The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 291
There was an awkward silence before Crown Prince Warrick coughed and asked awkwardly, “Can I ask something, Mr. Juin?”
“Yeah?”
“Exactly how big is your Dimensional Pouch?”
“I don’t know… I have never measured it,” Juin said with a shrug. “Anyway, does it matter?”
“No, no… I was just curious,” said the Crown Prince. He then glanced at Master Shawn before asking, “Go and make sure everything is ready.”
Master Shawn nodded and left.
“What happened?” Juin asked.
“Nothing major. Some of the citizens of the now-fallen Terre D’eau has returned…”
“You are not going to kill them, are you?” Juin asked.
“I’m not that evil…” Crown Prince Warrick smiled. “As long as they pledge their loyalty to me, they will be spared…”
The kids glanced at each other, then Juin gulped and asked again, “If they don’t…?”
“Well, Mr. Juin, I can’t possibly keep people who refuse to bow to my rule under my protection, can I? How would that be fair to the others?” Crown Prince Warrick said with a blank expression. He then signaled them to follow him. “Let’s go. So that I can send you kids back in time for your Battle game thing, you must start the journey as early as possible.”
It was obvious that he did not want the three Earthlings to be involved in the politics of his world. Without even giving them a chance to ask other questions, the Crown Prince then walked toward the door.
The three teenagers glanced at each other before walking behind him. Luca did not want to be here to begin with, Wolfe could not care much about where he was, and Juin… He had learned about the disastrous consequences of blindly trusting someone else in the last few hours that he did not want to put himself in another situation where he would only end up being used by others again.
When they got back to the royal library, Master Shawn suddenly appeared out of thin air. After bowing to his master, he said, “I have sent the orders. People who pledge their loyalty to us will be allowed back to their homes, and those who don’t will be put in jail while waiting for your order. As for the slaves that are in their hands… As per the agreement, we have sent a few guards to escort them to their brothers.”
Crown Prince Warrick nodded. He then walked into the royal library. While there, he briefed them on the thing that he wanted them to get for him. Once they had clearly understood everything, he gave Juin a talisman with purple ink and said, “This is a one-off communication device. Once activated, it will alert me. Do not use it unless you are ready to come back. Always remember the place where you arrive at, because the portal will always open in the same place!”
Juin nodded as he looked at the talisman.
The Crown Prince then stood aside and said, “If you guys are clear about everything, please stand in the diagram.”
The boys nodded and walked to stand in the diagram. After that, Master Shawn took out three bags from his Dimensional Pouch and threw the bags to the boys, who each caught one.
“There are some dried fruits, preserved food, and some beverages. They should be able to last you for 7 days.”
“After the 7th day?” Wolfe asked.
“You are on your own,” Master Shawn said with a smirk.
“You!”
“Calm down, Mr. Wolfe,” said the Crown Prince. “You are entering a volcano, not going on a fun trip. We expect you to finish in seven days… If you don’t return by the 7th day, we are going to assume that you have lost your lives. It seems harsh, but that place has been a forbidden place for everyone for a reason. And I’d advise you guys to put your bags in your Dimensional Pouch before you jump into the volcano. The heat of the volcano can burn the skin off your face, much less that of a bag.”
Wolfe looked at his bag for a few seconds before someone else took it from him. “Juin…”
“I’ll keep them for you. If we get separated, with your nose, I know you will be able to find me soon,” said Juin. He then took out a small black pouch from his Dimensional Pouch and said, “Keep these with you. They are small enough to be in your pockets. As long as your soul shield is up, the flames won’t be able to burn through it.”
Wolfe looked at the inside of the pouch and gasped, “This!”
“Keep it, just in case,” Juin said. He then threw one to Luca and said gruffly, “I just don’t want you to die here and haunt me.”
Luca frowned and checked the contents of the pouch. His eyes then went wide. Inside the pouch, three pills were glowing slightly. And he knew exactly what they were. Soul Rejuvenation Pills…
“We are a team, and I need you guys to be alive,” Juin said with a shrug. He was not saying it to make it easier for them to accept. Instead, he had thought it through.
He had flames and his hidden ice power, which was still untrained, but who knew what he would meet in the depth of the volcano. Luca’s power of the wind, as well as Wolfe’s brute strength and speed, might be useful at times. After all, unless it was absolutely necessary, he would prefer not to merge with Lucifer, not in such a dangerous environment anyway. And if they felt indebted to him because of this, it was even better…
Juin then walked to Cyrus, who had slept through everything, who was still on the study table in the library. He leaned down and gently c.a.r.e.s.sed the boy’s head before whispering, “Stay safe, Cyrus. I will definitely come back for you…”
He then looked at the Crown Prince and said, “You will take care of him, right?”
Crown Prince Warrick nodded. “If you don’t come back safely, I will take care of him as if he’s my own flesh and blood.”
Juin nodded. “You better be.”
His voice was low and full of threats, which he did not know come out of where. Regardless, he felt that he had to warn the prince not to play any tricks.
“Alright, let’s go…” Juin said, stepping in between Luca and Wolfe.
The prince took out the vial of blood. He then stood at the edge of the spell diagram and raised his hands up.
“Your Highness, maybe we can rethink…”
“No, Shawn. Do not stop me… Turn around, this is an order!”
Master Shawn gulped, and for some reason, a look of pain appeared in his eyes. He then turned around as per his master’s order.
Crown Prince Warrick poured half the blood in the vial as he mumbled something. As the blood ran through the diagram in lightning speed, it also glowed brightly in red, lighting up the boys’ faces.
Juin placed his hands on Luca’s and Wolfe’s shoulders as the ground shook. His eyes kept moving from left to right and back again nervously as the light grew brighter and brighter, until he could barely see his surroundings anymore.
Suddenly, he thought of something.
“Doesn’t he need a life sacrifice to activate this?”
