The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 288
Juin quickly got into his Soul Dimension. The moment he arrived…
“Boo!”
“Ah!”
He quickly took a stumble back. The reason being that the moment he opened his eyes, Lucifer’s face was just less than an inch away from his. If he had moved forward slightly, he would have bumped into the guy’s face… or worse.
The moment he thought of the possibility that happened often in dramas, Juin could not help but shudder slightly.
“Can you not do that please?” Juin rubbed his c.h.e.s.t as he glanced at Lucifer.
“Do what?” Lucifer floated around him with his arms folded before saying, “Keep quiet. Focus and learn the spell that I’m going to teach you now. We don’t have much time!”
“Why are you so eager to know what’s hidden behind that Ghost Blinding Spell?” Juin asked as he sat down with his legs folded. He then looked up at Lucifer, who was in deep thought.
“No one would use such a strong spell to hide something insignificant. It would be a waste of time and energy,” Lucifer said. He then snapped his fingers. A small blue flame appeared on his index finger. “Look carefully. This is a spell that gives you the ability to see through the veil–Odin’s Sight. Once you have learned this, you can see more than what those losers out there can.”
Juin frowned as he tried to memorize every step. This spell had a few circular layers, as well as weird symbols trapped between the circles. And in the middle of the diagram, there was an eye-like picture. Like the one he once saw on a picture of the Illuminati pyramid.
It took him a long time to learn this spell, to the point that Lucifer was getting frustrated.
“How many times do you intend to fail?!” Lucifer snapped when another attempt at drawing the diagram failed again. It had been 5 times.
“How long did it… did it take you to learn?” Juin gasped in between breaths. Soul power aside, the concentration required to finish building the spell diagram was more tiring than anything else. It was as if he had just run 5 kilometers at full sprint. At this point, his brain felt like splitting apart.
“I got it at… Two tries!” Lucifer said with his chin up. Honestly, it took him two days to learn it. And he had learned the basics of similar spells to draw from before his father deemed him strong enough to learn Odin’s Sight. But there was no way he would let Juin know about it.
“Really?” Juin raised a brow. “Two… tries?”
“Of course!” Lucifer turned away from him and said, “Stop asking questions and keep practicing!”
…
Meanwhile, outside in the real world, even though the passage of time passed by differently, it had still been a whole 30 minutes since Juin started recuperating. Yet he showed no signs of waking up.
“Is he recuperating… or expending more soul power in his Soul Dimension?” Master Shawn glanced over at Juin while Crown Prince Warrick tried to talk Luca out of taking yet another item from the treasury.
Holding some of the weapons that “might be necessary”, Wolfe shrugged and said, “He has a special constitution.”
“Still, I better check on him,” Master Shawn said with a suspicious tone as he took a step forward. But he had only taken a step towards Juin when Wolfe suddenly stepped forward, inserting himself in the distance between Juin and Master Shawn. “Is there something you are hiding from us?”
“Please do not disturb him while he’s recuperating…” Wolfe said in a low voice while trying to balance the items on his hands. It made him look less threatening, like a child who held a bunch of toys in their arms while trying to appear an a.d.u.l.t.
There was a short period of standoff, until Crown Prince Warrick noticed it and called out, “Shawn, leave the kid alone…”
“But Your Highness…”
“This is an order,” Crown Prince Warrick said. He looked over at Juin and said, “Look at him. What could he have done while sitting there like a statue?”
He then glanced at Luca, who was now looking at an S-rank weapon, and thought, “If you don’t help out soon, we might need to start digging into OUR own treasury to build this country!”
He did not expect this kid to be so money-minded, and such a good judge in items. Luca seemed to have the ability to sense the true power of the items, even items that had been cloaked in a spell that diminished their true nature of powers.
Wolfe, on the other hand, continued to look at Juin for a while before sighing and turning around as well. He did not know what Juin was planning, but whatever it was, it would be in their best interests to protect his physical body while he was “recuperating”.
…
Not long after they turned around, Juin’s body that was seated quietly suddenly shivered slightly, and his eyes slowly opened up; each of them revealed a complicated red diagram.
“Odin’s Sight…”
He then slowly moved his eyes from the left to the right, until he saw the thing that was hidden by the Ghost Blinding Spell slowly taking shape. Floating in midair and glowing in light blue, there was a spear…
“Huh?” Juin thought to himself as he stared at the spear.
Unlike a traditional spear, this spear had two blades; one on each side. On one side, it was a traditional single-blade spear, while on the other side, it was a three-prong spear. The spears on both sides were glowing in bright light blue and emitting the power of frost, while their shared poke was completely black. And in the middle of the pole, there was a small round hole.
“What is this feeling…” Juin mumbled as he stared at the spear. He could feel an odd energy flowing into his body, upon which his hand reached out instinctively.
“Stop!”
