The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 289
Lucifer’s sharp voice woke him up from the trance. Juin looked to the side, where Lucifer had appeared.
“W-What?”
“What did you see?” Lucifer asked. Frown lines appeared on his otherwise handsome face as he stared at Juin.
“A spear… I think,” Juin answered without any hesitation. And he proceeded to describe the unique-looking spear out to Lucifer. He also told Lucifer what he felt from the spear.
Lucifer thought for a while before nodding slowly. “It made sense…”
“What?”
“Why there would be a demon spell on it…” Lucifer said. “If I’m not wrong, that’s not a weapon that belongs to this world… At least not fully. From what you are feeling, the body of the spear must have been made with some sort of material from a demon dimension.”
“But why would I feel it?”
“Because you have two demon souls in you…” Lucifer said with a serious voice. “Demonic energies are naturally attracted to strong demons. The stronger the demons, the stronger the attraction.”
Juin nodded while keeping his eyes on the weapon.
“Take it… Possess it…”
A different voice appeared in his mind.
…
“What are you waiting for? The power is just there for you to grab…”
Seemingly controlled by the voice, Juin felt hazy for a moment. He slowly lifted his left hand and then reached toward the spear. Even though Lucifer did not know that Juin was under his twin’s control, he did not stop him. If the demonic energy called out to him, that also meant that they were compatible with each other.
Juin was sitting a distance away from the spear, yet the spear seemed to be able to sense his d.e.s.i.r.e. It trembled slightly, as if it was trying to break free from some invisible shackles. It then flew around in a circle before moving toward Juin, stopping right in front of him.
The mixture of blue light and dark glow was reflected in Juin’s eyes, which were showing the red diagrams.
The light on the spear flickered slightly, like an alarm that had gone off, and it suddenly shivered again.
“Grab it!”
Seeing that Juin was stunned, this time, two demanding voices appeared in his mind.
It seemed that the spear had second thoughts about accepting him as his owner. It was a good thing that Lucifer did not teach Juin a spell that could break the Ghost Blinding Spell, or the people outside would have noticed his odd behaviors.
Tiny beads of sweat appeared on his forehead as he grabbed the body of the spear tightly while the spear attempted to escape from his clutch.
“What’s happening?” Lucifer asked when he saw Juin’s pale face.
“It’s… trying to escape,” Juin hissed as he tried to ignore the pain. The spear was moving so fast in his hand that it created friction that almost tore his palm skin off.
“It must have sensed that your body is not fully demon,” Lucifer warned. “Be careful! Try to tame it with your soul power!”
Lucifer intended to have Juin take the weapon with them. The moment Juin touched the spear, he could feel it through him, that the power of the spear was better than he thought. Until Juin tried out the spear firsthand, it would be near impossible for Lucifer to determine its rank.
However, judging from the spear’s ability to sense the uniqueness in Juin’s body, and the fact that it was able to hide itself from him, who was basically one with Juin, it had to be at least A-rank, perhaps even S-rank.
“Don’t just fight against it with your physical strength,” Lucifer guided Juin. “Channel your soul power toward the spear and tame it!”
Juin gulped and nodded. With his left hand grasping the spear tightly to prevent it from running away, he then closed his eyes and channeled his soul power into the spear.
And the blue flame kept charging at him, chipping away at him until he got smaller and smaller.
“Release me, you imbecile! How dare a puny human like you lay your hand on me!”
Juin, in his flame form, heard the childish voice in his mind. It sounded both foreign yet familiar.
The blue flame grew even larger, and not wanting to admit defeat, Juin released more of his soul power, until he was the same size as the blue flame. However, something was amiss. Even though they were the same size, it was obvious that the blue flame was winning.
To gain more time, Juin had to play chase with the blue flame, with him being the party that was being chased. The thing with the blue flame was its odd ability. Even though they were both flames, the blue flame was able to disintegrate his flame where they touched.
And Juin had to keep channeling his soul power in.
Lucifer could sense Juin slowly losing control as his body shivered in real life; not only his palm that was holding the spear, but blood was flowing out of his eyes and ears.
“F*ck!” He then got into Juin’s dimension. Placing his hands on the white ground, he then channeled his soul power to Juin, which quickly merged with Juin’s.
His action was immediately noticed by Juin the Flame. The red flame suddenly exploded, shocking the blue flame, which had to dodge the tiny flame particles. It then stared at Juin the Flame’s new appearance.
The blue flame shivered slightly and tried to escape, but before it could even move an inch, lightning bolts fell from the never-ending sky, trapping him within.
“Surrender!”
This time, Juin’s threatening voice appeared in the blue flame’s mind.
“Surrender, or I will blast you to oblivion!”
Lucifer’s deep and demanding voice came through Juin the Flame, shocking the blue flame.
It now understood why it was attracted to this weak human in the first place. And that it wasn’t wrong when it first sensed the demonic aura within Juin when it first woke up from its long slumber. With the dimensional veil that was placed over it, normal humans would not have the ability to see it, nor would the Atlanteans; that was why it was sealed here.
So the first moment it felt someone looking straight at it, it woke up. And at that time, it felt that it was being watched by a terrifying demon.
That was until it arrived in front of the “demon” and realized that the person who woke him up was human.
“The body is human, but the soul is a demon,” the blue flame thought as it faced its opponent. It might have been sleeping for a long time, but it had seen enough to understand that this was a case of possession. “And it’s a perfect soul compatibility…?”
“Three…” Juin and Lucifer’s voices appeared in the blue flame’s mind.
“What?” the blue flame gasped.
“Two…”
“Hey, at least give me some time to think!” the blue voice argued.
“One!”
