The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 332
Two imposing Stone Guardians stood in front of them, each of them wielding a 5-meter long guandao. The two Stone Guardians glared down at the intruders.
“Who dares to intrude upon the resting place of Goddess Persephone?” roared the Stone Guardians.
Then, without warning, they crossed their guandaos at the blade and slashed it down, sending blades of wind towards the boys.
Yet the boys did not even blink an eye.
The guardians frowned, but they soon realized why.
Just a few seconds before the attacks reached the boys, they were stopped and dispersed by someone.
“Wind?” Luca sneered. He snapped his fingers, upon which the same wind blades were formed and slashed towards the Stone Guardians again.
Despite their size, the Stone Guardians managed to nimbly jump aside. They then turned and glared at Luca through their stone eyes. “You are not from this world…”
Luca called upon a few blades of wind and sneered, “So?”
He then threw the blades towards the Stone Guardians.
This time, the Stone Guardians did not dodge. They merely slashed their guandaos down at the incoming blades, breaking the wind blades apart. These wind blades, despite being made of wind, did not break upon being cut. Instead, they slashed past the two Stone Guardians and cut through tens of branches behind them.
“Foreign humans are welcome…” said the Stone Guardians as they bowed at Luca. “You may proceed.”
“Wait, what?” Juin gasped in disbelief. “That’s all?”
He looked at Luca, who looked back and shrugged. The boys exchanged glances with each other before slowly making their ways into the cave. First, it was Cyrus and Luca. Then Juin and Wolfe.
“Halt!”
They glanced back and saw both Stone Guardians pointing their guandaos at Wolfe. “She cannot leave!”
Juin whispered, “Take her in first and go as deep as you can.”
He then pushed Wolfe into the cave before the latter could say anything. When the two angry Stone Guardians tried to chase them, Juin stood between them.
“Why can’t she leave?” Juin asked as a glow appeared on his right palm.
The two Stone Guardians glanced at each other before turning into a normal Atlantean man’s size, along with their guandaos. In this size, they were no longer Stone Guardians. In fact, their bodies were made of flesh and blood.
In an eerie manner, they said in unison, “She’s a human of this world. She must stay here!”
Juin narrowed his eyes before asking in a low voice, “What if I insist on taking her with me?”
“Then, you will have to fight us!” the two guardians roared before charging at Juin.
The two guardians reacted quickly. In less than a split second, they regained their position and attacked Juin from two sides. Their guandaos left two sharp afterimage in the air, which continued to strike towards Juin even though Juin had jumped back from the main attacks.
“Urgh!” Juin’s Nightfall managed to block the guandaos, yet it failed to block the afterimages. The two guandao afterimages were both solid yet immaterial at the same time. While blocking, Nightfall cut through the afterimages, but that was all it could do.
Following the cut, the original 2 afterimages were split into four afterimages, which hit Juin near both his shoulders and the outside of his t.h.i.g.hs.
“Argh!!!” Juin cried out from the sharp pain as he was knocked back deep into the cave. “What the hell…”
The two guardians landed at the entrance of the cave. With every step that they took towards Juin as they chanted,
“The rules of the world must be maintained,
“The wishes of the gods must be followed,
“Keep those whose blood has been stained,
“Forgive those whose blood in us flowed.”
“Hey, they are heading for your friends,” Lucifer said. “Aren’t you going to merge?”
With his fists clenched, Juin hissed, “No need.”
He looked at the back of the two guardians, whose heads almost reached the ceiling of the cave. For some reason, he felt extremely angered by the actions of those two. A black aura burst out of him, enveloping the two guardians.
Taken by surprise, the two guardians turned to look at the boy that they thought they defeated. For the first time, they did not speak in unison.
“What’s this?” one of the guardians murmured as his skin tingled slightly. Even though he was a Stone Guardian and could not be harmed by physical attacks, he could still sense the aura surrounding him.
“I haven’t felt this aura in a long time…” said the other guardian, the look of fear could be clearly seen on his face. He grabbed his guandao tightly and asked, “Who are you?”
“My name is not for creatures like you,” Juin said slowly as he stood up. He then lifted his dark black eyes and glared at them in a majestic manner. “You are not taking anyone from me.”
Glancing at Nightfall that was held tightly in his fist, he murmured, “Nightfall… It’s me.”
As if it had a life of its own, Nightfall trembled slightly. It then suddenly released a cold piercing aura that covered Juin’s body, forming some sort of barrier between Juin and the surroundings.
The temperature within the cave suddenly dropped to below 0, and frost began to form around them.
“That dagger…” one of the Stone Guardians gasped. He grabbed his guandao, and after a brief glance at his brother, he roared, “Charge!”
The narrowness of the cave meant that they could either attack or defend. Running was not an option… Not that it mattered anyway.
The guardians and Juin fought intensely in the narrow entrance. The guardians’ guandaos stabbed forward mercilessly, and unlike before, this time, the guandaos were filled with killing intents.
They created hundreds of afterimages that cut across the distance, heading towards Juin with the aim of cutting him into hundreds of pieces.
“Juin!” Lucifer warned, yet his warning was unnecessary.
Juin held the ice sword in his hand and drew an infinity loop with the sword. As he moved, cold blue frost followed him. The infinity loop then expanded until it was touching the sides of the cave.
“Infinite Frost.”
The moment those words left his lips, the blue infinity loop then pushed forward. It did not push the guandao afterimages back, nor did it disperse them. Instead, the afterimages were frozen upon being touched by the infinity loop and fell onto the ground.
Juin lifted two of his right-hand fingers, which were pressed together, and murmured, “Disperse”, before drawing a sign in front of him.
The infinity loop dispersed immediately, and the ice sword turned back into a dagger.
Lucifer, who was watching the whole event from behind him, shook his head slowly. In his eyes, he was looking at Juin… Yet his heart told him otherwise. He could feel a sting in his eyes as he looked at Juin, who was standing in front of him.
