaken Hou Sheng.” The voice said.

Zu Zhe’s forehead knotted. “What do you mean?” he asked.

“Well, I, uh, I’m in a bind… you’ll know it soon.” The voice told him and vanished.

Zu Zhe turned and looked at Chen Sheng. Everybody’s eyes went wide when the hole on Chen Sheng’s chest is disappearing.

“Are you done?” Chen Sheng asked, his voice low.

Everybody gasped, their face was lit with hope. Chen Sheng is alive.

Mu Xie looked at him.

Their eyes went wide when Mu Xie grabbed Chen Sheng’s neck. “No – !” they said and was about to move when their feet was stuck on the ground.

Even Feng Mo, Wu Bai, Yu Sheng and Mu Jun can’t move. Including Chen Sheng.

“So even when I planted a hole on you, you won’t die.” Mu Xie said, glaring at Chen Sheng as he raised him in the air. “This must be the modified body my elder brother gave Jie-er in secret.” He said and grinned. He looked at Mu Jun. “I know. I know you’re back in HuiLong. That’s why I kept quiet and watched if you really had found the way to cure me. So this is your answer.” He said and looked at Chen Sheng that’s inside the modified body. “To embed our soul in a puppet. Not bad.” He said and grinned. “Then ” he said as he lowered Chen Sheng and let go of him.

“Ah Sheng!”

“Brother Chen!”

“Your Highness!”

“Sheng er!”

“Senior/Junior Brother Chen!”

“Chen Sheng!”

Mu Xie looked at them all. “Even just a fragile soul, everybody still cares for you.” He said and looked at Chen Sheng. He frowned when he saw no reaction from Chen Sheng. “Acting tough, huh?” he said and grabbed Chen Sheng’s hair.

“No – !” they all cried, gritting their teeth as they glared at Mu Xie.

“Mu Xie.” Mu Jun called. “That’s enough. Let go of him.” he told Mu Xie. “I’m the one you’re mad at. The poor child’s got nothing to do with this.” he explained.

Mu Xie looked at him. “You’re right.” He said. “I possessed my own son just to live this long. To see you.” He said and threw Chen Sheng.

“Brother Chen!” Li Tian called when Chen Sheng landed not far from them. “Uncle…” he said when he saw Li Shan. His tears fell as he bit his lip. “Brother Chen!” he called as he looked at Chen Sheng that’s not moving on the ground.

“Ah Sheng!” Chen Han called.

“Sheng er!” Fang Wen and Xie Lan called.

“Senior/Junior Brother Chen!” Lei Ling and Sun Yi called.

“Master!” Feng Mo called, holding Wu Bai.

“Chen Sheng!” Chen Shen, Fei Lin and Xi Ling called.

“Younger Chen…” Ming Ye and Luo Shi called.

“Grandfather…” Mu Xin muttered, hate in his eyes as he glared at Mu Xie. “Where is my father?” he asked. “It’s you I’ve been hated all along, not my father.” He added.

Mu Xie turned to him. “Yes.” He said. “Even if I created these modified bodies… they really don’t suit my taste.” He said and waved his hand.

Their eyes went wide when all the modified bodies fell, the qi in their body rot when the malevolent energy touched them.

They looked away.

“Being drowned in malevolent energy for so many years… I’ve grown addicted to it and loathed the pure energy (qi) I’ve longed in the past.” Mu Xie said. “And so, I planned to possess my son’s body that’s rich in energy the moment I’d die. I poisoned his mind to make him fall in Qi Deviation. But ” he said and frowned. ” I didn’t expect he’d fall to Qi Deviation so fast. His mental state is very weak. And so ” he said and looked at their shocked faces, finally met the one behind these all. ” I destroyed my body and seized my son’s body with my soul.” He said. “Yes. The malevolent energy 8 years ago was from my body, not Jie er’s.” he told them.

“It’s… you…” Li Tian said, struggling. “You… hurt my uncle…” he said. “And… my family ” he said and glared at Mu Xie, full of hate.

Mu Xie turned to him. “Ah. The next master of the Li’s. Too bad, your family’s gone now. They were fine demonic cultivators, too. But, they’re too strong and they’d get in my way, and so I disposed them.” He said.

“He…” they all said, shocked.

Mu Xie’s the one who killed Li Tian’s family, not Mu Jie.

“So Shan-er saved you, knowing that I’ll dispose of him soon, too. He saved you so that the Li bloodline could live. Ah… that’s a great decision, Shan-er.” Mu Xie said and smiled at the corpse of Li Shan. “Don’t worry. As a compensation, you’ll see Jie-er soon.” He told Li Shan, smiling.

“What do you mean?” Mu Xin asked.

Mu Xie turned to him. “The father’s mind is weak, while the son’s is slow. Haaa…” he sighed and shook his head. “I’m so right to choose to live longer. Our race (demonic cultivators) will end in your generation.” He told Mu Xin. “Your father died just earlier.” He told him.

Mu Xin’s eyes went wide, shocked. “What…?” he said. His body shook and he fell on his knees.

“Xin!” Chen Shen called and caught him.

“Young Master Xin!” Wen Yan called as he brought Lei Ling and the unconscious Fei Yin. “Young Master.” He called to the shocked and pale Mu Xin.

“Xin… Xin – !” Chen Shen called.

“Ahahahaha…” Mu Xie laughed. “Just why is my family all are useless…?” he muttered and sighed.

“Mu Xie.” Mu Jun called. “Kill me. I’m the cause of your hatred.” He told him.

Mu Xie turned to him, his eyes cold and glowing. “As you wish ” he said and raised his hand. ” elder brother.” He said as a strong malevolent energy gathered in his hand.

“What’s happening?!” Fei Yin asked the voice of the system when he felt his skin tingled.

The voice sighed. “Fine.” it said. “You can now wake up. I really thought you’re the protagonist… haa…” it sighed again. “Damn that zu zhe (author). I knew he’d take revenge on me ” it muttered.

“What are you babbling about?” Fei Yin asked, pissed. “Take me out of here now and return me. I have to save Sheng – !” he told the voice.

“There’s no need to rush.” The voice said and sighed once again.

Fei Yin sighed, relieved. He was about to speak when he heard a voice speak.

“Latent power. Activate.” A voice said.

The voice of the system? He thought. No. It’s not.

Fei Yin blinked. The moment he opened his eyes, a blinding light greeted him.

“Wha ” he said and covered his eyes. “What the hell happened – ?!” he asked.

“Senior Brother Fei?!” it was Lei Ling. “Senior Brother Fei, you’re awake – !” he said.

“Yes. What the hell happened?!” Fei Yin asked and sat up, his arm still covering his eyes because of the blinding light. He saw his brother and the other elders are taking cover, too.

“It’s… ugh – !” Lei Ling groaned and covered himself when a strong gust of wind blew, almost blowing them all away.

Fei Yin turned when he saw a shadow. It was malevolent energy. “What the…” he muttered, shocked, as he turned and saw a rich, condensed air pitting against the malevolent energy.

It was a battle of the gods of good and evil.
