The Demon Kings Cowardly Vessel - Chapter 338
Juin shrugged. “Just a friend,” he said before finishing off the rest of his food. Once they were done, he said to Luca and Wolfe, “I need help from you guys.”
“What?” Wolfe asked while sipping the remaining of his milkshake. “Just say it.”
Luca merely raised a brow questioningly.
Juin tapped on the table a couple of times and glanced at Cyrus and Cecile a few seconds before saying to the boys, “Please don’t tell Presley about Cecile coming to this world.”
“Why not?” Wolfe asked curiously.
“I don’t want to get punished. Do you?” Juin said. He had thought about it for a long time. “I mean, we brought an Atlantean into this world, which is what Atlas tried to prevent. What if Presley wanted to throw her back to Atlantis?”
“He wouldn’t…” Wolfe said uncertainly. “Would he?”
“I don’t know… But he’s a pretty strict guy, right? I heard about the story where he refused to save some kid last year because the kid did not follow the protocols.”
“Oh. You mean Jack?” Wolfe sighed and nodded slowly. “Yes, I knew that story. We weren’t friends, but it created quite a commotion in the Order because it was the first time President Presley acted so harshly towards a young member of the Order. But I do understand the reasoning behind it. It’s important to follow orders, especially when you are on the hunt. Otherwise, you would be putting everyone’s life in danger…”
“Yeah… What if he wanted to maintain the relationship between Earth and Atlantis? He might choose to sacrifice Cecile… If he could sacrifice a kid from the Order, he might sacrifice a princess from a fallen kingdom in another world too.”
Wolfe looked at Cecile for a long time before sighing. “I can keep my mouth shut. I’m sure he would receive news about Cecile’s death sooner or later… The problem is…”
He glanced at Luca, and Juin did the same.
Luca noticed their glances, but he ignored them.
“Come on, Luca,” Juin said. “I know that we have our differences, but Cecile’s innocent. She’s just trying to live…”
“Do whatever you want…” Luca said as he started walking in a direction.
“Where are you going?” Wolfe called out immediately.
“The branch office!”
Wolfe glanced at Juin and after thinking for a while, he said, “I will go with him. Keep your phone with you at all times. I will send you the address in a while. You’re not that famous here, so you should be fine. Don’t worry about Luca. I will talk to him.”
Juin nodded and waved his hand, signaling Wolfe to go quickly and to keep an eye on Luca. After they left, Juin took Cecile and Cyrus and went to a quieter place. “Cecile, a friend of mine would be here shortly. He will take you to safety and teach you how to live in this world. Remember, you must always stay low and keep away from other members of the Order.”
Cecile nodded. After a while, she leaned forward and kissed Juin in the forehead, stunning him momentarily. He lifted his hand and touched his forehead while looking at her with a shocked expression.
“That’s…”
“Your expression is still the same,” the woman laughed softly, her voice was melodious and sounded lighter than when she was in Atlantis. Perhaps leaving her world behind also meant that she had left part of her painful memories behind. “A boy with your looks should have plenty of suitors… Yet you always looked like you were never kissed before.”
“I…” Juin put his hands in his pockets and smiled wryly. “I didn’t always look like this…”
He then thought of something and looked at her. After hesitating for a while, he said in a low voice, “I’m going to tell you something, but you should not ask any questions.”
She was curious, but she still nodded. “Yes, anything for you.”
“I saw your brother before, at the garden and at the brothel. He was always with you, and he wanted you to know this, that you should do your best to stay alive instead of taking revenge. Everyone wanted you to keep living…”
Hearing the garden and the brothel, Cecile had no doubts that Juin was telling the truth. She used to spend many hours in the garden with her brother, and he used to sneak off to look for his little friends, who worked at the brothel.
Her eyes lined with tears as she struggled to stay strong. She had so many questions, but in the end, she kept them to herself, respecting Juin’s wish. “T-Thank you…” Cecile said as she wiped the tears away with her palms. “If you ever need me… No, if you ever need me to lay my life for you, just tell me. Everything that is mine will be yours to control. My life included.”
“Err…” Juin was slightly taken aback, and his face flushed red. He then cleared his throat and turned around slightly as he said, “I didn’t help you while expecting something in return. If you really want to repay me, then live well and live happily in this world…”
…
The blonde hair man arrived on Earth, at the same place as Juin and his group arrived minutes earlier. The moment he arrived, he searched everywhere for them, but he could not find them.
“Damn it! They should have the scent of the damn woman’s flowers…” he cursed as he looked around carefully, completely ignoring the onlookers who were looking at him in awe.
To some humans, he looked as if he were glowing in a soft, golden glow, and they could not help getting attracted to him. However, whenever he cursed or glared at the humans, they would freeze in space and look confused.
“F*ck!”
He would never find them based on scent, of course. Little Goddess ensured of that before sending those kids back. With the Devil’s Charm in Juin’s hand, she knew the man would target him. If it were anyone else who got it, she would have cared not, but not Juin. Even if she knew she would be completely wiped from existence, she would protect him from harm.
“That b*tch!” the man cursed loudly when he finally realized that he had been played. He then walked angrily, bumping into a man. Wanting to take his anger out, he turned around and yelled, “What the f*ck! Watch where you are going!”
The other man, however, merely raised a brow. His bright green and blue eyes seemed to twinkle as he said, “What are you going to do if I don’t?”
“You!” The man glared at him, but when he noticed that the other man only had one arm, he merely sneered and turned around. If someone were to see or hear about this, he would never live it down.
“No fighting? You haven’t told me what you are going to do to me?” the other man, Warlock, yelled as he watched the blonde-haired man walking away in anger. “Really, such a handsome man, yet such bad temper.”
He then turned and was about to walk in the direction that Juin sent him when he suddenly stopped and turned back again. The blonde man was gone, yet Warlock felt that the man he bumped into earlier wasn’t someone of this world. The blonde man had concealed his aura, yet for those who were truly strong, they could never fully conceal the truth of their strength.
“Boy, if we were in a more private space, he would have slaughtered me in a second…” Warlock mumbled before turning around.
He soon met up with Juin and his group in a hidden cafe somewhere quieter.
“You…” Warlock gasped when he saw Juin’s new physical appearance. “How?”
The last time he met Juin, the boy was clearly weaker and smaller in size. Yet, at the moment, the one in front of him was no longer a boy. He had become a man in a short span of time.
