The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 306
In less than a few minutes, half of his entourage fell in the hands of their brethren. His friend quickly cast a spell to wake them up from their illusions. Apparently, their friends all turned into the most hideous monsters who tried to attack them, and all of them lost their minds.
It was the blob fish’s attack. The glow from the dangling ball had the power to confuse people who had a weak mental state. For those soldiers who came into the Southwestern Ocean, this was their first time here, so most of them felt fear of the unknown, and this made them easy prey for the blobfish.
And over the next few days, despite being more careful, many more soldiers died as they got deeper and deeper into the Southwestern Ocean. The closer they got to the deepest part of the ocean, the more terrifying the creatures that they had to face.
Until eventually, the king’s oldest and last bodyguard died while retrieving a small box from the deepest part of an underwater cave, where poisonous multi-colored vines lay about. Hundreds of monster bodies lay outside the cave, where the king, his friend, and the dead bodyguard were at.
After mourning for a few seconds, the king took the ring from his hand and tested it out, aiming it at the dead bodyguard’s body.
Boom!
The electric energy that was released by the ring was so powerful that it obliterated the bodyguard’s body upon contact.
Looking at the ring that was now on his finger, the king laughed maniacally. “This is good! With this, I will be able to fight against damn Adam! We will have a winning edge!”
Their bodies were covered with various colors of blood and guts, yet there were smiles on their faces.
The king turned to look at his friend who was smiling at him and said, “This is all thanks to you, brother!”
“Anything for you, Your Majesty,” the friend said with a smile. His silver eyes formed into upside-down crescent moons as he showed happiness for his friend’s newfound treasure. “Our trip here is not a waste then. We should get back soon, or Adam is going to wonder if I’m late.”
The king laughed and nodded. “Yes, let’s go back. I need to tell my son about this. By the way, about the ring…”
His eyes narrowed as he faced his foreign friend. No matter what, people were selfish, and he had no doubt that his friend might ask more for this treasure.
“As agreed upon, you can keep it. However, in return, you will keep your promise and agree to send your troops when I need it.”
The king stared at him for a few seconds before grinning. “Yes, of course! If I can control Atlantis with this, I will definitely send you the troops that you want whenever you need it!”
“Good…”
“Let’s head back then,” said the king as he cast a spell on himself. His blue hair that was previously slightly stained by blood was now clean again. Putting his arm around his friend’s shoulders, he said, “Presley.”
However, not long after they exited the sea and flew up in midair, they realized that they were chased by a group of shadow creatures. Both of them got injured in the fight despite clearly being one of the strongest in this world.
Eventually, they realized that the shadow figures were basically them, in shadow forms.
“How are we going to win against these monsters, Presley?” King Alphonse asked, as he grabbed onto Presley and dashed for the sea.
However, before he could get into the sea, he heard Presley say, “By you dying…”
…
Back in the present,
“And that’s how I came to be in this god-forsaken place…” the now old King Alphonse said with a sigh. Upon realizing that Juin was sent by his son, he released Juin and after a while, he began to talk about his experience as well as how he came to this. “That old fox must have used something that could take one’s soul out. That’s how he trapped me here without me knowing it.”
“Presley again…” Juin shook his head with a frown. “But why…”
“Say, how do you know my son again?”
“Oh, I was here with the Order of the Supernatural Code…”
“You!” The old man riled up again. “You are with that old fox!”
Juin quickly jumped back before the man’s hand could reach him. “Well… Yes and no. I’m in the Order, and he’s the President, but we are in no way associated with each other more than that.”
He then said with a serious expression, “I’m not in the same group as him. I just want to go back to Earth. That’s why I agreed to help Crown Prince Warrick.”
He then told King Alphonse what had happened prior to him entering the ring, and when he was done, King Alphonse stared at him for a long time, as if he were deciding whether or not to believe the strange young man in front of him.
Eventually, he decided that he had no choice. He could always decide later.
“Wait… Why is he the Crown Prince?”
“Er… What?”
“Warrick is my youngest son. Aeson is my oldest. He should be the Crown Prince…”
Juin thought for a while. He then said, “One moment please…”
After a few blinks, he looked at Lucifer, who was right in front of him, and nearly fell back.
“I told you not to do that…”
“So, what happened? Who is inside?” Lucifer asked.
“Before that…” Juin looked at Wolfe and Luca. With a serious tone, he asked, “Do you guys know about the royal family of Wisterion?”
…
30 minutes later, Juin was back inside the ring.
“Err…” He felt awkward, not knowing when or where to start his story.
“Keep going, boy,” said the old man as he played with his beard.
“At the moment, Warrick is your only living son…” Juin said after taking a deep breath. When he saw the frown appearing on the man’s face, he continued, “There was an internal war in the palace of Wisterion over the last two decades. The king…”
“What?”
“There is a king at Wisterion. I have never seen him but I guess that he looks exactly like you.”
The old man clenched his fists. “Continue…”
“In order to decide on a successor, the king pitted your sons against each other. Your four eldest sons all died in the fight for the throne, leaving only Warrick,” Juin said, repeating what Wolfe and Luca told him earlier. “Warrick was spared because he was sent to Arconia to be a hostage prince when he was five, and he was there for five years, during which, your older sons had killed each other off.”
“Why was Warrick sent to Arconia? That’s the capital of our enemy! We are not that weak that we have to send a hostage prince!” the old man snapped.
“Err… Westerion has been falling rapidly in the last twenty years. The king has been spending most of his time drinking and visiting… brothels.”
“Who is this king?!” the old man roared, grabbing Juin’s neck. out of anger and frustration. “I AM THE KING!”
“I… don’t know…” Juin frowned, struggling to get himself away from the old man. “You would have to ask him yourself.”
“How am I supposed to do that? There is no way out of this place!” the old man roared, releasing an aura so terrifying that it was solid enough to push Juin a few meters away.
“I can help you,” Juin said.
