The Demon Wolf - Chapter 24:Pierre Peril
“Randy! I know you’re in there!” Pierre’s voice shouts angrily, something about it seems, off, “Come on out before I knock this door down!”
“Stay here,” Randy tells the others before he starts walking towards the back door. There’s a sudden pounding on the door as Randy nears it. He pulls up his coat to make sure his magnum is securely in place before hiding it once more. Disengaging the lock and opening the door Pierre is nowhere in sight. He steps outside, the door slowly closing behind him. As the door closes with a click, the lock engages. A fist comes from the left, punching Randy in the side of his face hard. The force sends him falling to the floor, the cold dirt adding to the stinging pain on his face as his shotgun lands a couple inches from him.
“Get up,” A voice sounding like Pierre’s commands. It has an echo to it, that sounds deeper and chilling. Randy rolls onto his back to see Pierre, his eyes glowing a faint red before turning back to normal. There’s marks and small folds on his neck, as if someone had twisted it much more than a human head should be turned.
“Or not,” Pierre says as he starts to pull his gun from his holster.
Randy grabs his shotgun and manages to shoot before Pierre can, shooting him in the arm causing him to drop his gun. Steam emits from the bullet wounds as a burning pain fills the arm.
“You son of a bitch!” Pierre suddenly shouts as he thrusts a fist downward at Randy.
Randy barely manages to roll out of the way, Pierre’s fist cracking the ground. Randy quickly gets up, backing away from Pierre.
“Pierre, I know you’re in there somewhere. If Jerard can-” He’s interrupted by the sound of a chainsaw starting up. Than a screeching noise fills the air as sparks can be seen coming from the other side of the building where the others are. Before he can look back to Pierre he’s hit hard in the chest, sent flying back a couple feet and winded. Through much struggle, Randy manages to get up as Pierre starts walking towards him, a devilish grin on his face.
“Don’t worry about them, they’ll be just fine,” Pierre says mockingly as screaming fills the empty air.
There’s no way he’ll let me just run past him. I need to get back to the others.
He looks around for anything, and sees the break room not too far away. A double story building with stairs on the inside and outside. It’s a bit far away, but it may be his best bet at getting past Pierre for now. He starts making his way there as he unloads the empty shells from his shotgun and reloads it. With the click of the barrel locking into place he glances back where Pierre is to see he’s not there.
He starts moving faster as he tries to see where he is. He hears footsteps quickly approaching from behind. He’s barely able to see the footprints being formed in the dirt before he’s punched in the shoulder, almost dropping his gun. He’s able to stay on his feet this time. Laughter echoes through the air as the footsteps rush away from him. Randy can see the others running out from the locker room into the center of the yard, Helena shooting her gun at something out of sight.
Gerald soon comes walking into view, unfazed by the bullets as the chainsaw in his hands roars for blood.
“You can’t save them,” Pierre’s voice says all around him. Randy quickly holds up his gun as he looks for footprints. There’s a sudden black mist in the air, Pierre’s face emerging from it. His eyes blood red, blood dripping from his neck and teeth unnaturally sharp, “Just like you couldn’t save Rose,” Those words cause Randy to freeze for a second as the pain from that night starts to shackle his body. Pierre starts to laugh once more as the rest of his body appears and he approaches Randy.
“You’re fucking dead!” Randy says with a burning rage as he pulls the trigger, shooting Pierre point blank in the face. As Pierre falls back a cloud of black mist envelopes his body and it dissipates, Pierre gone.
It’s too late for him. Guess it’s a good thing we didn’t talk much after I left the police or I might have had a harder time deciding to kill this son of a bitch. Lucky me since it seems like I have no choice but to fight my way through him.
As Randy reloads the shotgun he looks at the ground for any new footprints. He tries to see if the others are anywhere nearby but he can’t see them. He quickly looks back to the ground, trying to slowly make his way to where he last saw the others. He sees footsteps quickly approaching and he shoots. The footsteps move back slightly as the others come into view, running on the walkways on the primary building where the giant saw blade is. Helena and Jerard are filling Gerald with lead, but he keeps on approaching them. Randy is caught a bit off guard as he sees Red running in his direction.
Randy quickly focuses back on Pierre, wherever he is, as he goes to reload once more, he only has enough ammo for two more shots, better make them count. His reload gets interrupted when he’s punched in the side, losing his grip on the shotgun and bullets which go flying. Randy rushes for the gun and bullets but his left arm gets grabbed. He turns to see nothing, but knows Pierre is there, smiling at him with a smile unnatural for him to have. An invisible fist punches Randy in the gut, winding him and a rib starting to break. He shouts in pain as he struggles to break free of the demon’s grip.
He barely manages to see something shiny come flying at him. Before he can make out what it is, the object hits something invisible, the grip on Randy’s arms going away. Randy hurries over and grabs the shotgun as an unnatural growl can be heard. A disturbing scream that sounds like a man’s scream but weirdly muffled and distorted can be heard. Black mist suddenly appears as Pierre lunges from it, pinning Randy to the ground.
“You did this to me!” Pierre screams as he clamps his hands around Randy’s neck. Randy tries to pull Pierre’s arms off as he’s forced to stare at the mangled remains of Pierre’s face. Split into several pieces from the shotgun blast, several parts of his skin are peeled away, the muscle and even some bone exposed. One eye is gone, the other has loose skin around it still. His animal like teeth are all fully exposed and blood drips from the exposed muscle, dripping onto Randy’s face.
“You’re the reason I became this!” Pierre yells as he shakes Randy. Randy keeps one hand on Pierre’s arm as the other reaches into his coat. He feels the magnum and starts to draw it out as he feels himself start to become light headed.
If a shotgun to the face couldn’t do shit, maybe this can.
With a pull of the trigger, Pierre’s grip immediately loosens as a crippling pain erupts between his legs. Randy takes the chance to hit Pierre in the side of the face with his forearm, knocking him down onto his back. Randy quickly gets up, and starts shooting Pierre in the forehead.
“Die you motherfucker!” Randy shouts as Pierre’s body twitches with each shot to the head. Randy is soon left pulling the trigger to the sound of empty clicking as the remaining five bullets are all inside the corpse of the demon Pierre. Randy stands there for a few seconds, making sure he’s dead. As he goes to see where the others are he sees the bat he gave Red laying on the floor. Looking up at the walkway he sees the others running out of walkway. He quickly grabs the bat and runs off towards them.
Claws emerge from the shadows, grabbing Pierre’s body and dragging it into the darkness.
