The Dawn Of The New World - Chapter 1422: Costly Blessings
1422 Costly Blessings
It looked exactly as he expected since it was made according to his own thoughts.
There was a tab at the very top labeled “Favour” and shockingly, it already had some numbers next to it.
‘Favour: 44,301’
“???”
Lord Yami saw his bewildered look and asked, “What happened?”
“I…already have some favour somehow…” Hao Xuan quietly replied.
“Right, I almost forgot about that. That’s a little present from me to get you started. When we are sacrificing souls we can also choose to share that favour with another servant of the Nine. Those ants I killed earlier proved to be quite helpful in that endeavor.”
“Oh, thank you. Is…is this a lot? How much favour does a normal soul usually bring in?”
The standards could be vastly different so he wasn’t expecting much but Lord Yami’s response left him speechless.
“Hmm, it has been a while but if I remember correctly, a soul below that profound realm of yours should net somewhere around 60 to 80 favour if it’s not too evil or too good. But if it is then it would be around a 100 to 120.”
Hao Xuan looked at his favour again which was a little over 44,000 and for a good few minutes, he did not know what to say.
The souls that Lord Yami sacrificed in HIS name must have been extremely powerful to bring in over 10,000 favour per soul. His prediction of them being at the level of True Gods was indeed true.
‘That’s one hell of a present…’
“I don’t know what to say. This is almost…too much.”
“You don’t have to say anything, I am just ‘returning the favour’. My master did the same for me when I first joined the Sanctum which helped save my life. If you ever come across someone in our position you too can do the same for them.”
“I am not sure whether I will ever get that opportunity but I will keep that in mind,” Hao Xuan couldn’t thank him enough so for the time being he just accepted it and moved on. n.-In
“Do you have any suggestions on what to use it for?”
“Well, that all depends on you. You can even call in a literal miracle with enough favour so I suggest you wait instead of spending it all at once since you never know what you might need in the future.”
“As for some of the things that you CAN buy, it ranges from one-time use spells or miracles that could even revive a recently deceased soul to something more permanent like that giving you an ability or power. You can check what gifts are offered even right now but depending on your situation and level of mark they will continue to change.”
Hao Xuan immediately closed his eyes and opened them again after thinking about exchanging his favour for gifts.
The list was already coming together right in front of his eyes but when he saw the gifts his mood immediately soured.

The list went on and on with all kinds of miracles and passive abilities offered at exorbitant prices.
‘There is no way these prices are normal. It must be because of my low-level marks. I will have to look into it more later.’
This wasn’t really the best time to be dozing off like that. Lord Yami saw the light return in Hao Xuan’s eyes and inquired further.
“Did you see the various gifts and blessings?”
“Yes, very expensive and mostly made up of passive abilities only.”
“Of course, they can’t just give out the good stuff to anyone. You have to prove yourself by increasing the level of your mark.”
“Yes, I thought as much. Is there anything else?”
“One last thing,” Lord Yami reached into his robe and pulled out a little black book, “This is for you.”
Hao Xuan cautiously accepted it.
It looked completely normal apart from being worn out to the extreme. The leather covering was full of scratches, blood stains, and scorch marks.
“I was supposed to give you this.”
