The Dream Saga - Chapter 46
“Mom! Dad! Where are you?”
“WHERE ARE YOU? DON’T LEAVE ME ALONE!!!”
“NOOOOO!!”
My parents disappeared. I was in a lonely place; I wanted to spend some more time with them but unfortunately, I couldn’t. The tears in my eyes kept coming, even after wiping them many times. I was glad to see them again but, at the same time, I was sad because I couldn’t see them again.
I wiped my tears with the sleeves of my shirt and looked around myself; I was in a hallway that looked like was of an arena of some kind; I saw soda vending machines and food dispensers. There were flyers on the ground of a tennis match. I walked outside the hallway. From the next end, loud cheering and singing voices were coming.
There was a vast crowd on the other end. I saw them holding banners; they were cheering up players. I looked up at the big screen that was set up for the audience, so the people who sat in the last seats can enjoy the match too. It was a judo match.
I descended the stairs to get a better look at the match. It was also from my memories, but my memory of it was blunt, so I couldn’t remember anything about it.
As I reached the end of the stairs, I saw the match clearly. Two teenage kids were fighting in the match. I noticed the kid on the right was being dominated by the one on the left.
I was once a martial artist, so it attracted my attention and I watched the match more attentively but while I was watching the match, a middle-aged guy was screaming at one of the kids in frustration, and that disturbed me so much that I approached him.
“Sir! Sir! WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING SO LOUDLY?”
I asked the man in a loud voice because the atmosphere there was so noisy and my voice couldn’t reach him.
“Huh! ARE YOU CALLING ME! I CAN’T HEAR YOU, COME CLOSER.” he replied.
“Are you a coach? Which one is your student?”
“Yes, I’m the head coach of the martial arts department. Yes, the one on the right is my best student, but today he’s fighting the worst.”
“Hmm, well I see, I guess something wrong with him, he’s just blocking the attacks he’s losing his chances of going offensive. Is he hurt?”
“What? why I didn’t think about it, by the way, you know too much about martial arts! Are you a teacher too?”
“Haha, well no. I’m not a teacher I was a student once I won the Olympic medal when I was 15.”
“Wow, you might be really awesome in it, well he’s preparing for his trial match for the Olympics, but if he kept doing it like this, I don’t think if he can make it to the Olympics.”
“I guess sometimes it’s not our day , maybe he’s stressed by something , he’s a teen though.”
While I was talking to the man, my body glowed as I was about to teleport somewhere again , in the meantime, the referee announced the winner of the match.
“William Potts, has won the match by defeating Kai Reid.”
“Huh! Wha-”
I was shocked after hearing my name. I didn’t even realize that the boy I was talking about was me. And the guy who was screaming at younger me , My coach !! .
He was the man who trained me right from my childhood. He was my father.
” DAD !!” I screamed at him, but I was already somewhere else.
I was somewhere in my memories. I saw my dad in a room with my younger self , he was scolding him so badly that I remembered how I felt that day.
“How can you lose a match like this, this trial will decide if you’ll be going to the Olympics or not!”
“But dad I-”
“I don’t want an excuse, Kai ! I feel ashamed to call you my best student ” He left the room in anger after scolding Little me harshly.
The little Kai didn’t even say a word back, he stood there like a statue. He was emotional; he was hurt. Looking at him made me so furious that I went after my father to tell him whatever he did was wrong.
As I stepped out of the room, I saw my dad sitting on the ground with his arms on his head; he looked pretty frustrated. I looked at him from a far distance; he was shouting at himself…
“Why? Why? did I scold him, I know he did his best. Should I go back and apologize to him?”
“Ahh ! I wish you were here to look after your son, it’s so hard for me. He needs someone to hold on to and I know he can’t express that he needs someone who can take care of him.”
“I wonder how he’d have grown if you were with him. I miss you and so does he”
I saw my dad first time in my life expressing his true emotions. He cared for me deeply but acted strictly so I don’t get spoiled. I wished that I knew about it earlier, then I might have understood him better.
While I was thinking about it, dad’s phone rang…
“Hello, Oh yes. Good afternoon.”
“What? The results are out? This early. Hmm.. Hmm.. really ??” his facial expressions were changed about a hundred times during the call.
“Are you sure, he passed? You mean he has been chosen to go to Olympics?? ”
“Thank you, sir, I’ll talk to you later.”
He was on the seventh cloud after hanging up the call. He was so happy that he ran to the room where little me was to tell him the good news. But as he opened the door to his room, the door changed to a beautiful door and an immense amount of light came from the other side of the door and he disappeared.
Whatever happened was shocking. I found out one of the biggest secrets of my life, that my dad never abandoned me and he never left me.
He disappeared from my life because of this damn door.
