The Daily Life Of The Scum - Chapter 75 Day 74
Newfound Sect
“Shifu.” Li Tian called and served Fang Wen, who’s sitting on the porch, tea.
“Thank you.” Fang Wen said and took the tea.
Li Tian sat beside Fang Wen and they watched as the fish jumped out of the pond.
Silence fell.
“Ah!” it was Lei Ling. “Senior Brother Li! You’re no fair! You’re alone with shifu!” he said and pouted as he sat on the other side of Fang Wen.
“Senior Brother Lei! How many more are we gonna make?” the disciples asked at the end of the hallway.
“500!” Lei Ling answered.
“Eh…?!” they said, then sighed. They left, their shoulder fell.
Lei Ling laughed while Li Tian and Fang Wen smiled.
“You’re becoming more and more crooked as a senior brother.” Li Tian commented.
Lei Ling giggled. “Of course! Senior Brother Chen is ” he said, then stopped.
The smile on their face froze. Silence fell.
“How are they, you think?” Fang Wen asked after a while.
The two didn’t answer. Fang Wen sighed as he put down his cup.
It’s been months since the battle against Mu Jie happened. Many things were uncovered during the battle. Many things were also confirmed.
For example, the mythical continent BaiLong, as well as HeiLong.
Months ago Demonic Land.
“Yi-er. Yuan-er.” Luo Shi called to his disciples. “Go head back first to the sect. Tell Han-er to use the teleportation array.” He told them.
“But ” Sun Yi said.
“We will.” Wu Yuan said and pulled his lover away.
“Yuan!” Sun Yi said, struggling. “We still don’t know how they’ll deal with Junior Brother Chen – !” he said, but Wu Yuan already pulled him away.
Silence fell to the gentlemen left.
“What is your plan, Junior Brother Xie?” Ming Ye asked the silent Xie Lan.
Fang Wen looked at Xie Lan, his eyes full of worry. “Lan…” he called.
Xie Lan turned to him, then smiled. He patted Fang Wen’s head as he turned to the others. “No matter who he is, Sheng er is still a Newfound Sect disciple.” He answered. “Whether he wanted to come back or not… we respect his decision.” he told them.
Fang Wen sighed, relieved. They all looked at each other, then smiled.
“Uh, sorry to break your party, but ” Yu Sheng said.
They turned to him.
“I may have said His Highness will be staying here, but not for long.” He told them.
“As I’ve just said, staying or leaving… it’ll be on Sheng -er’s hands.” Xie Lan said and frowned at Yu Sheng.
Yu Sheng frowned back. These two… they’re somewhat similar. Everybody thought. A sudden realization then hit them.
“Ah.” Ming Ye said, turning to Yu Sheng. “Since you also studied in the Upright Sect… you’re our junior brother.” He said and smiled.
The frown on Yu Sheng’s face deepened.
“Sheng-ge…” Xi Ling called.
Yu Sheng looked at him, then forced a smile. “Don’t worry. We’re really be staying here a little longer.” He told him. “His Highness needs to rest more.” He said.
Xi Ling nodded. Yu Sheng turned to Mu Jun. Mu Jun didn’t answer. Yu Sheng’s eyes narrowed, remembered what Mu Jun told him.
The rebellion in BaiLong happened a hundred years ago. But, that’s not what Yu Sheng remembered. Also, Mu Jun told him he ‘truly woke up’ 15 years ago, the same time the tragedy happened in YuLing Village.
Just what the hell is the meaning of all these? Seems like their problem is still ongoing.
“Mo-er.” Fang Wen called to the silent Feng Mo who’s standing beside Wu Bai.
They’re standing by Yu Sheng’s side.
“Are you… from BaiLong, too?” he asked.
Though he already has an idea, but he wanted to hear it from his disciple.
“… yes…” Feng Mo answered and lowered his head.
Pain crossed in Fang Wen’s eyes.
“Wen. Calm down.” Xie Lan said and held Fang Wen’s hand tight. “Mo-er.” He called.
“Yes?” Feng Mo answered, not daring to look up.
“Are you leaving with them?” he asked.
“… yes.” He answered, then deeply bowed. “I’m really sorry, founder.” He said and sobbed.
Xie Lan sighed. Fang Wen looked away, tears forming in his eyes. He saw the silent Lei Ling and ran towards his remaining disciple aside from Li Tian.
“Shifu…” Lei Ling said and sighed when Fang Wen cried as he hugged his ‘child’.
“Yin er…” Fang Wen called when he saw Fei Yin, whose as silent as a mountain as he stood beside his elder brother.
“Shifu…” Fei Yin called as he walked towards the Newfound Sect side.
Only Fang Wen’s cries can be heard in the silent, desolate land.
“I still can’t believe Senior Brother Chen is…” Lei Ling said after a while. “I mean, sure, he has that air around him. But… I thought that’s just because Senior Brother Chen’s a scum.” he explained.
Li Tian and Fang Wen grimaced. Is this the right way to talk to someone you admire while they’re gone? They thought, didn’t comment.
“I’m also worried about Mu Jun.” Li Tian said.
They looked at him.
“He seems nice. That’s why I was shocked to know that he… caused Brother Chen’s body to be frail, and caused trouble to Brother Chen again.” he said. “But… I think it’s the situation’s fault, not his.” He added.
The two looked at him. Yes. It’s the situation’s fault. They thought. Like what happened to Li Tian.
“Is the Demonic Sect going to be gone?” Lei Ling asked.
Li Tian and Fang Wen suddenly grimaced. “With the Chen family, Mu Xin’s…” they said, then sighed.
“Hm? Why? What’s wrong with the Chen family?” Lei Ling asked, then looked at Li Tian.
Li Tian grimaced. Fang Wen laughed. Li Tian is married to Chen Han.
“That…” Li Tian said, then sighed. “The Chen family won’t wipe out the Demonic Sect. In fact ” he said and held his aching head. ” they’ll wrap them around their fingers.” He said.
Lei Ling’s eyes went wide while Fang Wen laughed. The Chen family will really do that.
“O oh…” Lei Ling just said. “Right. How about the remaining demonic cultivator Mu Jun?” he asked.
There’s no need to ask about Wen Yan since, being in love with Lei Ling, he signed under the logo of the Newfound Sect saying he’ll be their footman. This is a better choice than staying with the Chen family where his master, Mu Xin, is.
“Mu Jun…” Fang Wen said.
“You all saw the Upright Sect took him, right?” Xie Lan, standing behind them, said.
They turned.
“Founder!” Li Tian and Lei Ling exclaimed.
“Lan.” Fang Wen said and smiled. “When did you come back?” he asked.
“Just now.” Xie Lan answered. He hugged Fang Wen from behind and kissed him.
Lei Ling’s eyes went wide and his cheeks burned while Li Tian just chuckled, shaking his head.
“How did the meeting go?” Fang Wen asked after their kiss.
Lei Ling immediately scooted away for Xie Lan to sit beside Fang Wen.
“If only you’re there.” Xie Lan said as he lied his head down on Fang Wen’s lap. “The whole Upright Sect’s in an uproar.” He told him.
Fang Wen’s brows raised. “Why?” he asked.
“Isn’t that the meeting to discuss about the battle against the Demonic Sect months ago?” Li Tian asked.
“Yes.” Xie Lan answered. “Mu Xin was there, but since he’s married to the Chen family nobody said a word to him.” he said.
The three grimaced, imagining how the doting Promising Sect could protect Mu Xin.
Xie Lan laughed. “So all the blame fell on Mu Jun.” he continued.
They all looked at him, their face serious.
“The Promising Sect, Upright Sect and us excluded, nobody’s there to back him up from the other sects. Though they may be small, but they’re a great number of sects.” He said.
“What happened, then?” Fang Wen asked as he brushed Xie Lan’s hair.
“Since it’s Fei Huang who’s keeping Mu Jun for a long time, Fei Huang was put in a difficult position.” He answered.
Their eyes went wide.
“Yes. He was forced to leave his position because he brought in a questionable persona in the HuiLong.” He told them.
A long silence fell.
“Did Sect Leader Fei follow them?” Lei Ling asked.
Xie Lan didn’t answer.
“Didn’t.” a voice answered.
They turned.
“Yin -er.” Fang Wen said.
“Brother Fei!” Li Tian said.
“Senior Brother Fei!” Lei Ling said and smiled.
Fei Yin looked at them and sighed. “What a carefree bunch.” He told them. “Fifth Brother Lei. It’s ‘First Senior Brother’ to me, and ‘Second Senior Brother’ to him.” he told Lei Ling and pointed Li Tian.
Li Tian just grimaced. Lei Ling pouted.
Fei Yin sighed. “And it’s ‘Fifth Senior Brother’ to you from our junior brothers.” He continued.
Li Tian and Lei Ling ignored him. “So? What happened to Sect Leader Fei?” they asked.
Fei Yin went to the Upright Sect together with Xie Lan to accompany Xie Lan and also to know how will his uncle, Fei Huang, deal with the situation.
Fei Yin looked at them then sighed. “‘Fuck off. I’m the one who brought him in, so I should be the one to throw him out.’, was what he answered to them.” He told them.
A long silence fell as dark lines covered Fang Wen, Li Tian and Lei Ling’s face. Sect Leader Fei sure is a feisty sect leader. They thought.
“What reason did he tell them, then, regarding his position?” Fang Wen asked.
“… ‘You’re free to hug and lick this uncomfortable chair for all I care. You’re very welcome to take this.’” Fei Yin answered, imitating his uncle.
More dark lines covered the three’s face.
Xie Lan chuckled. “As if he’ll let them all run free and bully his man.” he said, referring to Fei Huang protecting Mu Jun.
They looked at him.
“If Fei Huang would leave his post, then who will protect Mu Jun?” he asked.
They didn’t answer.
“That’s why, even though Fei Huang doesn’t like to be the sect leader of the top sect, but he’s putting up with it because…” he said, then smiled as he looked at Fang Wen. “Right?” he asked and looked at their three disciples.
They also have someone they wanted to protect, that’s why they clearly understand Fei Huang.
Upright Sect, Spring of Retribution Cave.
Mu Jun slowly untied Fei Huang’s sash belt. “Why did you protect me?” he asked.
“Why didn’t you leave with them?” Fei Huang asked back, referring to Yu Sheng and his group.
“… I have caused enough trouble for them.” Mu Jun answered. “I don’t want to add more.” He said.
Fei Huang stared at him. “All the trouble cause by the Demonic Sect is enough. There’s no need to add more.” He said.
Mu Jun looked at him as Fei Huang’s inner robe is only left.
Fei Huang looked at him in the eye. “You’re here as my prisoner.” He told him, then turned. He walked towards the spring.
“If it’s inner demons, you don’t need to bear the pain by soaking in that spring ” Mu Jun told him.
Fei Huang stopped and turned to Mu Jun. “If you have more to say, then why don’t you join me in here?” he asked and looked at him coldly, as cold as the water in the spring. He scoffed and turned to soak in the cold water.
But, before his toe could touch the water, a pair of strong arms hugged him from behind.
Mu Jun turned Fei Huang’s head to him and he kissed him.
“Mn ” Fei Huang moaned as he kissed him back. He turned his body to face Mu Jun and wrapped his arms around Mu Jun’s neck. “You can’t leave me.” he said, catching his breath as he kissed him again.
“Yes. I cannot leave you.” Mu Jun said as he pushed Fei Huang down the cold ground.
Mu Jun ripped Fei Huang’s inner robe, leaving him naked under him. He leaned down and kissed the man beneath him as he started to undress, too.
Many years ago (after the YuLing Village case).
“Fei Huang.” The ancestors of the sect called.
They descended in the mortal realm because the sect leader, Fei Xin, died.
“You will be the sect leader starting from now.” they said and ascended to the heaven again.
“… they didn’t even wait for me to object.” Fei Huang muttered. “Well, it’s because they knew I’d object.” He said and sighed. “What? You want to be the sect leader?” he asked when he saw Xi Peng is glaring at him.
The other elders looked at Xi Peng.
Xi Peng’s eyes went wide. “W what are you saying, sect leader?” he asked and forced a smile.
“… I asked if you wanted to be the sect leader.” Fei Huang said.
He really said it again. They all thought.
“A ahahaha… how can I be? I’m much weaker than you, sect leader…” Xi Peng said through his gritted teeth.
“Really?” Fei Huang said. “I would be delighted if you replace me.” he said and walked away.
Xi Peng’s eyes went wide, his face paled. He missed the chance since he thought Fei Huang was just joking.
Fei Huang walked down the stone staircase of the Mist Peak Palace where he was appointed as the sect leader of the sect.
For some unknown but obvious reason, Fei Xin died. Everybody has an idea it was Xi Peng, since he long covets the position.
Fei Huang sighed, doesn’t feel sentimental because of his younger brother’s death because they’re not that close. Fei Xin always liked to be in the limelight, while Fei Huang is always in a secluded cultivation.
Less people to deal with, less bullshit to deal with. That is proven when Fei Xin died. Because he’s always in the limelight, he has many friends. But also, enemies. And one of his enemies is Xi Peng, the greedy bastard. And now Xi Peng killed him.
Fei Huang sighed and stopped when he saw Fei Lin and Fei Yin talking. He walked towards a shade and waited.
But, it was Fei Lin who came. He didn’t ask more since he knew Fei Yin hated their parents to the bones.
After congratulating Fei Lin for becoming an elder of the sect, replacing his position, Fei Huang went to find a cave to cultivate.
Even if he became a sect leader, but he doesn’t want to be friendly with others. The others knew that, too, that’s why they didn’t stop him earlier from leaving.
Smart people, that’s what I like. He thought and entered a cave.
“Hm?” he said when he saw light at the center of the cave. He walked towards it.
He held his breath when he saw the leafy vines are luminating. He turned when he finally saw the source of the bright light earlier.
It was a spring. The water of the spring is also luminating, like the leafy vines.
Fei Huang slowly walked towards the spring, then bent over. His eyes went wide when he saw a big stone is lit up in the bottom of the spring.
“A treasure?” he muttered under his breath.
He immediately took off his clothes. He was about to jump in the water when a voice spoke.
“Nice body.”
