The Dream Saga - Chapter 73

“I WON!” I jumped in the air and yelled my victory, but I forgot my legs were crushed as powder, and when I realized it I was already falling on the ground from a height of a minimum of thirty feet.

“AAAHHH!”

“Thud” I fell on something. It was hard, but I was safe because where I fell was Slyory’s back. He caught me and protected me from falling. He was indeed a good boy.

And watching him loving and caressing me alone, my best serpent got a little jealous and rushed to show his love toward me too. It was the first time for both of us to perform in a proper match. I always thought people who had snakes as pets were weird and I would never have a snake closer to me, but here I was, a loving master of two dragon size serpents.

“Hey, hey, it’s tickling, stop” They were licking me with their long slippery tongue and it was making me giggle. And when they stopped, the anchor arrived back from the commentary room to announce my victory.

“What a wonderful match we just had now! Before I make any other comment, I would like, if you all stand up in your seats to pay respect to our victor here”

Everyone stood up cheering and shouting; they were clapping their hands up in the air with great enthusiasm. All the people of the Leviathan kingdom had a smile on their face, everyone was proud of me. The people who were not confident in me were bouncing in support of me.

I was standing surrounded by people from every side. It was a beautiful view I remembered the last time I was in a situation like this, but back then, few things were different. I was not happy last time; I was empty and alone because I heard all shouting, but no affection.

But this time, I was happy, because I was seeing the faces of people who loved me and were rooting for me and were praying for me, I knew this time when I’d go back to the dressing room, everyone will rush to me in worry and that was the affection I craved. While I was in my thoughts, the anchor spoke something.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are now going to officially announce the winner’s name and proceed to other match,” He spoke in a formal and loud tone.

“Kai Reid, representing the Leviathan, the sin of envy has won the first match by defeating Sathanus, the sin of wrath.”

“I would like if both of the participants are escorted back inside so we can continue with the other match.” he took out a scroll out of his pocket and told us to back while opening it.

He cleared his throat to announce the other match “Uh, so, the next match is between, Beelzebub and Belphegor, the sin of gluttony versus the sin of sloth, another big match. I can’t wait to see them battling!”

He continued hosting the tournament in his amazing way, and in the meantime few of the medic team arrived to aid and escort us to the infirmity. They were three in number and seemed like they could only help one of us, so I told them to help him first instead of me.

They tied a neck collar around his throat for protection and strapped in the stretcher and went inside swiftly. While waiting, I patted and rubbed my serpents’ heads as they were covering me in them. I aligned my palm with their head mark and with a light glow; they disappeared inside my body. And now the matrons of the infirmity were back to pick me up. They all pulled together by my shoulders and hips to strap me too, but this time, they were in haste.

They were walking fast, and it made me curious.

I asked the reason for their speed and one of them told me in a worry.

“Your grace, there’s been a problem and a big one!” he was panting due to running continuously.

I was fed up with back-to-back problems in my even though I did not want to I yelled at them. “Problem? What the hell is it this time?”

“My majesty, your legs are crushed to the extent where your bones will almost get mixed into your mashed muscles and blood.” He spoke worriedly.

“Ah, well, that sounds like a pretty fucked up situation. The healer will be able to heal me, right?” I asked with a little fear in my heart.

“Well, yes sir, it’s no big deal for him. He will treat you in seconds, by the way. You’re not feeling numb or something in your legs, right?”

“Huh? Numb? Bitch, I can’t even feel my legs!” I yelled at them in a fearful tone.

“WE ARE FUCKED! RUN OR MASTER LEE WILL HAVE OUR HEADS!!!” their speed enhanced to ten folds and in the next few seconds I was inside the stadium’s hallway. There, I saw Lee, Skyler and Sabir waiting for me. But I had no time to meet them I rushed straight into the infirmity and they followed me.

Lee hurried and grabbed one side of the stretcher to help the matrons. He got worried and asked them what’s wrong.

One of the matrons replied to him, “My lord, he can’t feel his legs!!!” and in response to that, he bawled at them like crazy, but I knew it wasn’t their fault which made me feel a bit bad for them…

“Hey, Lee, calm down bro, what they could have done? It’s not liking I am going to be paralyzed or something.” I laughed to lighten the atmosphere. But it turned more bizarre.

“Think before you say anything! Because there’s eighty percent chances of you going paralyzed for your whole life.” he yelled in frustration.

“Wha-what? What the fuck! Bitch, run fast! Or I will have your throats!”

“My majesty, we arrived the infirmity is in front of us,” One of them interrupted me.

They slam opened the door of the infirmity and threw me on the beds. And a healer came running to me,

“What’s his situation?” He asked one of the matron.

“Sir, he can’t feel anything in his legs. Please hurry!”

His eyes enlarged in shock and he pulled my legs to check it but he found something else “What the hell! It’s bad huh,”

“It’s healing, his leg! Its tendons are joining again but seems like it’s just keeping it alive so it’s not regenerating completely but it’s still better, maybe because of the serpent part inside you,” The healer spoke in a shocked and amazed tone and it relaxed me and Lee and every other person in the room,

And while we talked someone walked inside the room. It was Tom, Beelzebub.

“Hey are you okay? Will you be alright?” First thing he asked was about my health and that felt good, but why was he here just before his match?

“Hey, Tom. I am fine, just a bit of scratches, nothing more. Why are you here? Don’t you have a match in just a few minutes?”

He replied with a small smile on his face, “get better, I will be waiting for you in the finals! Well, I just came by to check you because the next time we will meet we might be opponents.”

I raised my eyebrows with a smirk “Confident today, aren’t we? Well, it suits you. And I will be love to see you as my opponent in the final and before you leave, I want to tell you I won’t go easy on you, even if you are my friend.”

“And here from the right corridor comes Beelzebub, the sin of gluttony, everyone cheer for him.” Far in the stadium, the anchor was announcing the start of the match and it was time for Beelzebub’s match.

He walked to the door and before leaving he told me, “Best of luck, I would love to fight you once.”

“I will win this tournament. I know whatever happens!” I motivated myself.

“Master Kai, please don’t move or some of the muscles will be left and that’ll cause problems for you,” the healer hushed me for making so many movements and, as he said, Skyler and Sabir walked inside the room.

“Hey, guys!” I waved at them, but they both were not looking so welcoming.

“Are you trying to kill yourself?” Skyler asked me with a scary stare.

“NO! why?”

“Why do you always do things that puts your life at stake! You could have died!” They were scared maybe that’s why they were my best friends, but still I had to defend myself.

“I am sorry for what I did and how I played the match, but look at those people who are cheering for me. Kids who want leviathan to win who look at me as a hero, I can’t let them down and there are many who still think I am unworthy. I had to prove myself”

“But Kai you could’ve don….”

“Huh!” I heard something. The horns and drum sound.”

“What?”

“Someone won the match!!!”

“This quick!”

“YES!”
