The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 298
Juin was curious about these Kraesos and Leaf Giants. “What do the books say? Are they really giants?”
He glanced at Eranos and thought to himself, ‘He doesn’t look like a giant. I mean, he’s tall and bigger than us, but is that the definition of a giant?’
Luca thought for a while as he tried to pull out the information from the back of his mind. After a moment of silence, he said, “There were actually a few versions. Both the consensus view was that there were two real possibilities. The first version was that, due to political strife, the Leaf Giants split into two factions and the internal war eventually destroyed the entire world. The other version was that the Leaf Giants were attacked by greedy foreign enemies, who arrived at Kraesos through the portals.”
“Are there a lot of portals here?”
“For many, Kraesos was a land of opportunity. If we divide the dimensions into ranks, then Kraesos would be a mid-rank dimension. Those from the higher-rank dimensions can come here without that many repercussions and restrictions, while those from the lower-rank dimensions can also come here to train,” Luca explained.
He then looked far into the distance. “But this is not the Kraesos that I had in my mind when I first read about it. Is this really Kraesos?”
He then looked at Eranos and asked, “If this is Kraesos, what really happened here?”
As if he was triggered by Luca’s words, memories that were long forgotten with the passing of time crept up in his mind, causing Eranos to undergo the most intense headache that he had suffered in a long time.
Voices that he could not recognize at first started to appear in his mind, almost as if they were speaking next to him.
“Eranos, we are Kraesosians, the Leaf Giants. We are the leaders and owners of this beautiful world. Never forget that.”
“Eranos, keep living. You are our hope. Don’t hide. Fight against the intruders.”
“Kill them, Eranos! Get stronger and kill them!”
“Eranos, protect this world with your life.”
“Even if we are all gone, you must protect this world!”
Images and people that he had forgotten, their smiles, their voices, and their laughter… The sceneries of the old world…
“ARGH!!!” he yelled out all of a sudden as he grabbed the side of his head. More and more forgotten memories started to come out from the back of his mind.
“Kill the intruders!” he snapped.
“DANGER!” Juin suddenly grabbed Wolfe and jumped out before Eranos smashed both his fists down on them.
BOOM!
The fists created two deep indentations in the pure white sand, causing thick walls of sand that were tens of meters tall to temporarily block the boys’ sights.
“Luca, are you alright?!” Juin yelled at the wall of sand in front of him while carrying Wolfe behind his back. He kept glancing around, in case another attack came at him.
“Worry about yourself!” Luca’s infuriating tone came back from behind the walls of sand. He was standing on alert with his soul shield up to avoid the falling sand.
When the sand finally settled down where the fists landed, they could see one huge crater that was at least 5 meters deep and 10 meters wide.
“Intruders must die!!!” Eranos roared as he stood up. His body grew tens of times bigger, until he fit the definition of a giant. He was so tall that he seemed to almost reach the sky.
BAM!
The sky seemed to split open as dark clouds appeared in what was previously a completely white sky.
And they were smart to do so, because in a split second, sharp white branches protruded from below the ground, threatening to cut through even a strand of hair.
Both boys felt the attack coming from the tremors, and they managed to dodge it by jumping back in a line. However, it wasn’t easy. No matter how high they jumped, the branches seemed to be able to grow as tall as them.
They could only keep jumping backward.
“Soul Fire!” Juin roared as he called upon a few flaming balls behind him. However, before he could throw them up, a few wind hands appeared and slapped the flaming balls away. “What are you doing?!” he yelled as he continued to jump to dodge the sharp branches that kept coming out from the sandy ground.
It was already hard enough to see the branches, given how they just blend in with everything else, he did not need anymore distractions from his homicidal teammate!
“You can’t! That’s your attack that can attack a person’s soul, right?” Luca said, sending a few wind blades to cut the branches. “If you do it, we will all die!”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t think we are in Kraesos!” Luca snapped, sending a series of wind blades that formed into an S-shaped boomerang before cutting through the branches in front of him.
“We-” Juin thought about Eranos’ words earlier. He was the world, the world was him. “Are you saying that we are in his Soul Dimension?! How’s that possible?!”
“I don’t know! But we are physical beings in his soul world!” Luca yelled back. He quickly placed his arms in front of him when a punch made for vine came for him. A shield appeared in front of his arms immediately and blocked the punch. “Anyway, don’t hurt his soul! If his soul collapses, so would we!”
“Die! Die! Die!” Eranos roared as he pointed at them with all his ten fingers. Bright green diagrams appeared in front of each finger as he yelled, “Earth Bullets!”
In less than three seconds, hundreds of white bullets were shot out of his fingers, heading straight at the boys.
“F*ck!” Both boys cursed as they did their best to dodge the lightning-fast bullets.
“Isn’t it made of the earth?! Why is it white!!!” Juin argued as he formed a flaming shield in front of him. The attacks were coming from both top and bottom now, and the bullets were so strong that they bent the shield back slightly, making it into a slight arc instead of a straight shield. “It should be f*cking brown!”
It was harder for him because of the deadweight behind him, yet there was no way he could just leave Wolfe on the ground when he was unconscious!
When he was pushed until he was next to Luca, Juin hissed, “We can’t keep dodging! If I can’t attack his soul, can I attack his physical body? Is that even his physical body?!”
“I’ll try!” Luca quickly cast his Rings of Wind and sent the tornadoes towards the rampaging Eranos.
“HAHAHA!” Eranos laughed like a maniac as vine wh.i.p.s rushed out of his abdomen and slashed the tornadoes into smaller tornadoes. Those wh.i.p.s then turned into hands before slapping the tornadoes away.
While Eranos dealt with the tornadoes, Luca had already pulled out his weapon, Shadowmoon!
“Rings of Wind – Shadowmoon!” he roared as he jumped up and whipped a few times toward Eranos. Unlike before, the strength of this spell that was enhanced with his weapon increased a hundred folds.
The tornadoes that were created by this attack could not be cut by Eranos’ vine wh.i.p.s. Taken by surprise, Eranos was too late in dodging.
BAM!!!
The tornadoes hit him both in the abdomen and the face, causing the giant to topple over!
