The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 307
The two then had a long discussion, and after what seemed like an eternity, Juin left the ring and went back to his physical body. He then relayed everything to his teammates, omitting the information about Presley. To be honest, he nearly mentioned Presley’s name, but he stopped himself at the last second and glanced at Luca.
He did not know where Luca stood on this matter, nor did he trust the guy yet. To him, Luca was more than just a nuisance; he was also someone who could very well be Presley’s loyal puppet. Thus, he merely referred to Presley as “King Alphonse’s friend”.
When he was done, Wolfe’s jaws opened slightly while Luca went into deep thought.
“No matter when or where, relationsh.i.p.s can easily be broken with the right temptation…” Eranos said with a sigh.
“No,” Juin said with a shook of his head. “Relationsh.i.p.s aren’t fragile, but a person’s mind is. Besides, I believe that King Alphonse’s friend never had the intention of being his friend at all. Right from the beginning, everything had been part of his plot. As to what it was, one could only guess.”
He then looked at the ring and said, “I will bring the king back to his son so that they can reunite. As for how to get the king out from the ring, we can try to figure it out later.”
When he was about to stand up, he heard Eranos say in a cold voice, “You want to take my treasure away?”
“Err…” Juin nearly slapped himself for forgetting that Eranos was the king of this world, and all kings, no matter how polite they were, had their own tempers and peculiarity. He then bowed politely at Eranos and said, “Apologies, King Eranos. I should have asked for your permission. Can I bring this ring back with me? After all, it’s just laying in your pile of treasures, and you are unable to do anything with it.”
Eranos c.o.c.ked his head slightly, and after a few seconds of silence, he gave Juin a friendly smile.
“No.”
“Err…” Juin was taken aback by his answer, which didn’t match his expression.
“That’s my treasure. Even if I can’t do anything with it, it’s mine. No one can take it…” He then leaned forward in his chair, putting an elbow on the arm of the chair, and smirked. “Neither can any of you…”
At this moment, all of them felt hostility coming from him, and they quickly jumped back, creating a huge distance between them and Eranos.
“King Eranos, what do you mean?”
“All of you will stay here with me, and you will give me all your treasures as well!” As he said this, his tone turned ominous and the color of his eyes turned darker. A powerful aura was exuded and pressed onto the teenagers.
“I thought he’s a friend, but he turns out to be the same as Luca!” Wolfe murmured under his breath as he struggled to fight back against the aura.
PAP!
A slap that was meant for the back of his head was blocked by his hand. He then glanced at Luca and smirked. “Was I wrong?”
“Shut up!” Luca hissed and glared at him for a few seconds before looking back at Eranos. Unlike earlier, this was a battle of aura suppression, and unlike earlier, Eranos’ mind was fully awakened, and he had better control and thinking ability now. If they could barely defend themselves earlier, they were nothing but ants to Eranos now.
With a more politically correct tone, he said as beads of sweat rolled down his cheeks, “Your Majesty Eranos, what can we do in order to leave?”
Eranos smiled and leaned back. He crossed his legs and thought for a while before replying, “Nothing. I want all you here with me. You are all the most interesting creatures I have seen in a very long time…”
Luca glanced at Juin, who was also suppressed by Eranos’ aura, albeit to a lesser extent. At least, even though Juin had a slight frown on his face, his knees had yet to buckle.
Juin was still staring at Eranos, seemingly challenging his authority.
And Eranos had obviously noticed this.
“You are the one that I cannot allow to leave…” Eranos said as he narrowed his eyes at Juin. “I have never seen anyone with your aura…”
Yes, he saw Juin’s aura at the moment because Juin had released them on Lucifer’s order. There was no way Lucifer would allow Juin to kneel to anyone but him, so he had taught Juin how to control his aura before. On one hand, it was so that Juin could keep his true strength hidden until the time was ripe. On the other hand, it was so that Juin could effectively use it against those, like Eranos, who tried to suppress them with the aura.
Like how he could see Lucifer, Eranos could also see Juin’s aura, something that Juin himself could not see yet. The black constantly moving aura that surrounded Juin made Eranos frown and worry. For reasons unknown, scenes of his family and friends slaughtered before him appeared in his mind, as well as the scent of blood from those many, many years ago.
Juin’s aura seemed to make everything appear as if they happened just a few minutes ago.
“Yes,” Eranos said as his eyes glowed slightly in green, upon which the aura that he exerted on everyone else was lessened. However, that was not the end to this. He might have lessened the pressure on Wolfe and Luca, but the amount of pressure on Juin was quadrupled.
Beads of sweat started to appear on Juin’s forehead. He was already exhausted from the battle earlier and had barely gained back enough strength to stand up, and now, he had to constantly exert his soul power in order to maintain his aura and to push back against Eranos’ pressure.
“Your Majesty…” Juin muttered under his breath, thinking that Eranos could not hear him.
He was wrong.
“Your Majesty…?” Eranos c.o.c.ked his head to the side and looked at Lucifer. “Are you also a monarch like me?”
Lucifer smirked. “Like you?”
He then laughed. “I’m way above you! Juin!”
At his signal, Juin yelled, “Merge!!!”, right before his knees buckled.
However, his knees never reached the ground. An eerie aura was blasted out, the strength of which felt by Luca and Wolfe physically as they were both pushed back a step by it.
When he stood up straight again, his eyes were red, and there was a murderous look on his face as he said, “This… has become a higher dimension because of the deaths of so many of your people… And as such…”
Five pillars of flames appeared around him in a circle, shooting up into the sky; the heat of which could be felt from hundreds of miles away.
Thankfully, Luca had foresee this and had enveloped both him and Wolfe in a soul barrier the moment Lucifer said “deaths”.
“The restrictions are lesser,” Lucifer said. The moment the word “lesser” was out his mouth, he was already gone from view.
BAM!!!
An explosion occured when he slammed his fist into Eranos’ crossed arms. He had aimed at Eranos’ face, but the guy had plenty of battle experience, both his and his people’s combined, and thus, he managed to react in time.
“ROAR!!!” Eranos roared as he pushed Lucifer back a few hundred meters.
