The Demon Wolf - Chapter 25:Chainsaw Chase
“Stay here,” Randy tells Helena, Jerard and Red before he starts making his way to the backdoor. Pounding on the door can be heard as Randy reaches the end of the hall and walks out of view. Helena checks her gun to make sure it’s loaded and in good condition while Red’s grip on her bat tightens. Jerard goes to grab some shotgun bullets, but stops when he remembers they’re doused in holy water.
“I’m gonna get my gloves from my locker, I’ll be right back,” Jerard says before he hurries off down a couple rows. He unlocks his locker, which is luckily sa number lock, and grabs his gloves. Getting back to the others, black work gloves on, he gets some bullets and puts them in his pockets. They all freeze when they hear a gunshot coming from the backdoor. They all hurry over to the back door. Trying to open the door is futile though as it’s locked. That’s when they hear the sound of a chainsaw coming from the front.
Their ears are attacked by the screeching sound of metal cutting through metal as sparks fly. They all look down the hall to see a chainsaw blade cutting through the front door. The blade disappears and the sound finally ceases, only for the door to be pushed forward, the two pieces falling onto the ground with a hard thud. An angry Gerald with a chainsaw, his eyes red with rage, stands in the doorway. Red can’t help but let out a scream of terror.
Jerard quickly steps in front of her, shotgun at the ready. Gerald steps into the locker room, the door breaking even more as he steps on it.
“Hi wolf, I have a bone to pick with you,” He says in his distorted demonic voice. Jerard shoots at Gerald, only to have an eerie laugh echo through the building.
“It’ll take more than that to stop me,” He says as he continues to walk towards them. Helena aims her gun, and shoots the chainsaw, the engine dying off.
Meanwhile Gerald holds up the broken chainsaw, annoyed. His grip on the chainsaw tightens as shadows formed from his burning hatred start enveloping the chainsaw. The engine roars back to life as the blade sharpens and starts to spin.
As the group runs down the hall they all jump to the left as a black chainsaw blade starts cutting through the lockers on the right. The cuts are stained blood red as the blade melts through them as if they’re made of melted butter. The hurry down the hall and make it to the front door. Glancing back they see Gerald walking towards them, the chainsaw emitting a red and black mist from its exhaust. He suddenly starts to charge at them.
They run out of the building, Jerard and Helena turning back towards the door, guns at the ready. Gerald emerges from it, and they start shooting. Shooting him in the body seems to have no effect. As the gap between them quickly closes, Jerard aims for the legs and manages to shoot one. Gerald falls to one knee for a second, steam coming from the bullet wounds, but he quickly gets up. They take the opportunity to distance themselves.
With a much safer distance, Helena and Jerard start shooting again, this time Gearlt is walking towards them. Shooting his legs seems to have a much weaker effect somehow as he only slows down slightly for a second before resuming his usual speed.
“We found his body before, how the fuck was he killed the first time?!” Helena asks as she reloads her gun.
“Because I was the one who killed him, or at least thought I did,” Jerard states as he shoots the last bullets in his gun. They decide to just turn and run once more as Jerard starts to reload his shotgun.
“Maybe we can get him there!” Jerard stats as he points at the massive saw blade on the main building, “Come on!” The three of them run for some grating stairs that connect to a walkway that goes along the length of the building. Gerald is always making his way up the stairs as they reach the top. They run to distance them selves as the distance between them somehow keeps getting thinner. As they’re running Red sees a cloud of black mist near Randy, a face coming out from it. Randy shoots it and the face disappears along with the face. They start filling Gerald up with holy lead to no avail as he keeps trucking towards them.
“We need to get him onto the tracks,” Jerard says as they continue to shoot. Red glances out over the yard to see Randy by himself, gun at the ready as he looks around whatever that thing is. Red starts running along the walkway towards him.
“Red, where are you going?!” Jerard asks.
“I gotta help grandpa!” She replies as she nears the end of the walkway. Looking down she sees Randy get hit by an unseen force, his shotgun flying out of his hands and out of reach. He runs for it, but something grabs one of his arms. She looks at the ground to see footprints near Randy. Holding the bat over her head she hurls it at Randy with all her might, hoping it’ll hit whatever is grabbing him. She watches with worry as Randy gets hit again as the bat nears it’s target. Red has a small moment of glee as the bat hits something invisible and tumbles to the ground, Randy running over and getting his shotgun. The small moment of pride is cut short when Red realizes how close Jerard and Helena are.
“How is this getting him on the tracks?!” Helena exclaims as they continue to use their bullets.
“I’m trying to figure that out!” Jerard replies as they continue to back up, quickly reaching the end of the walkway. Randy runs over to a ladder and starts to climb. Helena and Jerard both run out of bullets and quickly reach for more in their pockets, but stop when Gerlat suddenly stops in his tracks.
He struggles to move as an unseen force holds him steal.
“No, master! I can do this!” Gerald pleas angrily. Gerald starts to slowly raise the chainsaw up and turns it towards himself. The air is filled with demonic screams as he plunges the chainsaw into himself. They all watch in horror as he stands their screaming, the chainsaw shooting out blood from his body. Whatever was controlling him lets go and he pulls the chainsaw out from himself and drops it, the chainsaw dying one last time.
Gerald struggles to stay standing and falls to one knee as he holds onto the railing to keep himself from falling down. Randy reaches the top of the ladder and gets onto the walkway as Gerald coughs up blood.
“Y-you…” Gerald says glaring up at Jerard, “Took me…from my brother…Charles…where is he?!” He shouts with a dying breath as he tries to push himself up. He soon loses consciousness and with a hard thud falls onto the walkway. Jerard, Helena, and Randy all stare at the corpse, completely shocked and baffled at how on earth he could have been Grotto.
