The Dream Saga - Chapter 54
The atmosphere of the room changed in just few seconds. The moments of joy turned 180 degrees… into nightmares… Worst nightmares.
It felt like time stopped, but still the tik-tik of the clock was echoing arcane in the room.
“My queen, what does this mean? The baby is not crying? I’m calling the physician. Something is wrong with him!” The tension in the king’s voice was frightening. He was sweating heavily, his voice was cracking, his Adam’s apple was up in his throat.
“NO! DON’T GO OUT!! EVERYONE WILL FIND OUT ABOUT THE BABY” the queen screamed in a voice full of despair. She was scared shitless. Her eyes were red because of tears and pain. Hairs were scattered in the air. She was suffering…
“WHY?” the king’s eyes enlarged in shock and fear. He was scared too, for this newborn’s life. Something called conscience was hinting to him that what he was trying to not hear was the truth.
“BECAUSE HE’S ALREADY DEAD!!!” she screamed and tears broke out of her eyes. The words she just said were painful. It broke down the whole world of the king as a castle of card.
The king faced the reality he was trying to avoid. His heart shattered into pieces after those words escaped from her mouth. He was powerless now. All his wealth and power did not matter to him anymore.
“He was born as dead. He had no life inside him. I protected myself from everyone by hiding the truth.” The queen was lifeless, too now. Just by looking at her, it was known she had no emotions or feelings left inside her. The pain of losing her baby pushed her into a deep darkness that she was not even herself now.
“Why!! Why did you do it to me?” The king screamed at her with eyes flowing with tears, with his dead baby boy in his arms.
“There were talks about you. People talked behind your back. That you’re impotent that’s why you never had an heir. I never wanted you to lose your honor. That’s why I didn’t tell you the baby was dead.” She broke.
“You’re gone mad! What has happened to you?? Don’t lose hope. I will bring our baby back to life. There’s always a way!” the king consoled himself, he tried to create false hope to bear with his pain.
“No! Daniel! You know it, a dead never returns. No matter how hard you try!!!” the queen cried out.
“NO! I’ll never let our precious son die.” The king was not accepting the fact that he was dead already hours ago. He stood up and started walking towards the door with his dead boy in his arms, covered in a towel.
“Where are you taking my son? Give him back to me! I need to feed him it’s time for him to drink milk.” She begged with a tearing voice. It was not possible… her baby is alright…. He can’t die. She needed to feed him. He must be so much hungry….
She was just a helpless mom who lost her son, even before he opened his tiny eyes and recognize her… his dear mother.
The queen lost her mind. She was not sane now.
“I’ll be back soon, with our son. You should rest for now, it’s harmful for you to work now.” He held her back with his words and left the room.
“You’ll be alright. You’re a Beelzebub after all. I know you can do it, son.” He talked to his son in a soft tone he was headed somewhere only he knew about.
“When it’s your turn to face sorrow after experiencing happiness, suddenly you’ll see the world against you “.
It was raining heavily, darkness of clouds with sudden sparks of light, all dark around. Clouds were pouring tears in sorrow, thunder was flashing lightening in anger, there were no people on the street, the town which was lively in the morning looked haunted now.
The king took his sword and tied it around his waist; he removed his armor before stepping out of the palace. He wrapped a cloth around his shoulder and neck, making a carrying pouch to carry the child into it. He rushed his way out of the palace, galloping on a dark horse.
“I know she might have a cure for this. She plays with death every day. I believe she will definitely cure you, don’t worry,” he talked to the boy while riding his way to some place.
After traveling for a decent period, he arrived closer to a place that was covered with trees with vast trunks, unusual black leaves, purple-colored fruits on them.
“This place is sick. I never wanted to come here, but anyway I am here— w-what what!!” when he was looking around the place, his horse stood up on his hind legs and started neighing violently.
“Looks like you can’t go in. Our way ends here, I guess. Wait here I’ll be back soon.” He unmounted his horse and brushed his back with his palm gently to calm him down. He tied his leash with a tree nearby and moved on his way.
He moved forward for a minute and turned back to take a last look at his horse. But something happened that he was not expecting. His horse disappeared, only his bones remained there, covered in its blood. Whole ground soaking his fresh blood,.. The place he was headed to was no ordinary place it was spooky.
“What the hell! Where’s my horse? Who killed it?” the king exclaimed in confusion anxiety. In response to his voice, a seducing voice of a woman echoed in the area.
“Welcome back, Daniel Beelzebub. It’s been a long time, since I see you. Last time when it was! Hmm yeah, I remember you came here to return me, the head of one of my succubus. Who slayed someone dear to you?”
“Ah, I remember it now. It was your nephew, wasn’t it?”
“Witch of Endor, have you forgotten me? When everyone wanted to burn your place down. I was the one who saved you from those, in return for one favor in life.”
“Yeah, yeah, I remember it very well. What do you want?”
“I am here to ask you to help me bring my son back to life,”
“HAHA! You’re really thinking you can bring him back ??What a joke!!!”
“YOU CAN’T DO IT? NO, YOU HAVE TO DO IT, YOU CAN’T BACK OFF NOW!!!” The king screamed
“I never said that it’s impossible. But I also did not say it’s possible, I need to see him to tell that.”
“Come inside.”
