The Dead Zone: Maya Stela - C64
Then this was the breakthrough?
I should be excited by now. Strangely, however, a sense of uneasiness gathered in my chest.
The lotus flower should have been a sacred symbol, but this stone flower seemed to have a layer of black poison on it, causing people to feel suppressed for no reason.
It could have something to do with the top of my head. I stepped to the side, and the feeling of oppression faded a little.
I thought it strange, but I couldn’t say it, and there was no real reason. Right now, this was the only way out.
The flashlight swept the area above it. In the center was a brown protrusion with a rune carved on it.
We stood a little farther away and poked at the spot with our poles, but we couldn’t push it.
Could it be that it wasn’t here?
Wei Yuting shook her head: “It should be here. The button in the middle should be alive.” “Living?” I guess. My grandfather did something like that before, and the black circle in the middle was too big. Of course I’m just guessing. ”
“Could it be that they have been taken out?” What do you mean by suddenly high interest, “that button, could it be pulled out to be useful?”
“Wei Yuting, come on my back. Take a good look. Don’t touch any part of it. Be careful of the mechanism.” The iron needle from last time really scared me.
Wei Yuting wasn’t heavy. Her hesitant voice came from above me. “There are holes in the lotus petals here. If they weren’t so close, it was very possible that they would be confused with the runes and carvings on the side … “Wait a moment,” Wei Yuting instructed me to head to the right. “This wall…” She lurched against the wall, then leaned back and almost toppled me.
With a swoosh, a cracking sound could be heard. Half a meter above my head, a spike jutted into the wall, still quivering.
Wei Yuting jumped down and breathed a sigh of relief as she looked at the cave.
“How did you know there were hidden arrows?” I was curious. It was too fast, and so accurate.
“I found a hole in the wall.” Wei Yuting said, “There’s a small hole at the bottom of that button. I guessed that it would be useless anyway. It’s better than losing your life.”
