The Demon Lords Adviser - Chapter 3 Training
Now that everyone has revealed their unique abilities Hawn begins to explain what we will be doing for the next while
“All of you are the hope of our country so naturally you will receive the best treatment we can offer, but that does not mean you can slack off and not do anything at all. You are all going to train with me for a week to test your physical talent then I will send you over to the court wizard for magical talent to be tested, any questions?”
“What are our schedules specifically, you can’t expect kids to train all day everyday right?” (Teacher)
“Of course not, you all will train from breakfast till dinner and anytime outside that period you can do whatever you want except leave the castle, if there is anything from outside the castle you urgently need then we will send someone to get it for you.” (Hawn)
Something Hawn just said could put a small hitch in my plan so I ask
“What will we be doing after the 2 weeks of testing our talent?” (Sorun)
“You will then be training under either myself of the court wizard until you are ready to hunt some monsters and level up seriously” (Hawn)
Good, my plan can still work with this setup even if I will have to wait longer than originally planned. The small meetup was adjourned after a few people from the class asked stupid questions such as “Exactly how strong is the demon lord” of course Hawn couldn’t answer that properly, if Hawn could answer that properly then the demon lord would already be dead.
Now that the meeting is over we have the rest of the day to familiarize ourselves with the castle, I went to the library because I wanted to actually learn about the demon lord as it would affect my plan depending on if the demon lord is actually evil or not.
After skimming a lot of books I concluded that the demon lord is probably evil, there is also the possibility the king had any books that say the demon lord is good removed but I can’t do anything if that is the case anyway so I am going to assume the demon lord is evil for now.
I spent the rest of the day touring the castle and finalizing my plan before ending the day by going to bed.
The next morning a maid woke me up and I went to have breakfast, it tasted good but not incredibly good like light novels would have me believe, we then went for the first day of assessing our physical talent. Now would be a good time to go over how to level up, it is quite simple you level up by killing people or animals, so what is the point of training in the castle then? I thought the same thing but it turns out that you can learn skills by training even if you don’t level up, we can also practice using our unique skills or at least they can.
The assessing of physical talent Hawn talked about is basically how fast we learn the skill he teaches us, but to be honest I don’t care that much because I can get any skill I want just by killing something that has that skill.
The skill Hawn wants us to learn within a week is called Body fortification and just raises your physical stats by 1.5 times but stresses your body, Hawn said he would grade our talent by how fast we learned the skill.
The days went by and finally on the third day Asil managed to learn Body fortification, he was the first in the class to do it or so everyone thinks I actually learned it on day 2 but plan to reveal I’ve learned it on day 4 or 5 so as to not hinder my plan of escape.
Everyone else was slower than expected so I revealed that I learned it at the end of the 5th day putting my talent in the middle of the pack as far as everyone else is concerned. The remaining 2 days passed and only three people failed to learn body fortification one of them being Shuna.
Today we meet the court wizard in charge of assessing our magical talent his name was Aslum and he conducted basically the same test as Hawn but with the skill Non-elemental magic which is the simplest and weakest magic there is basically everyone has mana and most spells require you to change the properties of your mana but Non-elemental magic just requires you to shoot mana out of your body.
I learned it on the same day as we were told to learn it with Asil learning it on the second day which had everyone praising him, Shuna also learned it on the second day slightly after Asil with most others lagging behind by 1 or 2 days.
With the end of the talent assessing we were split into three groups one for Hawn another for Aslum and the third group will swap between them, I am in the third group as is Asil.
Like that 2 more weeks pass with us learning mainly about geography, monster types and monster weaknesses. We are now at the castle gates about to go out for our first monster hunt with me about to execute my plan.
