The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 318
“Kill…” Juin frowned. “Wouldn’t that be destroying your father’s physical body? That’s not a good idea, is it?”
Crown Prince Warrick shook his head. “The idea is to put him in a near-death situation and get the foreign soul to leave my father’s body willingly. The moment the soul leaves, I will put my father’s true soul back into his body. With the medical team that I have, I believe that I can do it.”
“But,” Juin thought about it and asked, “How are you going to pull your father’s soul out of the ring?”
“There’s a way,” Crown Prince Warrick said as he rolled the ring in his hand. “We might be unable to leave this world now, but in the ancient times, we were explorers, and I have found records on the Soul Transference Ring in our own royal library…
“That man thought that he could deceive everyone, so he has never bothered to erase any trace that could be linked to the Soul Transference Ring. Then again, he probably thought that it would raise more suspicion if he were to order people to destroy information on it…
“Whatever his reasonings were, I’m just happy that he didn’t do it.”
“How about-” Juin wanted to say something, but he was pulled back by Luca.
“We wish you all the best, Crown Prince Warrick. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to witness your feat as we really have to go back to Earth,” Luca said while glaring at Juin, warning him to shut up. “We have something important that we have to get back to.”
Crown Prince Warrick nodded. “Of course. You boys have helped me a great deal. From here onward, it would be my own battle.”
He then looked at Master Shawn and nodded at him.
Master Shawn then took out a parchment and handed it to Juin and the boys. “This is the map to Acronis.”
“That’s… Atlas’ country, right?” Juin asked as he looked at the old map.
Master Shawn nodded. “Everyone thought that Atlas closed off all the portals, except for the one that opens up periodically above here. But the truth is, there’s one other portal available.”
He then pointed to a mountain in Acronis. “The Purple Flower Mountain. It’s located 2 kilometers northwest of Acronis. Rumor has it that there’s a waterfall near the top of the mountain, and behind the waterfall is a cave where the portal is at.”
“Rumor?” Luca repeated in disbelief. Then his face turned red with anger. He stepped forward until he was right below Master Shawn’s nose. He hissed, “That’s all you have? A rumor?! We nearly died!”
“It’s better than nothing,” Master Shawn said with a blank expression as he looked at the angry teenager in front of him. “Anyway, it’s not exactly a rumor. There’s definitely something there.”
“What do you mean?” Juin asked.
“A long time ago, Wisterion sent a few explorers to the mountain in search of the portal, and we did find the waterfall. The only problem was that the explorers were stopped outside by guards.”
The boys exchanged glances and signaled Master Shawn to continue.
“Stone Guards. Guardians. According to the explorers, not only were there powerful guardians in front of the cave, but there was also a barrier that prevented them from going into the cave. We sent a few more teams over, but no one managed to go past the guards, much less enter the cave.”
“Great!” Luca g.r.o.a.n.e.d. “Another dangerous piece of speculation. For all we know, it’s just some stupid gold bars inside…”
“It’s not like you don’t like gold bars,” Juin pointed out.
“Not if we can’t get back!” Luca snapped.
“Stop it, you two,” Wolfe said with a sigh. He massaged his glabella and said in annoyance, “We don’t have a choice now, do we?”
“We really believe that there’s a live portal and that Atlas left the portal alone. Otherwise, there’s no reason for the barrier AND the guardians. That would be a bit overkill. There are easier ways to hide treasures,” Master Shawn explained.
“Why do you think that there’s a portal there?” Juin asked.
This time, it was the Crown Prince who answered, “The Purple Flower Mountain was a sacred land for the Acronisians. Everyone knows that there’s a portal on the mountain, but to where, no one other than the ancient Acronisians know. Apparently, it was supposed to be where their ancestors came from.”
“So, even if there’s a portal, there’s no guarantee that we can get back to Earth,” Luca grumbled. He then punched a pillar out of anger before wincing in pain and rubbing his sore knuckles. “This is all your fault, Juin!”
Juin ignored him and looked at Warrick.
“But at least you will have a chance of going back to Earth,” Warrick said. “You can’t open new portals here, but from another dimension, if you have the spell, you can do it.”
“But we don’t have any spells…” Wolfe said with a sigh.
“We have,” Warrick said. He pulled out a parchment from his Dimensional Pouch and handed it over to Juin. “This is one of the spells that my ancestors used to open up dimensions. I’m not sure if it can still be used, but there’s no doubt that once upon a time, it’s functional. You will have to try out in the other world.”
Juin glanced at Lucifer, who nodded and said, “Just take it, I have a spell that could actually work. Otherwise, we can just look for something in the Book when no one’s looking.”
Juin took the parchment and looked at Luca and Wolfe. “We don’t have a choice now. It’s either we die trying or get stuck here for the rest of our lives.”
“Whose fault is it…”
“Let’s not waste time by discussing whose fault it is,” Juin said with a nonchalant wave of his hand. He then looked at the Crown Prince and said, “Thank you for letting us know.”
“At the moment, other than the now gone Acronis, Wisterion is the nearest kingdom to the Purple Flower Mountain. I won’t bring you into Wisterion in case that man’s suspicion is triggered, but I can leave you a few miles away from Acronis. If we hurry, you guys can reach Acronis in two days, tops!” Warrick said with a smile.
