The Daily Life Of The Scum - Chapter 83 Day 82
Second day.
“We can now see what Mu Jun said ‘islands’.” Wu Bai said as their group looked down on the patches of land floating in the water. (seriously, this description? Well, this is what CS’ group sees XD)
“There’s so many of them…” Feng Mo muttered under his breath, looking at the scattered patches of land on the deep blue water beneath them.
“Hm~” Chen Sheng hummed, smiling, as he looked at the islands below.
They’re now back on mounting their sword aside from Wu Bai and Zu Zhe who’re sitting on Xia Di’s back.
“The islands’ soil is white.” Yu Sheng said. “Is this because of the abundant qi of BaiLong that it affects its land?” he asked, puzzled.
He never once stayed in BaiLong, anyway, since he was born in the middle realm.
“Does it?” Feng Mo asked, also puzzled.
“Dunno…” Wu Bai answered, thinking.
Yu Sheng grimaced. They are deities, alright. Mortal problems, aside from the one given to them, they do not mind.
Zu Zhe, coming from another world, grimaced. “It’s a chemical reaction caused by the minerals present in the soil, that’s why the soil is white.” He explained.
They all looked at them. Awe in their eyes, but also puzzlement.
“… ‘chemical’…” Feng Mo said, his forehead knotted.
“‘reaction’?” Wu Bai asked, puzzled.
“… ‘mineral’?” Yu Sheng asked.
Zu Zhe sighed and looked at Fei Yin, asking for help. He remembered, this guy (FY) is also from another world, like him.
Fei Yin turned to them. “… these islands are best tourist spots. Would you like to descend on one?” he asked them, his face blank.
“… ‘tourist’…” Feng Mo said, his mind went blank.
“‘spot’?” Wu Bai asked, now more puzzled.
“‘islands’…” Yu Sheng muttered, bewildered by the islands.
Zu Zhe let out an exasperated sigh, vein popping on his head. He looked at Fei Yin blankly. He may know that Fei Yin is from another world, but he doesn’t know what kind of life Fei Yin is living.
Now, guessing from Fei Yin’s statement, the guy must be rich to afford island hopping. The thought adds another popping vein in Zu Zhe’s head.
“Minerals are the substances present in the soil.” Chen Sheng suddenly said.
They all looked at him.
“It can make the soil change its color. The islands, for instance.” He said and pointed the islands they’re passing over. “And changing in color is the result of chemical reaction.” He explained and turned to the puzzled three.
“Ooh!” the three exclaimed, awe in their eyes.
Clearly, they’re impressed in Chen Sheng.
Zu Zhe and Fei Yin grimaced. To be one-upped by someone who just visited your world, thus learning from your world, then used it against you… surely, it makes you want to beat the crap out of them.
Unfortunately, they can’t win against Chen Sheng since the guy is powerful. They could only swallow their hate and annoyance.
Chen Sheng just nodded at them, then faced north. The lively mood just now vanished.
They continued flying in silence.
Night.
Feng Mo looked at the couple sleeping on Xia Di’s back. He then looked at Fei Yin who’s silently flying beside Xia Di.
He turned when he saw Chen Sheng waved his hand. A second later and Fei Yin’s eyes closed. The clouds around Fei Yin gathered around him and ‘caught’ him.
Fei Yin, carried by the clouds as they took him to Chen Sheng, is now deeply sleeping.
Feng Mo’s face went serious, but his eyes are sad, as he watches Chen Sheng sat on the side of the clouds that’s carrying the sleeping Fei Yin.
This is what Chen Sheng did last night to make Fei Yin sleep.
“Puzzled by him?” Wu Bai asked. He’s referring to Chen Sheng.
“Mn.” Feng Mo nodded.
“… he still can feel the same as us.” Wu Bai told him, referring to Chen Sheng having emotions.
“Then why didn’t he tell us about our real self?” Feng Mo asked, referring to Chen Sheng, despite knowing everything, didn’t tell them who they are. “Why did he lock our memories?” he asked. “And… why did he force our soul out of our mortal body?” he asked, referring to when they ‘died’ the time the rebellion in BaiLong started.
“… ” Wu Bai didn’t answer, since he himself didn’t know the answer, too.
Only Chen Sheng knows, since he’s the one who lived the hundred years, the time that stagnated for all of them.
The time when the royal family escaped, yet met death when they came back in their own land again. The time when his and Wu Bai’s soul was forced out of their mortal body and their souls wandered for 100 years until it found suitable body to possess. The time when Mu Jun destroyed the three realms and merged them into one, resulting of three large continents, which existed from that time till now, after 115 years.
And now they’re going to the one of the three large continents, the one where the problem rooted BaiLong Continent, which is also the root (origin) of the root of the problems in the other large continent, HuiLong Continent.
For them who are trapped in time for 100 years… did it also stop for Chen Sheng, who lived through all those times?
Again, only he can answer that.
As the sun started to peek in the horizon, the group finally saw a land that extended beyond what their eyes could see. They knew, then, that they finally reached the BaiLong Continent.
The continent that’s rich in qi, yet is plagued by internal chaos…
They looked at each other and nodded as they sped up to reach the edge of the vast land.
They descended on the ground, only to exclaim in surprise when they felt that the land is soft and loose.
“W w what is this?!” Feng Mo asked, panicked, and immediately mounted back on his sword.
Wu Bai’s forehead knotted and immediately jumped back to Xia Di’s back.
Yu Sheng lifted Zu Zhe and carried him on his arms fearing the loose and soft soil would eat his lover’s feet.
Only Chen Sheng, Fei Yin and Zu Zhe’s face is calm.
“This type of soil is called sand.” Zu Zhe calmly, though super pissed of his lover, said.
“‘sand’?” Feng Mo, Wu Bai and Yu Sheng asked.
“No need to be afraid.” Fei Yin told them. “The soil won’t eat your feet.” He said.
But, his statement just made the three more vigilant.
Fei Yin sighed while Zu Zhe grimaced. Just how limited does this people know about their world? They thought, mentally frowning.
Their mental frown vanished when they realized that the HuiLong Continent is an enclosed continent (covered by mountains) that is why, for the past 15 years, they’ve never been to a beach. Since, they never saw a beach, because there’s none, in the HuiLong Continent.
Chen Sheng laughed, which made them turn to him. “The soil is called ‘sand’.” He told them. “And this place is called ‘shore’. This is where the land and sea meets.” He explained. “The soil will be tougher as you continue to walk.” He told them and smiled as he started to walk towards the forest.
Their eyes went wide, then looked at each other. They immediately followed.
Since they all don’t feel hunger, there’s no need to worry about food and water. Chen Sheng, Feng Mo and Wu Bai, since they’re godly figures, doesn’t need to eat. Qi is their food.
Fei Yin and Yu Sheng, since both of them are high-level cultivators, no need to tell that they already practiced inedia.
And, Zu Zhe, since the system adjusted his body functions, there’s also no need for him to eat food. That is why they flew non-stop from HuiLong to BaiLong without bringing any food with them.
In short, they’re the best team for survival games.
“Brother Fei, where is your friend located?” Feng Mo asked as they all walked around the forest.
They’ve been walking for hours, but don’t see an exit. They’ve already flew above the forest, but all they could see is green (trees) which seems to be endless. In the end, they got bored and tired they just decided to walk to preserve their energy.
They also have sent Xia Di, making him fly further than they did. But, the beast still hasn’t returned.
“Dunno.” Fei Yin answered as he hit the fly with the hilt of his sword when it went to Chen Sheng. “It only said it’s here.” He explained.
“‘it’…?” Feng Mo and Wu Bai said, still doesn’t know about the system.
“Have you heard anything from it?” Yu Sheng asked Zu Zhe.
“No.” Zu Zhe answered and shook his head. He opened the system.
Fei Yin looked at the holographic system floating in front of Zu Zhe. “Have you tried locating the system using the system?” he asked.
Zu Zhe looked at him. He already noticed Fei Yin can see the system. Also, he must’ve since he’s also a transmigrator like him.
“No.” he answered and shook his head. “My contact to the system is only through messages and calls. The other use of this is…” he said, didn’t continue.
Fei Yin stared at Zu Zhe, his face blank. After three days of travelling with him, he now can conclude Zu Zhe is the author of this story.
“Then we can only blindly look for him.” he just said, then walked beside the silent Chen Sheng.
Zu Zhe sighed, then grimaced. He doesn’t know what to feel. Finally meeting the protagonist of the story he wrote first… but the protagonist is cold… he could only sigh.
He wonders if he should regret writing about a cold and unfriendly protagonist.
HuiLong Continent Newfound Sect.
“Senior Brother Li!” a disciple called. “We’re wondering if which soul manual is better ”
“Oh. The one on the left ” Li Tian answered.
“Senior Brother Li – !” another one called. “How about the skill manual – ?”
“You should train your body more if you want to train with that one ” Li Tian said.
“Senior Brother Lei! We’re running out of talismans – !”
“Senior Brother Lei – ! What array should be used ”
“Waaah! Wait – ! Wait – !” Lei Ling said, crying, as he ran to the study hall after he heard his fellow disciples’ call. “Waah – !” he exclaimed when he tripped.
“Careful.” Wen Yan said and caught him.
Lei Ling raised his head and his face lit up. “Brother Wen!” he exclaimed and smiled.
Wen Yan grimaced as he straightened Lei Ling up. “You shouldn’t run on the corridors ” he told him.
“Yes!” Lei Ling answered and ran away.
After two seconds and he stopped. He turned back to Wen Yan who, still didn’t move from his spot, is staring at him.
“Yes?” Wen Yan said, noticed Lei Ling’s staring at him but didn’t speak.
“Senior Brother Lei!”
“Have you seen Senior Brother Lei – ?”
But, Lei Ling ignored his fellow disciples’ call. “You’re going back to the Demonic Sect?” he asked.
“Yes.” Wen Yan answered.
“Second Senior Brother Li. Have you seen Fifth Senior Brother Lei?”
“Oh. He must’ve drowned from the talismans in his room? Ha ha.” Li Tian answered and laughed, awkward.
Silence fell on the two outside, a wall separating them and the disciples inside the study hall where Lei Ling should be right now.
“When will you come back?” Lei Ling asked.
“… I don’t know.” Wen Yan answered. “The Demonic Sect is just rebuilding its foundation because of the destruction caused by Mu Xie.” He explained.
Another silence fell.
“… I’m leaving, then ” Wen Yan said and was about to turn when Lei Ling ran and grabbed the sleeve of his robe.
“… not yet.” Lei Ling said, his head hung.
“Oh, no! I burnt up a talisman!”
“Waah! Fire – !”
Silence.
“… go to your fellow disciples ” Wen Yan said.
Lei Ling didn’t answer and tightened his grip on Wen Yan’s sleeve it crinkled. I… he thought, his heart beating fast. I shouldn’t let this chance given by Senior Brother Li and Junior Brother Chen (Chen Shen)! He thought, his face went red.
He’s referring to his confession to Wen Yan.
Demonic Sect.
“Huh? Where’s Brother Wen?” Chen Shen asked as he looked around the empty hall of the Demonic Sect.
Mu Xin stared at Chen Sheng, his dark eyes became darker. “Shen…” he called, the front of his pants became tighter.
Chen Shen turned to him, his face puzzled. “What?” he called as he walked towards him.
Mu Xin silently groaned, holding himself not to pounce the guy that’s now in front of him. “Ngh.” He groaned when Chen Shen stared at his face.
A devious smile crossed Chen Shen’s face. “Don’t hold yourself back, my dear husband.” He said and lifted his face as he stared at Mu Xin’s deep, dark eyes hungrily looking at him. “We’re just alone in this desolate pl mm!” he said and moaned when Mu Xin kissed him after he grabbed him by the waist and he fell on his chest.
Chen Shen kissed him back with the same passion as he opened his legs and sat on Mu Xin’s lap, feeling the hardness of his husband only for him.
“Shen…” Mu Xin groaned as he felt Chen Shen pushed himself towards his body and rubbed himself against him, particularly on his lower body.
Chen Shen grinned as he licked Mu Xin’s neck. “… you should be grateful, since you awaken this side of me, my husband.” He whispered on Mu Xin’s ear and bit the other’s neck.
Mu Xin groaned in both pain and pleasure. “Shen… you’re killing me ” he told him between his breaths as he ripped Chen Shen’s clothes.
Chen Shen chuckled and didn’t make his husband wait any longer as he kissed him, undressing his husband as he undressed him.
The empty, silent place will be filled with cried of pleasure of the two people on the throne, passionately making love with each other on the cold throne.
Promising Sect.
Wu Fan doesn’t know what to react as he watched his son, Wu Yuan, passionately kissed Sun Yi when his son got jealous for some unknown reason again.
He looked at his side when somebody occupied the space. His eyes went wide when he saw Chen Jing, watching the disciples of the Promising Sect.
“Jing…” Wu Fan unconsciously muttered. His eyes went wide when Chen Jing turned to him. He immediately looked away, his face red.
“What is it, Sect Leader Wu?” Chen Jing asked.
That woke Wu Fan up. He turned to Chen Jing. “N-nothing…” he answered, then lowered his head. He was about to leave when Chen Jing grabbed his arm. “Wha ” he said and turned. His eyes went wide when he saw Chen Jing’s serious face. “W what – ?” he asked, stammering.
“… you want to run from your feelings again?” Chen Jing asked.
Wu Fan’s eyes went wide. He was about to speak when Chen Jing spoke, which made him shocked.
“I won’t. Not again.” Chen Jing said, looking at him in the eye. “I lost you once. I won’t let myself lose you again. Never ” he said and pulled him towards him.
Wu Fan gasped, feeling their body close to each other.
“That’s why ” Chen Jing said, staring at Wu Fan’s face. ” I won’t make you choose the same decision I did ” he said and lowered his head to Wu Fan’s face, their breaths mingled. ” so I’ll never make you ran away from your feelings ” he said and kissed Wu Fan’s gaping lips.
Wu Fan’s eyes went wide, shocked, as he felt their heartbeats beating the same, fast rhythm as their lips touched. Jing… he thought as he closed his eyes.
Chen Jing’s eyes went wide, surprised, when he felt Wu Fan’s lips moved. He was about to withdrew his lips when he realized Wu Fan smiled and kissed him back.
Jing… Wu Fan thought as he let himself be swept away on his feet by this man kissing him. I’ve never once thought of running away from my feelings. I never did, and never will. That’s why – he wrapped his arms around Chen Jing’s neck, pulling himself closer to the man, leaving no gaps between the two. He wants to breathe the same air this man breathes.
The two of them kissed in the shadows of the curtains fluttering, making the two silhouettes behind one.
Upright Sect.
“T This…” Xi Ling said, his face filled with worry as he anxiously looked at Fei Lin, then Fei Huang. His eyes finally fell on Mu Jun who’s hanging his head low as he stood in the center.
Ho Yue, who’s watching the other characters that’re part of the main cast, looked around nervously. He bit his lip as he lowered his head, contemplating on what Mu Jun just confessed.
“‘Chen Sheng’ is not Hou Sheng, since I saw with my own eyes that Hou Sheng died after the queen gave birth to him.”
“Then why didn’t you say this earlier?” Fei Huang asked.
Mu Jun took a deep breath before he looked straight in Fei Huang’s eyes. “How can I when my throat is covered by a very thin but sharp blade?” he asked. “I sense a very dangerous aura around us that time.” He said, referring to a very strong aura, far stronger than him and the king of BaiLong combined.
Obviously, he’s referring to ‘Chen Sheng’, whose real identity is unknown again.
