The Demon Wolf - Chapter 18:Last First Kiss
“Love, what are you talking about?”
“What you just said! That’s the kind of stuff people experience when they, love someone, but…you’re a giant fucking demonic wolf, that, EATS, people!” She exclaims as she turns around, running her hands through her hair as she processes everything. Wolf finds himself entranced as he suddenly sees her in a different light.
Everything seems to go away but her. He doesn’t want to do anything but stand there with her. The constant blood lust that normally fills his veins seems to subdue itself as a warm feeling takes its place, and for once his heartbeat has quickened. Clara turns around to see Wolf just staring at her with a look she’d never seen before.
There wasn’t any hint of hunger, or anger. He wasn’t looking at her like a predator looking at its prey, but like the way a person looks at something that’s taken their breath away with its beauty.
“…You can’t seriously be, in love me…” She says with a shaky voice. There’s a pause that feels like an eternity as they look each other in the eyes.
“…I…I do love you,” Wolf finally says, breaking the silence. Nothing but the rustling of some leaves and bugs make any sort of response as Clara just stares at him blanket, unable to figure out how she feels.
“…I can’t…” She says, a tear trailing down her face, “Y-You’re a beast, a monster. You’ve killed so many innocent people…and whose to say you won’t continue to do that?” Wolf finds himself at a loss for words. It’s true. All he’s ever known is an insatiable hunger and never ending blood lust up until now.
Thoughts of attacking her start sneaking their way into his mind as the night starts to come to an end.
“I can’t keep coming here and bringing you food, I can see it’s clearly not enough,” Clara says, taking him out of his thoughts, “So this is goodbye, and I’m going to do everything I can to protect the people of my town from you,” She turns and starts to walk away, something cold and dense extinguishing the flames that had kindled inside of him.
Than something else appears in his mind, pushing away all the nightmares and troubling thoughts. It quickly takes over his mind, forcing him to act.
“W-Wait!” He says, taking a step toward her. To his relief she stops and turns back to him.
“What?”
“If this is the last chance I get to talk to you…” It takes a lot more than he expected to actually finish his sentence, “Can I at least get a last first kiss?” Clara is once more surprised and taken back.
Did this, giant, demonic, talking, wolf, just ask me to kiss it???????
She stares at him and the begging look in his eyes.
God this is going to be awful…
“…Alright…” She says to his sheer glee. She walks up to Wolf, steeling herself for the disgusting dog breath that’s probably about to cover her face and lips. As the sun starts to rise above the mountains she forces herself to press her lips against Wolf’s. Everything goes dark for Wolf.
Clara quickly steps back.
“Bleh!” She furiously wipes away at her mouth trying to get the repulsive taste off her lips that quickly crawls its way onto her tongue, “Oh god, I think I might barf,” She says with heavy breaths as she bends over a bit. She finally realizes something as her stomach starts to settle.
“Wolf?” She looks around to see that’s he gone.
“Augh…oh god, my head…” Someone groans. Clara glances down to see a naked man with medium length black hair that looks as crazy as Wolf’s. She finds herself staring at his muscles for a second before quickly looking away, her face blushing bright red.
“Wolf?! I-is that you?!”
“Of course it’s me,” He says as he sits up, his voice no longer as deep or having any hint of a growl, “Who else would…” He notices that something’s off, “It, be…” He looks at himself and sees he has hands instead of paws. His once fur covered body now covered in a pale skin with only some hair on him.
“What did you do to me?!” He asks, both angry and scared.
“I kissed you, that’s all I did!” She says, glancing at him, trying to avoid looking at his privates.
“Why didn’t you tell me kissing does this!?”
“Because it doesn’t!” Wolf stumbles onto his two feet, nearly falling over.
“Than why am I, this?!” He says gesturing to himself.
“I don’t know, just…” She takes off her hoodie, “Wrap this around your waist please…and we can try to figure out what happened,”
…
“It’s the most logical explanation I can think of,” Jerard states, his arms folded and resting on his legs, “Ever since that kiss, I lived my life as human with her. My, urges, never truly went away but I kept them in check by just hunting wildlife every once in awhile. It worked and everything was perfect…until that son of a bitch got into my head…”
“What son of a bitch?”
“The necromancer demon. He’s the reason I…” He takes a deep breath as the pain starts coming back, “The reason, I killed Clara,”
