The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 286
…
When they arrived safely at the main room of the treasury, Juin’s lower jaw dropped wide open. Weapons of all kinds and shapes lined the rock walls, and there were oddly shaped items placed on the ground, and underneath these items, there was some sort of spell arrays.
He then looked at Luca and Wolfe, who both showed an indifferent look as they took a quick glance at the weapons.
“Why do you guys look so calm?”
Wolfe raised a brow and chuckled. “I’m from one of the oldest werewolf families on Earth, and Luca… I’m sure he has been to the Order’s treasure vault a few times before. This treasury is, and I’m sure, a lot smaller than we have on Earth. At least, my family’s vault is twice the size of this room and with three times more weapons.”
Hearing him, Juin could not help but sigh inwardly as he thought, “I can’t even be stuck with normal supernatural beings. Luca aside, but I didn’t know Wolfe’s family is also that wealthy…”
At most, he thought Wolfe’s family was middle-class, but from what the guy just said, it seemed that his family was in the upper echelon.
“Stop fooling around,” Luca said as he stood forward. “Don’t simply touch anything. There are dangerous arrays all around… And a lot of them are hidden.”
His eyes lit up in a soft red glow as he looked at the hidden wards that were all over them, including one that was right in front of Juin’s foot. “There’s one right in front of you, idiot.”
The moment he said that, Juin took a step back.
“Smart boy,” Crown Prince Warrick said as his eyes lit up as well.
With a wry glance, Wolfe whispered to Juin, “It’s alright. I will be your eyes. Just follow right behind me.”
Juin nodded and walked closely behind Wolfe as they checked out the weapons. While they were looking at the inscriptions next to the weapons, he whispered, “Do you know what they can do?”
“I can’t read Atlanteans…” Wolfe whispered back. He then glanced at Luca and continued, “I think Luca can…”
Juin sighed. “Is there anything that he can’t do?”
“He can’t use flames?” Wolfe said, trying to make Juin feel better.
However, Juin merely gave him a blank expression and said, “That’s not helpful.”
“I can’t help it. Luca was trained since young by President Presley himself, and you have met the guy; he’s pretty competitive! He probably knows multiple Earth languages, as well as languages from other dimensions.”
“He can’t possibly be that smart!” Juin whispered as he glanced at Luca.
Wolfe shrugged. “When you have a goal, you will do whatever you can to achieve it, and Luca’s goal would be impossible if he doesn’t try harder.”
“Goal…?” Juin thought about it and realized that Wolfe was talking about Luca’s d.e.s.i.r.e to get a demon who could help him resurrect his parents… or something.
“I can hear you b*stards!” Luca suddenly hissed, turning over to glare at them. “Get your a*s over here!”
“You’re not the boss of me!” Juin rolled his eyes, but he still walked over with Wolfe.
“I won the battle, and if not for an idiot, we would be back on Earth, where we would be receiving group training, in which I would be given leadership training as well… So yeah, I’m well qualified to be your boss!”
Juin narrowed his eyes, but when he felt a tug on his sleeve, he took a deep breath instead. “Fine!”
Luca looked at Crown Prince Warrick, who was watching them fight with a playful smirk, and pointed at a diamond bowl, in which tiny marble-like dark blue items were placed in.
“If I’m not wrong, the inscriptions here say ‘Hydro Bomb’.”
Crown Prince Warrick took a brief glance and nodded. “Yes, you’re right. However, I don’t think that would be of help to you. We have our own version of Hydro Bombs, which from my previous battle with Renaud, is similar in terms of strength to these. We have tried to use it at the volcano, but it’s like throwing a bucket of plain water into raging flames. Useless to the max.”
“Can I have it?” Luca asked despite knowing that those bombs wouldn’t help.
The Crown Prince thought for a while before nodding. “Go ahead. These aren’t of any importance, so you can take the whole thing if you want.”
Luca nodded and took the entire bowl of Hydro Bombs, as well as the diamond bowl itself, which caused the Crown Prince to raise a brow. Seeing his expression, Luca said, “Consider it as part of the payment for our service.”
“That’s… robbery, no?” Juin thought as he exchanged glances with Wolfe, who was obviously thinking the same thing. Yet none of them spoke up. That diamond bowl looked top-notch, and if they managed to return to Earth, they could sell it off for a good price and split between them.
Luca kept the Hydro Bombs in his Dimensional Pouch but held the bowl in his hand. He then pointed to the next diamond bowl, which was two steps next to the earlier one. “This is actually what I really want…”
Crown Prince Warrick glanced at it and nodded. “Good choice.”
Inside the second diamond bowl was a bunch of dark blue marbles. And unlike the first one, the inner sides of this diamond bowl were covered in frost.
“That’s…” Juin’s eyes widened.
Master Shawn nodded. “An ice-based weapon. ‘Frost Marble’.”
“I have heard of these from my master before,” Luca said as he used a wind spell to lift one of the Frost Marbles out of the bowl. “The Atlanteans are all mostly water users. While they are unable to use the power of other elements, they are smart enough to use the materials around them, as well as various spells, to create weapons that could give them the powers of different types of elements. Frost Marble is one of such items.
“You can use it to create an explosion of ice…”
Crown Prince Warrick nodded. “You can take some of these, but not all. I need them. However, I have to warn you that even if you activate it in the volcano, it won’t last more than a few seconds.”
“It’s just for precaution,” Luca said. Using the wind, he sent 10 of the marbles toward Juin and said, “Keep it for Wolfe.”
Juin caught the marbles with his hands and said, “He can keep it himself.”
“For a guy who can’t even transform at will, do you think he would have a Dimensional Pouch?”
Wolfe’s expression turned thunderous. “How did you know?”
“Ever since we met…” Luca smirked, as if the answer was too obvious. “You have never pulled out a weapon before.”
Juin glanced at Wolfe and asked, “Is that true?”
Wolfe clenched his jaws and nodded.
“If not for his brother, he wouldn’t have been able to move so far ahead in the Elimination Battle,” Luca scoffed as he walked to the next item in sight.
“If you don’t speak, no one will call you a mute,” Juin said in annoyance. He then looked at Wolfe and said, “I’m sure you can create one soon…”
His voice was so full of confidence that Wolfe could not help but believe him. In fact, he did feel that his Soul Dimension had been changing recently. Previously, his Soul Dimension had been the size of a cubicle, just enough for him to take three steps in every direction.
But since a few months ago, his Soul Dimension had been growing steadily, and when he was in his Soul Dimension earlier, he realized that he was able to take ten steps in every direction. In addition, the quality of his soul power seemed to have taken a qualitative change.
Even though he could not use any difficult spells yet, he had a feeling that was about to change.
Feeling a pat on his back, he then looked at Juin, who smiled and said, “I’ll keep these for you. Once you have built a Soul Dimension, you can have them back.”
Wolfe nodded, and he soon returned to his normal self as they continued to follow Luca.
After a while, both of them had the same thought.
“This guy is looting the entire treasury!”
