The Devil’s Sleeping Beauty - Chapter 242: My Youth (1)
The wind howled as the students arrive through the gates, hustling and bustling down the corridors. It was the first day at the new high school. The hallways seemed busier, the students seemed less friendly.
Bustling corridors, noisy chatters, Lu Xingyan and Lu Weichun walked side by side together.
“We’re going to be in different classes,” said Lu Weichun with a grin as they stood in front of the faculty room. “I’ll see you at lunch.”
“Meimei, make lots of friends, okay? You need to talk and socialize with them, okay?” She patted her younger twin’s shoulder. “I won’t be able to help you make friends since we’re separated.”
“I know.” Despite her calm look, Lu Xingyan was actually feeling nervous. Who wouldn’t especially when entering a new environment?
Unlike Lu Weichun, it was hard for her to make new friends. She really wasn’t the talkative type after all.
In their previous school, because of her quietness, she became unapproachable. Her classmates respected her greatly and she was treated like a beautiful flower growing in a cliff, a flower that no one can reach.
“Smile more. Turn those lips up and smile so that you will look approachable, meimei.” Lu Weichun said, smiling at her, showing her teeth as she did.
“I know.” She said once again before she knocked and opened the door of the room.
The faculty staff in the room turned their heads to them.
“Excuse me, we’re looking for Ms. Yuan.”
“Over here.” A woman said, raising her hand a bit to get their attention.
Lu Xingyan went and was followed by Lu Weichun behind.
“My name is Lu Xingyan, and this is my sister, Lu Weichun.” She introduced to the teacher.
When their names were heard, the look on the staff in the room changed. The principal already told them ahead of time of their arrival, the two princesses of the great Lu family. Their career as a teacher might end if they tried to get in their way so it was best to get along with them.
“Ah yes, yes. My name is Yuan Li.” She introduced with a smile. “If I remember correctly, Ms. Lu Weichun here will be in a different section, right?”
“Yes.” Lu Weichun said with a grin.
“You belong to Mr. Qin’s class.” She looked around her fellow teachers, “Ah, Mr. Qin is not yet here. I think he’s going to be late again.”
“That’s alright Teacher Yuan. I can just wait.”
Yuan Li chuckled, “I can just accompany you to your room.” She turned her gaze to Lu Xingyan, “And you are my new student. It’s nice to meet you.”
…
After dropping Lu Weichun in her room and introducing her to her classmates, Yuan Li took Lu Xingyan to their room.
Upon entering the room, all gaze went to Lu Xingyan. Since the students were already in their last year of senior high, it was only normal for them to know each other. It was unusual to have a transferee so they looked at Lu Xingyan with curiosity.
“Good morning class. As you can see, we will have a new student in this class.” Yuan Li turned to Lu Xingyan and smiled, “Dear, why don’t you introduce yourself to us?”
Lu Xingyan stared at the students before her, her lips slowly crept up into a smile. “Hello, my name is Lu Xingyan, I am a transferee from Chuanghua Girls High School.” After that, she gave them a graceful now.
“Wow, she came from a girl’s school.”
“She looks really pretty and kind.”
“Why is she transferring now tho?”
Whisperings were heard from the students and they only went quiet their teacher clapped her hand once. She called, “Han Yehan.”
A boy, sitting at the back, looking at the scenery by the window turned his head to the teacher when he was called.
His eyes were like eagle’s when he looked at her. The coldness of his face showed that he was not a friendly type of person.
Han Yehan? Lu Xingyan blinked a few times. That name was familiar after all.
“Ms. Lu, please take the vacant seat beside him.”
“Yes…” Lu Xingyan went and sat beside him.
Lu Xingyan received envious stares from some of the girls and she could already tell that they will definitely target her after class.
“Lu Xingyan…” His boyish voice was heard.
Lu Xingyan turned and looked at the raven-haired boy, “I didn’t expect to see you here, Xiao Ye.” She said with a smile.
“Me too.” The sides of his lips curled up into a small small, friendliness showing in his eyes.
Of course, this small movement was noticed by others to the point where it shocked them. Did they know each other?
Yuan Li cleared her throat, “Class, eyes on board please.”
Lu Xingyan was able to know Han Yehan through Lu Mengjie, her cousin. She only met him once and that was during Li Bingbing’s wedding with Lu Xian Yu. He is Han Xukun’s younger brother.
They were not close but they were not that distant as well. Their love for books was the only thing they have in common.
…
When the lunch break came, Lu Weichun was approached by some of her classmates.
“Lu Xingyan, are you friends with Han Yehan?”
“You both seem to know each other.”
“How’s your old school? I heard that Chuanghua is pretty strict. Is that why you transferred?”
“Yeah, why did you transfer now?”
Lu Xingyan was bombarded by their questions which made her composed self panic inside. Who should she answer first?
They were so close to her that it was actually beginning to suffocate her. Even if she was admired by many in her old school, she has never been surrounded this way that was why it was kind of new for her and the anxiety she has was kicking in.
“Stop bothering her.” Han Yehan’s mellow, boyish voice was heard which made girls turn his way.
He stood up and gazed down at Lu Xingyan, “Let’s go.”
