The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 310
“Lucifer, no!!!” Juin yelled from within the Soul Dimension just as Lucifer raised the sword to attack Eranos. “If you hurt him, we will all die!!!”
However, his voice fell to deaf ears.
“Something is off…” Juin mumbled, yet he could not tell what was wrong.
What he and Lucifer did not realize was the danger of the sword that his body, and Lucifer’s soul, was wielding at the moment.
The Sword of the Daemon King, which was forged by Lucifer’s demon ancestor, had had its blood sacrifice, and it had been partially awakened, making it hard to be contained as before. What was worsening it was Lucifer’s bleeding palm, which was clasped around the hilt. It started to tremble as the blood further bled into it, further feeding into the sword’s bloodl.u.s.t, and coincidentally, activating the sword’s true power.
The black aura became even more ominous as the scent of death permeated the surroundings. The black souls that only Eranos could see earlier became even more apparent, to the point that Luca was able to see it as well.
“What the hell…” Luca gasped when he saw the clouds of souls around “Juin”‘s body. He, who had not been afraid when he was battling Juin, even when Lucifer took over Juin’s body, suddenly shivered as fear started to form itself in his heart.
Even though he did not know what those black clouds were, and even though he was quite a good distance away, he could feel the power of resentment, grudge, and hatred coming from them.
As for Eranos, who was the direct participant of the battle, he could not help but wrinkle his nose when he smelled the blood and the scent of death, and his eyes quickly darted over to Wolfe, who was slowly losing consciousness again.
This time, Luca’s eyes were glued to the battle scene, and he failed to see Wolfe’s transformation.
“The same scent…” Eranos said, looking back at Juin. He cast the strongest shield that he could think of, creating a translucent tortoiseshell that surrounded him. Multiple green diagrams appeared around the translucent tortoiseshell, and a few more layers of tortoise shells appeared on top of each other, further enhancing the shield ability while thickening it.
The final outermost layer glowed in a bright green before spikes started popping out of everywhere, providing an offensive ability to the shield as well.
“Guardians! UP!”
Eranos’ feet started to glow with spell diagrams as he formed a seal with his hands, upon which, six dark-brown earth giants appeared around him, each holding a spear that was exuding Rank-A energy signature. Each of these giants was the size of Eranos, making them look like 6 mountains that appeared out of the earth.
Lucifer laughed maniacally as he swung his sword toward the nearest earth giant. No, to be clear, he sent out a black flame that extended over 50 meters in length. The flame solidified itself, turning into the sharpest and strongest sword aura, as it went for the nearest earth giant.
These earth giants had bodies that were sturdier than steel, yet under the attack of the ancient sword, they were reduced to their original state—sand.
The earth giant had its head lopped off before its spear could even be fully raised. Its body was stunned for a few seconds before crumbling like a sandcastle that was kicked by some naughty kids.
The remaining earth giants stopped in their tracks and looked at each other for a split second. Suddenly, two earth giants ran to the front, acting as the attacking guards, while the remaining three giants stood in front of Eranos, protecting him with their spears.
Feeling Juin’s body weakening again, Lucifer popped in a couple more pills, buying himself a few more minutes. He raised his sword against the giants’ crossed spears and charged toward them.
BAM!!!
This time, instead of using a flame, Lucifer relied solely on the strength of the sword. The battle scene looked like the painting of David vs Goliath, yet who was the real underdog here?
These two giants were stronger than their dead comrade, and their combined spears withstood the attack. Even so, they were barely a match for Lucifer.
The impact was so great that they were sent flying, all the way toward where Luca and Wolfe were… while Lucifer merely took a step backward.
“F*ck!” Luca immediately grabbed Wolfe and dashed off just in time before the giants landed on where they were.
POOF!!!
Crack!!!
The earth caved in under the earth giants while walls of sand flew up 20 meters into the air before falling down in a cascade.
The two giants did not take time to rest. They immediately jumped back onto their feet and rushed to attack Lucifer, who was now walking toward the remaining three earth giants.
…
“Lucifer! Lucifer!” Juin yelled, but it was to no avail. It was as if Lucifer had completely blocked him off… Or worse… He had lost control. Juin was sure of it.
“But why…” Juin frowned. Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he mumbled, “Could it be…”
Looking around, he then shouted, “What’s happening to Lucifer? Did you do this to him? Stop it! Stop him! If Eranos dies, then we will all be trapped here forever! Hades! HADES!!!”
He kept yelling, but there was no reply.
“Not necessarily…” A chuckle accompanied the voice. “But I will save him in exchange for a favor…”
…
Juin wasn’t wrong.
Lucifer was losing control of himself. No, he had actually already lost it. He had not expected this, nor did he realize it. All he could feel was the bloodl.u.s.t that he was born with, the anger of being thrown into a world where he had to rely on a puny human for survival, the sadness of knowing his friends and family might be in danger without him there, the fear that he might never be able to go home.
All the negative feelings within him were brought to the surface, making him just want to destroy everything in sight. He had lost his ability to rationalize and was completely overtaken by his eagerness to kill and conquer.
“DIE!” he roared as he stabbed the sword into one of the earth giants’ eyes, before pulling it out and stabbing it into its throat, coming out from the other side. With an evil laugh, Lucifer then pulled the sword all the way down. These earth giants, while formed by magic, were still considered life forms, and like all life forms, they felt pain. Blood, or rather, sand, started to pour out from this poor giant’s wounds as his body was cut apart.
The only difference between them and other life forms was that they were born for one purpose, and they would keep going until they complete their purpose. In this case, it would be to protect Eranos from harm. Even if they had their own willpower, they were driven by this purpose.
“Kill!” the remaining four earth giants roared in unison as they surrounded Lucifer, who was now bathed in the fallen sand of their dead comrade.
