The Dream Saga - Chapter 45
“SOMEONE GET A HEALER IN HERE,”
“QUICK!”
“THE KING IS DYING!! HURRY UP!”
Lee was screaming his lungs out to ask for help. He screamed so hard to the extent when his voice box stopped producing sound. He was screaming soundlessly.
In a few minutes, maids and servants gathered around him to help him. There was nothing in which one can carry a person, so to save the time, a big build guard tied me on his back and ran to the infirmity along with Lee.
“Kai! You will be alright, just hold on! You can do it, brother.” Lee talked to me to keep me conscious as long as possible. His voice echoing in my head.
“Kai! Kai! Keep your eyes open!! Don’t let it close” I did not know what was happening around me. Everything was blurry. Everything appeared black and white to me. My lower abdomen was hurting like someone was severing it with a chainsaw because of the rope I was tied with. The guard who carried me wore armor, and it was piercing my back like spikes. I was in so much pain I wanted to scream, but somehow, I couldn’t.
And finally, I gave up…
My eyes got closed because of immense pain.
“Huh!”
“What’s this place, have I ever been here?”
I was again in some kind of illusion, but it was not a dream, it was also not the dream where I used to meet Ecirel. It was like a memory.
“Zoooommmm!!”
“Mr. Ried, it’s a boy. Mrs. Ried gave birth to a healthy baby boy.”
“Ye-yeah I’m coming.”
Suddenly, I was in a hospital room and a woman was lying there with a cute baby in her lap; I don’t know why I felt I knew that woman like I had some kind of connection with her. I was standing in the room and a man came inside the room with a big smile on his face. The woman smiled at him and showed the baby to him.
The man carefully held the baby in his arms, his eyes flooded with tears as he saw the face of his little newborn.
“Honey, what will you name him?”
“His name? I have a name in mind. Before telling you the name, I want to tell you why I want to name our firstborn after him?”
“Okay, why do you want to name him that?”
“So, the story behind it is like this, when I was a kid, I used to watch boxing matches in the town. There was a fighter who was not the strongest of all but he never lost a match.”
“Huh, if he was not the strongest of all, then how he never lost a match?”
I watched the couple happily name their child; I felt a kind of warmth coming from them looking at them. As they’d make wonderful parents.
“I knew you’d ask me that question. He always stood straight against his opponent, doesn’t matter how strong his opponent was, he’d get beaten up to the extent where people’s will to watch ends. But he was a charismatic man. He had a will of steel. His will to win never died.”
“Wow! What was his name then?” the woman asked.
“Kai!”
“His name was Kai, I will name our child Kai, but if you have something cooler than this, then I’ll go with you.”
“No, you picked a beautiful name. He is Kai Reid from today. And I know he will grow as beautiful as his name,” the woman smiled at her child in her lap.
I stood there watching everything as a statue, tears came out of my eyes, the woman I was feeling warmth, turned out to be my own mother whom I never saw…
“Mother!”
“Huh, did anyone call me mother?”
“Kai’s too young to say that. Be patient, honey.”
“But I heard someone!”
I was calling them, emotions were coming out of my heart. I was so emotional at the moment that I ran and hugged my father.
“I’m sorry, I but am a trash. You had high expectations from me.”
“Honey, why do I feel someone is holding on to me.”
I had tears in my eyes I never wanted to leave their side, but when I opened my eyes, they were gone and I was again alone in another place…
