The Demon Lords Adviser - Chapter 7 Dungeon
It is now evening around 10 pm if I had to specify, and I have read up on all I need to know for now.
I now know where I’m headed, I’m going to a dungeon because they apparently exist and function how you would expect for the most part with monsters appearing everywhere and becoming stronger the deeper in the dungeon you go.
I also got some more info on levels which was surprisingly hard to find. Apparently the average level of a soldier is just 10 with the average level of a knight being 20.
There is also a adventures guild which had ranks from D to S and according to the books the average level per rank is as follows
D – 3 to 5
C – 6 to 20
B – 21 to 60
A – 61 to 99
S – 100+
It becomes increasingly hard to increase in adventurer rank and most people are stuck at C rank for their entire lives, when I first saw this I questioned how most would stay at C rank because after 1 hunt I am level 9 I mean I knew I level faster than most but I seriously underestimated the difference.
For a normal person with average talent it would take them a year of hunting day in and day out to increase from level 1 to 2 and that level would probably not even give them 1 point in any of there stats meanwhile for me killing 1 goblin leveled me up and I felt noticeably stronger and faster afterwards.
From the same book that detailed adventurer levels I also learned that my stats are way above what someone at level 9 should have my stats are around what someone at level 20 should have putting my actual strength independent of skills around the top of C class or Bottom of B class, I could probably fight someone at level 25 – 30 with my skills.
All of this information contributed to why I am going to a dungeon, my plan is to use my stats and skills to fight monsters of a higher level than me and level up insanely fast while going deeper into the dungeon and hopefully finding powerful loot while I’m down there.
I found myself stuck for a moment when I thought about how I don’t have any supplies like food or water for an extended dungeon visit nor any money to buy supplies with.
But then it hit me, The dungeon I’m going to is a pretty popular location for adventurers from rank D all the way to rank A so I can just kill some weak adventurers and take their supplies.
The only thing that made me hesitate about going there is the thought that a hostile A or B rank party might attack me in the dungeons, I was only assured when I considered that in order to keep their honor and prestige no one would attack me until deeper in the dungeon where no one can see and by the time I’m that deep in the dungeon I will be strong enough to at least escape if not kill them.
So with all of these thoughts in mind I strolled out of the city and traveled for another 5 hours killing the occasional animal that attacked and leveling up once before I finally reached the dungeon, by this point I was hungry and tired but kept trudging on regardless.
There was a small market type area outside the dungeon but I just sped through it and into the dungeon, some staff who said she is from the adventurers guild tried to get me to register saying that they would retrieve my body if I died down there.
I ignored her saying that I wouldn’t die and entered the dungeon, I’m now on the first floor with plenty of other people who seem to be D ranked adventurers fighting giant ants.
Priority number 1 right now is to kill someone and steal their supplies, with that in mind I head to the second floor which is a lot less crowded but still too public for me to get away with murder.
I start moving to go to the third floor but one of those ant creatures tries to bite me, I jump back out of it’s range and draw my longsword.
I could have just grabbed it’s head and activated [Flame Body] but I don’t want to reveal my trump card on the second floor so I swing my longsword as soon as it has been drawn hoping to end this in one swing but the ants shell is harder than I thought and my sword snapped.
My swing has however broken the shell and injured the ant so I step in and shove my hand into the wound while discreetly activating [Flame Body] on my hand allowing me to melt it’s brain, level up and get the skill Harden while anyone watching would think I crushed it’s brain with pure strength.
I head into the third floor hoping that the person I kill is a sword user, when I find a slightly different layout compared with the first 2 floors which were just big halls with a staircase at the end, this one is the same except their are branching corridors on the sides of the main hall.
This is my chance! I use Night vision to peer into the corridors and finally found 1 group who is alone deep into one of the corridors fighting a serpent creature there appears to be one person wielding a sword as well.
I was hoping that I would find someone going solo but beggars can’t be choosers, I sprint at full speed towards them, they are focused on the serpent and don’t notice me.
I grab the sword wielders head and activate [Flame Body] at full power killing him instantly, leveling up and gaining the skill Magic edge which allows me to enhance a blade with magic and seems very useful.
Everyone even the serpent is shocked and focuses on me, I grab the longsword the adventurer I just killed was using and swing it toward the serpent who is only about 2 feet away from me and is preparing to bite me.
My unexpectedly quick swing combined with magic edge cuts the serpents head off before it can bite me this nets me another level up and the skill Venomous blood which makes my blood venomous while also allowing me to excrete venom from any part of my body.
The rest of the party who just witnessed me killing the serpent with ease freeze up for a second granting me time to apply my venom to my sword and start rushing them.
By the way their party now consists of a rogue with two daggers, a person wielding a warhammer and one who has a sword and shield, I would guess their levels are around 7-8.
As they see I am rushing them they quickly get into battle stances, I rush the person with the warhammer who is closest.
He swings as soon as I’m in range and I use my higher level to grab the shaft of his warhammer and destroy it with [Flame Body], I then do a not very deep cut to his left side as I run past him and at the rogue.
The person with the sword and shield rushes at me while I’m rushing at the rogue, he is probably planning to double team me with the rogue, in response I charge at him instead, when he sees this he raises his shield, I activate [Flame Body] on my fist and use [Shapeshifter] at the same time to dislocate my shoulder and stretch my muscles to extend my arm while also using it to bend my arm like a snake and punch him in the head from around his shield killing him instantly.
I didn’t level up but I gained the skill Iron wall which increases endurance by 5 for 10 seconds once per day, to be honest I think this skill is garbage but whatever.
I once again charge at the rogue and she starts running at me, when we are 3 meters apart I throw my sword coated in magic edge at her, she dodges and is about to counter attack but I am already right next to her and grab her neck using [Flame Body] to finish her off.
I pick up my sword and look back at the warhammer guy who is now dead thanks to my venom.
Now that the fight is over I loot the corpses while feeling exhilarated at the new skills I got!
