The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 299
BAAAAMMM!!!
Eranos was so big that when he fell, the sound it created was so loud that it could be heard miles and miles away, and there even seemed to be an echo!
A huge human-shaped crater was formed. No. A giant-shaped crater was more like it. The
cracks that were created from the side of the giant crater ran deep and far, and from above, it looked like a complicated spiderweb.
“ARGH!!! INTRUDERS!!!” Eranos was even angrier than earlier. A huge diagram appeared above his body, which was embedded deep in the sandy ground.
Thousands of vines came out of his limbs, snaking along the ground toward the two teenagers.
“Luca?”
“There was no disturbance around when I attacked him.” Luca nodded. “Use physical flames! It should be fine!”
Juin grinned. Physical flames were even easier to control than Soul Flames. He called upon thousands of flaming fireballs and threw them in the path of the snaking vines. The sight was both a beauty and horrifying as the vines writhed on the ground as if they were actually living creatures.
“Argh!!! It hurts! It hurts!” Eranos cried before sending out more vines. The difference was that this time, the new vines were trying to cut off the burning ones before the flames reached his physical body.
Unfortunately for him, even those these were normal flames, they weren’t normal in the sense that they could be stopped that easily. The vines that attempted to cut off their burning brethren caught in flames as well.
“Stop it! Stop it!” Eranos pleaded as his giant body writhed about.
Looking at him, Juin felt bad. He tried to extinguish the flames, but for some reason, the flames were getting out of control!
“What’s happening?!” Juin yelled as he tried to extinguish the nearest flames. When he was done with one part, he moved to the other, but the flames that were extinguished quickly lit up again.
Luca looked at the situation carefully, and after a while, they both gasped. “He’s dried up!”
“We need to think of something!” Luca said. He created hundreds of wind blades to cut the flames off. It worked, but there were too many burning vines now! And it didn’t help when Eranos was struggling around, causing the vines to keep burning each other.
Juin’s mind raced about as he tried to figure something out. After a while, he yelled at Luca, “Look after Wolfe!”
He then quickly dropped Wolfe behind Luca.
Luca gave him a quick glance and saw him taking out the “D’eau Talisman”. “What’s your plan?”
Looking at the talisman, Juin mumbled to himself, “I hope this works!”
He first flew back a few miles.
Then, using two fingers, he injected his soul power into the blue human-shaped talisman before throwing it up in midair and sending it to the top of the writhing Eranos. The blue human-shaped talisman trembled slightly before bursting in bright blue light, forming a water human that had the same silhouette as Juin’s.
“The power of the water doppelganger depends on the user, right?” Juin mumbled as he looked at his water doppelganger. A spell diagram appeared in front of him as he said in a whisper, “Enhanced Flame Body!”
Almost immediately, his surroundings turned hotter than a volcano.
But at the same time, the water doppelganger also had the same effect. Except that it seemed to be more of “Enhanced Water Body”!
Seeing that his theory was working, Juin then released a lot of soul power to fuel his Enhanced Flame Body, making it even hotter and stronger.
And the water doppelganger was doing the same with its Enhanced Water Body.
“Shield!” Juin yelled, creating a huge shield that covered a one-kilometer distance from him. The water doppelganger created a shield as well, covering one kilometer. From where the doppelganger was, he covered most of the heavily burning part of Eranos.
“Please work…” he mumbled.
“What are you trying to do?!” Lucifer roared as he watched Juin.
Juin ignored him. His eyes were on his water doppelganger, whose eyes were on him as well.
Taking a deep breath, he then roared, “Explode!!!”
The flames that formed his Enhanced Flame Body exploded outward. If there was no shield, the explosion would have burned everything in sight. Even the shield could barely keep the impact of the explosion within. It bulged up like a balloon that was quickly expanding.
The same happened to the water doppelganger. The Enhanced Water Body exploded outward, filling the inside of the shield with water. The water extinguished flames on the burning vines, leaving only a small part that was still burning outside the shield. At the same time, those vines inside the shield absorbed the water so rapidly that the water inside was quickly depleted.
But this helped to slow down the spread of the flames on the vines that were outside the shield. Taking advantage of the situation, Luca cut off the burning vines. With his body filled with water now, Eranos’ vines did not catch fire as easily.
…
Thud!
Pop!
When Luca heard the pop sound, he looked up at where the water doppelganger was. The doppelganger was gone, and in its place was a talisman that was cut in halves. The two halves then floated in midair.
Luca did not wait to watch them fall. Instead, he looked back.
Juin was lying on the ground, n.a.k.e.d. He had completed exhausted his energy again.
Luca quickly carried Wolfe up and flew over to Juin. The closer he was to Juin, the hotter the atmosphere. He
“Hey, are you alright?” Luca asked, nudging Juin’s side with his foot.
“I’m not a dead man yet…” Juin mumbled weakly as he glanced at Luca. “And don’t use your foot on me!”
“That was stupid. What if it doesn’t work?” Luca rolled his eyes.
“The flames won’t hurt me anyway…” Juin mumbled. “How’s Eranos?”
“The flames are out. He’s fine now…” Luca said as he put Wolfe down on the ground. “But you might want to put on something before you stand up…”
He then looked inside the bag that Crown Prince Warrick gave him. There was a set of spare clothes inside, so he took it out and handed it to Juin. “Take it, what are you waiting for?”
“I got no energy to even put on clothes now…” Juin g.r.o.a.n.e.d. “Just put it aside for now…”
…
Meanwhile, Eranos’ eyes seemed to show clarity compared to earlier. He was staring up at the sky, and after a while, the dark clouds dissipated. He then sat up. When he moved, the ground appeared to shake, and this caught the teenagers’ attention.
They looked over with worried expressions. If Eranos were to attack them now, they weren’t sure if they could handle it. Luca would not be able to carry both of them around, and Juin was in no state to even move, much less fight.
But Eranos’ attention wasn’t on them. He sat for a long time with his two fists lying limp on his sides. There was a lonely aura surrounding him, as if he had just realized something.
Juin and Luca exchanged curious glances, wondering what was going on now.
“Eranos? Honorable guardian Eranos?” Juin called out in a soft voice as he looked toward Eranos. It wasn’t easy. Even though he was sitting down, Eranos was still a giant much taller than him.
“Yes…” Eranos mumbled upon hearing his name. They were miles away from each other, but he could hear Juin as if he were right in front of him. He then said in a breaking voice, “I-I’m the honorable guardian Eranos…”
