The Demon Lord Is Fleeing For His Life Again Today - CH 10.2
Hearing only a crisp bell ring, the two families who were clamorous shut their mouths at the same time and bizarrely turned towardLou Muge.
Even the chattering crowd suddenly quieted down.
Lou Muge knew that this was because of the small trick Ning Shaosi had employed, so he took advantage of the silence to ask the most stimulated man, “How did the fool of the Guo family kill your father?”
“My father has been tied up in the house since he fell ill. Unexpectedly, this fool rushed to our house while my brother and I were out working today, hurt my mother and untied the rope that bound my father. My father took a knife and rushed all the way here. When we arrived, he was already dead…” The man answered methodically. There wasn’t even a fluctation in his voice.
“Hahaha, he deserved it!” At this juncture, Guo Chuangen clapped his hands happily. “He died just right. It’s his time to die…”
Lou Muge’s eyebrows twitched: “What do you mean?”
“It’s his turn. It’s his turn, ah.” Guo Chuangen was dumbfounded, shaking his head like a child, but grinning happily: “None of them can escape.”
“Not a single one can escape?” Lou Muge slowly chewed this sentence and asked the crowd, “Who can explain the meaning of this statement?”
Everyone closed their mouths, so quiet that even a pin drop could be heard.
“He must be talking about fifty years ago,” Chang Anning suddenly inserted.
It was fifty years ago again.
Lou Muge looked at him and asked next, “What about it?”
Chang Anning opened his mouth, but before he could make a sound, he saw a green light closing in and passing through the crowd. And then, everyone was relieved at the same time, with the buzzing chatter starting anew.
It was just that this time around, the noise was much quieter, and most people were looking at Lou Muge in horror.
“What are you doing to these mortals?” Ze Wan questioned Lou Muge once she landed.
“What does it have to do with you?” Lou Muge snapped.
Ze Wan said angrily, “If you hurt these mortals, it’s my business!”
“Which eye did you see me hurting them?” Lou Muge put his fan on his back. He was too lazy to argue with her, so he turned to leave.
“Lou Shengsheng, don’t think you can do anything because you are with this fake Ning Shaosi. You’re a human but willing to associate with a demon. How ridiculous!” But Ze Wan was unwilling to give up.
When Ning Shaosi heard her, he looked at her very seriously: “I’m not a fake.”
Ze Qian sneered and pulled Ze Wan: “Why are you wasting your breath to tis kind of people? Just wait until he falls victim to his own evil deeds.”
“I’m real.” Ning Shaosi again persistently said to Lou Muge.
Lou Muger responded perfunctorily. He slid a glance to Ze Wan and said, “I can accompany whomever I want. It’s none of your business!”
He was too lazy to argue with this little girl. He ignored Ze Wan’s tirade behind him, turned around and left. He also called Chang Anning before leaving.
Chang Anning’s eyes were red and swollen from crying, and after walking with Lou Muge for a while, he asked, “What spell did you use just now?”
“What?” Lou Muge said carelessly, “Do you want to learn?”
Chang Anning quickly shook his head: “I’m not a monk, but I just felt it was magical. After I heard the bell ring, my body moved disobediently. I obviously wanted to talk, but I can only stare at you motionlessly.”
Lou Muge was unconcerned, but he replied vaguely, “The spells of immortals are all like this. What did you mean by what you said, 50 years ago?”
“I’m not quite sure, I was not born yet fifty years ago. I just heard Uncle Zhao mention it.” Chang Anning scratched the back of his head and continued, “He said that a group of people in the village organized and did something bad 50 years ago, but it’s been so long that no one even mentions it now.”
Lou Muge gave a discontented tsk. His eyes drooped, with extreme impatience suppressed between his pretty eyebrows. “If it weren’t for the Divine Trial Convention, I wouldn’t bother to care about you guys.”
The citizens of Shan’an were concealing something that couldn’t be concealed at all. Sooner or later, it would surface. However, they kept dragging it on, really wasting time.
“Does anyone know what happened 50 years ago?” Lou Muge asked directly.
“Perhaps you can ask the Village Chief.” Chang Anning said, “Fifty years ago, the Chief’s father seems to have been involved in that incident.”
The Village Chief of Shan’an named Li Wei was 46 this year. He only have one daughter under his knee, and he loved her dearly like a pearl
Lou Muge let Chang Anning lead the way. He randomly picked up a wooden stick, causing Chang Anning to frequently turn around. He opened his mouth several times, but after seeing Lou Muge’s face, he resisted speaking.
Lou Muge lazily raised his eyelids: “Just spill it.”
“Our Village Chief is a good man…” Chang Anning said inaudibly, “His wife died early. The life of a man raising a daughter is very hard…”
Lou Muge did not want to hear him sadfishing for the Village Chief, so he urged with some impatience, “What are you talking about?”
“Don’t beat him.” Chang Anning strained his neck, “You might not help but beat him.”
Lou Muge was delighted: “If I beat him up, I’ll practice with you first.”
Chang Anning shrank his stretched neck, and his footsteps sped up. He also stopped talking, and merely prayed for the Village Chief inwardly.
Lou Muge himself did not intend to make a move. He was just scaring him a bit.
These Shan’an people weren’t easy to deal with. Although they were very timid, in fact, their bones were harder than stones. They gave off a cunning aura. It was a waste of time to reason with them.
What was more, Lou Muge was averse to reasoning.
Chang Anning led the way until the door of Li Wei’s house. The first he saw was a young woman with two braids. She was sitting on the threshold, wrapped in a thick cotton coat, and with big eyes open. When she saw Chang Anning, she stood up, full of smiles, “Brother Anning.”
Lou Muge took a look. This young woman stood up a little taller than him and looked solid enough.
Both men and women in Shan’an grew strong. He wondered if it was because the water and soil in the city had spiritual energy.
The woman’s name was Li Xiaolan, aged 26. She possessed an innocent and artless appearance. She trotted towards Chang Anning, and Lou Muge and Ning Shaosi had to tilt their heads up to her.
“Lanlan, is your father home?” Chang Anning bent down and asked her.
Li Xiaolan nodded: “He just got back. He’s inside.”
Chang Anning glanced towards Lou Muge and said somewhat timidly, “I won’t go in. I still have a matter to attend to.”
Lou Muge responded perfunctorily. He took Ning Shaosi inside and hurriedly whispered to him, “When we go in, act a little fierce. Let’s scare him first.”
Ning Shaosi nodded and whispered back, “Okay.”
Lou Muge stood up and raised his voice to ask, “Is there anyone here?”
