The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 326
While Juin and his teammates were heading towards their next destination, something was happening in a different dimension…
Inside a cave that was so cold, it had ice covering the walls from top to bottom. Sharp and thick icicles that looked like they could freeze someone with a single touch stabbed out the ground and ceiling along the entrance, forming some kind of a cage structure.
Deep within the cave, a slab of icy blue crystal lay close to the wall, and the temperature here seemed to be lower than anywhere else in the cave. Oddly enough, other than the slab of blue crystal that was almost half-a-man tall and big enough for two grown men to lie on feet to head, the immediate surroundings did not have any signs that reflected the temperature.
A platinum blonde-haired man was sitting on a slab of crystal as he stared at the image of the black-haired man with the pensive look on the ship. With a slight smile, he raised his hand and made a grabbing motion, upon which the image dispersed into purple dust and flew away with the wind.
“I’m glad…” he murmured as he turned his head to look at a wall of ice that was created by the icicles.
The man took out a few pieces of yellow talismans with images drawn on it out of his Soul Dimension and shot them towards the stalactites and stalagmites. Bright blue rays burst out, and these stalactites and stalagmites then retracted back to the ceiling and ground respectively, revealing a group of marble statues, the highest of which was almost 10 meters tall.
With reverence in his eyes, he looked at the statue that was revealed last.
This was a statue of a man who had the reddest crimson eyes, which no one else in all the worlds could possibly have, and hair as black as the darkest night. The black-haired man sat on a throne that had heads of various monsters carved onto it, and in one of his hands was a huge skull that looked like it belonged to some monsters. His long, toned legs were stretched out fully, lying on a pile of monster corpses in front of him as if they were footstools. A huge sword was stabbed through the monster corpses as if they were shish kebab.
His legs were crossed at the ankles, and there was a bored and arrogant expression in his eyes as he peered down from his high throne. His free hand was on the head of a humongous black hound that reached his waist. In fact, the marble that the hound was carved out from seemed to be burning in black flames that appeared and reappeared periodically. The hound’s sharp red eyes looked like its owner’s, like they could see through one’s past and future.
It was also peering down like its owner.
Standing on the other side of the black-haired man was a young man who was standing straight with his arms behind his back. The young man had two horns coming out of his temples and scales running down his exposed arms.
His eyes gazed briefly at the last man, the one who was standing behind the hound. “It’s tough being the only one with the memories…”
The platinum blonde-haired man smiled sadly and said, “You guys are all reunited, but when are you guys going to be strong enough to come home… Emrys, Cerberus?”
He then looked at the black-haired man’s crimson eyes. “Hades?”
Back on Atlantis,
“It’s time for us to say goodbye,” Crown Prince Warrick said as he looked at the four boys. He reached out a hand as he said, “May we meet again in a different circ.u.mstance.”
“Your Highness…” Master Shawn said, disapproving of his action of reaching his hand out first. After all, he was a crown prince.
“Chill-lax, Shawn,” Crown Prince Warrick said as he winked at Wolfe, who taught him some of the words from Earth. “We are friends here. Besides, these boys have risked their lives for us.”
He then looked at Juin, who smiled and stepped forward to shake his hands. “Your Highness, I hope you do the right thing and that you succeed. If we ever meet again…”
“I will,” Crown Prince Warrick said. “And don’t worry about the heirs of the Terre D’eau. We will look for Renaud, Iris, and of course, Cecile, and I assure you that I will treat them fairly. No matter what, Renaud has been a worthy opponent to me. As long as he agrees with me, he will come to no harm… But…”
“I understand,” Juin said. “In the meantime, regarding what happened to King Tomas, I hope that you can make an announcement to everyone that he was murdered, as well as his parents.”
“Of course, that goes without saying…” Crown Prince Warrick said with a solemn expression. The previous king and queen took care of him and did not abuse him when he was there as a hostage prince. He would never forget their kindness.
“Your Highness,” a guard greeted as he rushed over. “The ship is ready!”
Crown Prince Warrick nodded and looked at the boys. “It has been nice meeting you boys,” he said. Looking at Luca and Wolfe, he added, “You two as well…”
These two had the nerve to nod reluctantly, after robbing him of so much magical equipment.
“Well, we will get going first then,” Luca said as he climbed onto the railings of the main ship and jumped down to the much smaller one that was fully loaded with necessities. With the help of the ship crew, who were controlling the seawater, the boat barely rocked when he landed on it.
“Thanks for the gifts, Your Highness,” Juin said with a smile while Wolfe shook the crown prince’s hand. “I hope all goes well for you guys…”
“Likewise. I hope you guys get home safely, and I’m really sorry about what happened,” Crown Prince Warrick said with a rueful grin. “And I’m truly sorry to put your lives in danger, but I had no choice.”
“You did have a choice. You could have left whatever happened to your father an unsolved mystery and spared us from the danger,” Juin said with a sharp tone. However, he quickly sighed and added, “But I understand why you did what you did. I just hope that you won’t do this kind of thing anymore.”
“No more,” Crown Prince Warrick replied with a stoic expression.
“Let’s go!” Luca yelled from the smaller ship.
Hearing that, Cyrus stuck his tongue out at the crown prince and Master Shawn before jumping onto the ship to join Luca.
“Well, it might take a while before he forgives you guys,” Juin said with a shrug.
“Understandable.” Crown Prince Warrick took out a small pouch and gave it to Juin. “I heard that he likes candies, so please give this to him on my behalf. It’s the best-selling candy in Wisterion.”
Juin nodded as he took the pouch and put it into his backpack. “Till next time, Your Highness…”
He then jumped off the railings and onto the small ship, with Wolfe following right behind him.
The moment they landed on the ship, they turned and nodded at the crown prince before releasing the sail of the ship. It was a simple one that was designed according to Luca’s description. The native Atlanteans did not need it, but Luca needed it to steer.
After saying their customary bye, Luca called for the wind and took them in the direction of the Purple Mountain.
“Do you think we will meet again?” Crown Prince Warrick asked Master Shawn as they watched the small ship getting further and further away from them.
“That would be up to fate,” Master Shawn said with a solemn expression. “But I have a feeling that the next time we meet, each of the boys would be very different from what they are now.”
