The Daily Life Of The Scum - Chapter 82 Day 81
“… what does Brother Fei mean?” Feng Mo asked, his forehead knotted.
They’re all flying in the sky above the Endless Sea. Like the name suggests, all you could see beneath is endless blue (sea). What you’d see above is all white (clouds), where they are flying.
Earlier, they lowered their altitude so that they could see each other.
“He said you and Wu Bai are deities.” Fei Yin said as he wiped his tears.
“… en.” Feng Mo answered.
“When did you know?” he asked.
“…” Feng Mo didn’t answer.
Fei Yin drew a sharp breath. “Won’t you go and complain to your master?” he asked as he watch Chen Sheng fly ahead of them.
“… he’s our master.” Feng Mo answered.
Meaning, he won’t complain to Chen Sheng.
Fei Yin sighed, changing the subject. “How did you two end up with the royal family?” he asked, remembered Yu Sheng once said Feng Mo and Wu Bai are royal guards.
“We, deities, can choose to stay in the heaven, or descend in the mortal realm.” Feng Mo started. “Those who wants to descend in mortal realm should have enough power to stay in the mortal realm. As to those who wanted to stay in the heaven, they descend when the god ancestor gives them mission.” He explained.
“… you were given a mission.” Fei Yin concluded.
Feng Mo nodded. “Yes.” He answered. “Wu Bai and I are chosen to watch over the royal family of BaiLong.” He said. “Since then, we existed in the mortal realm, but our appearance as mortals.” He explained.
“But ” Fei Yin said. ” you two died.” He said and looked at Feng Mo.
Feng Mo fell silent.
“We deities could only die if our believers’ faith to us are reduced to none.” Wu Bai answered as Xia Di flew beside them.
Yu Sheng followed.
“Then how did you die?” Fei Yin asked.
“We didn’t.” Wu Bai answered. “Our soul was forced out of our mortal body.” He explained.
Fei Yin’s forehead knotted. “The Soul Evicting Technique…” he muttered, remembered the Soul Technique.
“Yes.” Wu Bai answered. He was about to add something when he paused.
Fei Yin looked at him, then sighed. He didn’t push the matter as he looked at Chen Sheng’s solitary back. Sheng… he thought, remembered how Chen Sheng was from the worlds he met him.
He was once Ci Sheng, the cute and adorable kid Gao Yin raised. He was once Song Sheng, the headstrong and cool but soft-hearted instructor of He Yin and the Fourscapes Team.
Most of all… He is Commander Lu Sheng, the caring attendant Peng Yin idolizes.
These characters, the commander and his attendant… this is where he (Yin) believes the two of them started. From his sympathetic comment that led him (transmigrated) to various books where he met different Shengs. Leading him to the book which is the reason he (Yin) was transmigrated, until finally brought him in this book.
Yes. This should be his final destination. He thought as he looks at Chen Sheng. This is Chen Sheng’s world, and he’d never see Chen Sheng again if he’ll transmigrate to another world.
That is why, this will be his final stop. This should be his final stop, since this is Chen Sheng’s final stop. That is why, he will go anywhere Chen Sheng will go.
Feng Mo watches how Fei Yin looks at Chen Sheng. Those longing eyes that reflects pain… he thought as he glances at Wu Bai.
His long, white hair that’s blown by the wind are like strips of clouds in the sky. Bai… he thought, then glanced at Chen Sheng. Lord Sheng… he thought and lowered his head.
How could he…? He thought, referring to their memories locked by Chen Sheng. He doesn’t know when did Chen Sheng locked their memories. He would’ve continued living with locked memories had he not found Wu Bai, and Wu Bai told him everything that happened to them.
It was that night, before he fell asleep in Wu Bai’s arms. He heard him talking.
“Mo-er…” Wu Bai called, brushing his hair. “Do you still remember when I told you that our soul was took out of our body?” he asked.
Feng Mo didn’t answer.
Wu Bai sighed as he kissed his temple. “It was our lord.” He told him.
Feng Mo’s eyes went wide, but he didn’t speak.
Wu Bai continued. “His name is Sheng. He is our lord, and we call him our master.” He started. “We are deities. We’re living in the mortal realm together with the mortals because we are given mission by god ancestor, Shen (god) Zu Xian.” He said.
“… to watch over the royal family?” Feng Mo silently asked.
“Yes.” Wu Bai answered. “He told us that a calamity will befell in BaiLong.” He told him.
Feng Mo turned to him, his eyes asking.
Wu Bai smiled as he caressed his cheek. “Yes.” He said. “That’s the main reason why we are sent to the mortal world.” He told him. “To help save the BaiLong. Protecting the royal family is just the second.” He explained.
“But, the royal family…” Feng Mo said.
“… all dead.” Wu Bai said.
Feng Mo’s eyes went wide, shocked.
Wu Bai looked at him, his face serious. “Your Brother Chen…” he said, lowering his voice.
“He’s our master, Lord Sheng.”
“Hey. Hey!”
Feng Mo jumped and blinked. He immediately turned and saw Yu Sheng’s staring at him, his face puzzled. “W what?” he asked.
Yu Sheng frowned. “I’ve been calling you nth times, but you’re not answering.” He told him. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
Zu Zhe silently looked at Feng Mo, his hands moving in the air. Wu Bai’s face is serious.
Feng Mo didn’t answer. Instead, he looked at Chen Sheng flying alone afar. We failed to protect the royal family, especially the prince Hou Sheng. He thought, his eyes dimmed. Can we still protect the BaiLong? He thought and lowered his head.
“I still don’t know the full story of BaiLong ” Fei Yin suddenly said.
Feng Mo raised his head and looked at him.
” but…” Fei Yin said and turned to him. “It must be a very special place, since many of you wants to protect it. Save it.” he said and looked at in his eyes.
Feng Mo’s eyes went wide. His face lit up as he looked at Fei Yin. “Brother Fei…” he called, don’t know what to say.
“Right. I’m your Brother.” Fei Yin told him, then frowned.
Feng Mo’s eyes went wide, then he laughed. Even after their identities were exposed, the relationship between them fellow disciples didn’t change.
Yes… he thought as he looked at Chen Sheng. It shouldn’t change. So he thought, his eyes became misty.
Why didn’t he (Chen Sheng) tell us all about this, for all these times?
Yu Sheng looked at Feng Mo, then Fei Yin. Then he looked at Chen Sheng whom the two are looking at. “Who is he, really?” he asked. “He didn’t even bat an eye after telling me that the royal family died. So?” he said and turned to Wu Bai who’s silently sitting on Xia Di’s back, together with Zu Zhe.
Zu Zhe also looked at Wu Bai, his hands on the holographic keyboard, ready to type.
Wu Bai glanced at him, then sighed. He looked at Feng Mo before he spoke. “He’s our lord, as what we’ve told you.” He answered.
“… but not just any ordinary lord.” Yu Sheng said. “For you, the deities, to call someone as your lord…” he said, then paused. “Is he a god?” he asked, remembered how his parents, when they’re still alive, told him about the BaiLong, even when he’s asleep (100 years).
The royal family is supported (favored) by the god of BaiLong which, they believe, is their (BaiLong people) ancestor.
“No.” Wu Bai answered.
“Then, who is he?” Yu Sheng asked and looked at Wu Bai. “Also a deity?” he asked.
Wu Bai looked at Chen Sheng who’s silently flying. “No.” he answered.
Yu Sheng’s forehead knotted. “Then, who is he?” he asked again.
It was a long while before Wu Bai answered. “He is a lord.” He said.
Yu Sheng frowned. “You’ve been telling me that since earlier.” He said, annoyed. “If he isn’t a god, nor a deity, then ” he said, impatient. ” what is he?” he asked and looked at Chen Sheng. “Don’t even dare to answer he’s a mortal ” he said, frowning, as he remembered he thought Chen Sheng as Hou Sheng.
“He’s not.” Wu Bai cut him off.
Yu Sheng stared at him, his face blank. “I won’t ask again ” he told him, referring to asking what Chen Sheng is.
Wu Bai sighed. “Our master… he’s Lord Sheng.” He said, then took a deep breath. “Neither a deity nor a god… since he’s ” he said and looked at Chen Sheng when they all exited the clouds.
The sunlight kissed Chen Sheng’s skin, making him glow. But, that’s not all.
Yu Sheng and Zu Zhe’s eyes went wide when they saw Chen Sheng. His body that’s enveloped in sunlight, making him look transparent… he’s really transparent.
Fei Yin didn’t see this since he’s still talking with Feng Mo. But, he already seen this. What matters is that, he didn’t believe it.
Chen Sheng’s transparent body… the inside is a glowing ball.
” an entity formed by the people’s subconsciousness.” Wu Bai muttered as the three of them watch Chen Sheng come out of the sunset’s ray of lights.
His body is back to normal again.
Night.
Since Feng Mo, Wu Bai and Chen Sheng are godly figures, they don’t need to ride on sword or mount on Xia Di’s back.
When the sun finally set, they called on for the clouds and mounted them. This made Fei Yin, Yu Sheng, and especially Zu Zhe, gaped at them.
Wu Bai and Feng Mo shared on one cloud and slept on it. Chen Sheng, since Fei Yin is a mortal, slept alone on another cloud.
The three men were left to sleep on the beast’s back.
“You two go sleep. I’m not shameless to disturb a lover’s nest.” Fei Yin said and glanced at Xia Di, who frowned because his back is called a ‘nest’.
Zu Zhe’s face went red while Yu Sheng grinned as he thanked Fei Yin. He then hopped on Xia Di’s back and laid his head on Zu Zhe’s lap.
Zu Zhe grimaced, but didn’t complain. He’d be disturbing the three godly figures that’re sleeping on the clouds.
He just continued writing. Yu Sheng’s staring at him but he’s ignoring him. Fei Yin’s just flying on his sword silently, obviously he’s also thinking.
Mu Jun told them, before they left, that it’ll take 3 days at most to reach BaiLong Continent. This is still the first day of their travel towards BaiLong.
“Zhe.” Yu Sheng called.
“Hm?” Zu Zhe said, his fingers moving over the holographic keys.
“I love you.” Yu Sheng said.
Zu Zhe’s hands over the keys passed through and his hands fell on Yu Sheng’s chest. The holographic keyboard and screen vanished.
“You ” he said and turned to glare at Yu Sheng when he stopped. His eyes fell on Yu Sheng’s serious handsome face as he looks at him.
Zu Zhe’s face went red. He was about to pull his hands when Yu Sheng held them, his eyes still on Zu Zhe’s face.
“… you just like me?” Yu Sheng silently asked. “I care, but for now, it’ll be enough for me.” he said. “As long as your whole affection will be on me… that’s all that matters to me.” he said and smiled as he reverently kissed Zu Zhe’s fingers, one by one.
Zu Zhe felt his head is about to explode. “I… I ” he said, his face so red the clouds around them turned to water. “I… ” he said.
Yu Sheng kissing his fingers makes him distracted, but he can’t retract his hands. Why? Because it makes his hands feel weak, making him unable to pull his hand.
“… I love you, too.” Zu Zhe said and lowered his head.
By doing so, his eyes met Yu Sheng’s eyes. But, he didn’t retract his gaze. Instead, he smiled at him.
“… what an honor to be loved by you.” Zu Zhe muttered as he lowered his head.
Yu Sheng’s eyes went wide, shocked, when he felt Zu Zhe’s lips on his. This is the second time (no, actually not) Zu Zhe kissed him on his own will.
“Zhe…” Yu Sheng muttered under his breath as he stared at Zu Zhe’s face.
Zu Zhe just smiled as he called on the system again. The holographic screen and keyboard popped out. “Why did you go with me?” he asked.
The keyboard is already there, but he didn’t move his hands.
“I want to.” Yu Sheng answered.
“… you already have no business with BaiLong.” Zu Zhe said. “Also, you could’ve just stopped me from going to BaiLong. If you did, I won’t go.” He said, then took a deep breath. “Why did you go with me?” he asked him again. He turned and looked in Yu Sheng’s eyes.
Yu Sheng looked back at him. Living together in 15 years, they clearly know each other.
“I really want to go with you, since I want to. I want to be by your side.” He told him.
“I know.” Zu Zhe said.
“I…” Yu Sheng said, staring in Zu Zhe’s eyes. “I want to know you more.” He told him. “I want to know more of you where you come from, what world did you live in… I ” he said and raised his hand. ” want to be a part of your world, too.” He said and touched Zu Zhe’s cheek. “Also…” he added.
“There’s more?” Zu Zhe asked.
“Mn.” Yu Sheng nodded. “I don’t want to lose you.” He answered.
Zu Zhe’s eyes went wide, then he smiled. He held Yu Sheng’s hand caressing his cheek as he leaned down to him.
“I assure you.” He said as he stared at Yu Sheng’s face. “I won’t disappear.” He said and whispered to him, the same words he told the voice of the system when the system called him that day in the cave of the YuLing.
Yu Sheng’s eyes went wide as he stared at Zu Zhe’s face, shocked. “Zhe…” he called.
Zu Zhe chuckled as he faced the holographic screen and keyboard. “Now, can you let me work?” he asked, frowning. “I still have to update 11 chapters wah!” he exclaimed when Yu Sheng pulled him down. He fell on Yu Sheng’s chest.
He turned and glared at Yu Sheng after he covered his mouth, afraid of waking the others. Yu Sheng just laughed.
“You mm.” Zu Zhe said when Yu Sheng pulled him by his nape and kissed him.
He looked at Yu Sheng. Yu Sheng raised his brows, grinning. This villain… he thought as he remembered the first book he wrote. He then smiled as he buried his face on Yu Sheng’s chest.
His smile disappeared. Thankfully, he transmigrated to this world. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t know that what he wrote is just the tip of an iceberg. Now, he’s going to write the other part of the iceberg that’s submerged in water.
That iceberg called ‘Chen Sheng’.
