The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 297
Juin took a few steps back and looked up at the guy who was almost 5-meter tall. He could barely see the guy’s eyes. At least this guy was modest enough to wear some huge leaves around his crotch, although that two peach-like fruits where his n.i.p.p.l.es were were a little off-putting. Even so, Juin did not want to step too close to him. From his position, when he thought about what he could potentially see…
Shuddered, Juin quickly shook his head and focused.
“Who are you?” he asked warily as he kept his flaming balls up in midair.
The guy c.o.c.ked his head slightly and asked, “Me?”
His voice was gravelly and raspy, as if he had difficulty speaking. It wasn’t unpleasant, but it wasn’t pleasant as well.
“Yes, you. You’re the only one here,” Juin said as he narrowed his eyes.
“Am I?” The creature pointed a long finger at Juin and asked, “Aren’t you here too?”
“I…” Juin was rendered speechless. “Anyway, who are you?”
The creature patted his c.h.e.s.t, and as he did so, the fruit that represented his n.i.p.p.l.e moved slightly. “I am the honorable guardian of this world. My name is Eranos. Who are you?”
“Eranos…” Juin blinked. “Juin.”
“Who is he?” The guardian turned his gaze slightly behind Juin.
Juin turned and saw Lucifer floating behind him. He then turned back and asked with a curious tone, “Can you see him?”
“I am the guardian of this world. I can see everything. Who is he?”
“He’s…uh…” Juin’s eyes darted side to side as he tried to think of something. “He’s my guardian an-demon! A guardian demon!”
“A guardian demon?”
“Yeah, like a guardian angel, but he tells me to fight instead of keeping the peace,” Juin said with a smile. He could hear a snicker behind him, which told him that Lucifer agreed with his description.
“I have never heard of anyone with a guardian demon,” Eranos said with his eyes narrowed at Lucifer, who was floating in midair with his arms folded. He then looked back at Juin. Crouching down so that he can look at Juin clearer, he then slowly reached out a finger.
“Argh!” Juin tried to take a step back when the leaves around Eranos’ crotch moved, but he found himself immobile. When he looked down, he saw a vine had wrapped itself around his foot. The vine was extended out of one of Eranos’ toes.
He tried to send his flaming balls at the creature, but it was then that he noticed that everything was gone.
“What the…”
“Eranos is the guardian of this world, nothing can harm Eranos,” said the creature with an eerie smile. He reached out and poked Juin’s c.h.e.s.t softly. “You have another one inside of you.”
Juin exchanged glances with Lucifer before nodding. “Yes.”
“He’s trapped,” Eranos said. His lips turned down as he added, “Like Eranos.”
“He’s trapped for his own good,” Lucifer finally said something after staying silent for a long time. He floated up to above Juin so that he was on eye level with the creature. “But why are you trapped here? Aren’t you the guardian?”
Eranos looked at Lucifer. He blinked for a while before replying, “Eranos is the guardian of this world. Eranos cannot leave. Once Eranos leaves, this world will die.”
“What is this world?”
“This world is Eranos,” said the creature with a sigh, further confusing the two. “Eranos is this world…”
Lucifer and Juin exchanged glances, but before either of them could say anything, Eranos’ eyes suddenly became alert, and he said, “More toys.”
A reddish-orange diagram appeared in front of his body, and Juin watched both in fascination and horror as vines protruded out of his body at the same time, forming into a smaller hand. The vine-like hand then went through the diagram, except that it did not come out on the other side.
“ARGH!!!” Eranos cried out all of a sudden, and the vine-like hand from his abdomen quickly pulled back, and along with it, it brought a half-transformed crazed-like Wolfe back with him. As he flung the hand with Wolfe attached on it violently, red burning ashes were scattered in midair.
Angered, Eranos back slapped Wolfe off his abdomen hand by using his real hand.
The slap was so great that Wolfe was sent flying hundreds of meters into the air.
“Wolfe!” Juin cried, but he could not move.
One of Eranos’ hands extended over hundreds of meters and caught Wolfe before he plunged to the ground. When he pulled Wolfe back by holding his ankle with two fingers and dangling him in midair, he sniffed and frowned. “Smelly.”
He then dropped Wolfe in front of Juin.
“Wolfe!” Juin quickly caught Wolfe before he hit the ground. “Hey! Are you alright?!”
Wolfe reverted back to his normal form, but he was unconscious.
“Eranos didn’t kill him,” said the creature dryly. “He’s weak. He fainted.”
Juin quickly checked his breathing. After making sure that he did not suffer any fatal injury, he then looked at Eranos while quickly keeping the dagger back into his Soul Dimension before the giant creature noticed it.
“He stinks…” His nose twitched in annoyance. Eranos mumbled as he watched the holes in his hand heal quickly; the smoke and red ashes that came out of the hole disappeared quickly. He then looked at Juin and asked, “Why are you with him? He’s bad luck.”
“No, he’s not…” Juin said with a frown. He then gently placed the sleeping Wolfe down and looked at Eranos.
Eranos suddenly cast another spell, and not long later, Luca was pulled into the dimension as well. He was thrown down next to Juin and Wolfe.
“Argh…” Luca coughed up some blood from the impact as he struggled to stand. The first thing he saw when he stood up was thick, moving leaves. He then looked up before quickly standing back. “What’s that thing?” he hissed as he called his wind blades.
“Don’t waste your energy. This world is under his control,” Juin said. “Luca, this is Eranos, the guardian of this world.”
“Honorable guardian,” Eranos corrected.
“…” Juin sighed. “The honorable guardian of this world.”
Luca looked up at the guy. He then whispered to Juin, “He’s a tree man, isn’t he?”
“I have no idea what he is. He’s here when I woke up,” Juin said. “But yeah, his skin does look like a tree.”
Luca thought for a moment before asking, “Is this Kraesos, the land of the Leaf Giants?”
A look of recognition appeared on Eranos’ face, and his skin tone seemed to change slightly. “Yes, I think that’s what this world was called once upon a time.”
“Kraesos?” Juin looked at Luca. “What’s that?”
“It’s a dimension that I only read about in books. I thought it was just a legend. If Atlantis is a world full of people who can control the power of water, then Kraesos is a world full of people who can control the earth. Well, I say people, but according to the books, they are actually giants,” Luca explained.
He then looked at Eranos as he continued, “But no matter which books I read from, all of them agreed that Kraesos had been destroyed. Some of them even considered these Leaf Giants as nothing but a myth.”
