The Dream Saga - Chapter 79

The match ended, and the result was something that I couldn’t accept…

I lost the finale I was dominating and the most disturbing part of it was that I didn’t know how I lost.

I was on the ground numb with a shock and a taste of defeat in my mouth when I heard someone approaching me; I turned my head, and it was him who defeated me, Tom; I felt ashamed and awkward because I somehow miserably lost to him despite my big talks.

“Hey, are you alright? Stand up, take my hand!” He smiled pleasantly and gave me a hand. The whole stadium went silent and everyone was staring at us because it was rare when a winner gives a hand to a loser. I didn’t understand what was happening. My mind was in complete chaos…

“You are giving me a hand to show me how miserable I am. Well, thank you, but I am not taking your hand. I can stand on my own.” I spoke in a bitter tone and the reaction of Beelzebub was like as he knew that I’d say something like this.

“Fine, get up on your own!” He stepped back in respect, as we were in an official match.

I got up and saw everyone cheering for his name instead of mine and I felt pretty bad, but by now I was pretty calm and was happy for him too because I didn’t have to prove myself like him. He was happy.

I was sad, but I was happy at the same moment, because I guess everyone from Levlee knew I did my best and by their faces I guess they all knew the reason for my defeat. But not me. I saw Lee approaching me from the VIP room.

Suddenly, everyone went silent. I turned my head to find the reason for the utter silence and found out the queen was standing and was descending toward the arena with a leash in her hand that was chained to a slave. The look on her face was giving a vibe that she was up to no good.

“Congratulations, Lord of flies, you proved yourself that you’re a perfect combination of brain and brawn. I am so pleased to appoint you as the champion who will bring the trident to the devils.” The queen was glad she announced Beelzebub as the winner, and that reminded me of the winning wish.

“Oh, well, as promised, I will grant you any wish!” she brought the wish which I almost forgot. I was so messed with myself that I had no idea what was happening around my surrounding and I saw the leash in the hand of the queen that was attached to the thing I wanted to claim after the match ‘the Angel’ but unfortunately, I lost the match and a chance.

I stepped toward the angel and sat on my knee to look at it. As I got a closer look, I found out it was a girl. She was not much old, maybe just seven years,

“I am sorry I couldn’t free you. I am ashamed. I’m sorry that I gave you hope” I was filled with deep sorrow and disappointment because I failed and because of that this little child was again thrown into a miserable life of a slave.

“What’s your name? I will rescue you someday!” I pulled up her chin and asked her, but she was traumatized enough that she couldn’t answer.

I was just interacting with the angel when the queen called me,

“Leviathan king, if you’re finished, can you move back a little from my pet? She doesn’t like anyone other than me”

“Seems like there’s no one else she hates the more.” I muttered to myself.

“Did you say something?” she asked

“No, your majesty”

She pulled the leash and the little angel got choked a little; it pissed me and I was not only one who was pissed; I saw archangel Michael pissed as well. But we both were helpless.

“So, Beelzebub, what is your wish?” the queen asked.

“My wish? Let me think!” he moved his head left and right. He seemed as he was having trouble choosing and after a few minutes of thinking he yelled “I know what I want!”

“Yeah. Go on whatever you ask. We will fulfill it!” the queen smiled at him.

“So, what I want is….”

“It’s your slave Angel” he said something that shocked everyone and the look on the face of the queen was so amazing she was bamboozled. The people were watching with an emotion of “Oof” on their faces. I was shocked and I couldn’t believe what happened.

“What do you mean you need that Angel? This can’t be your wish!” the queen bawled at Beelzebub.

“Yes, your grace, you heard it right. I want this angel as my reward.” Beelzebub was smiling, with a cute, misbehaving look on his face.

“YOU CAN’T DENY THE REQUEST” while we were in the middle of this conversation, we heard someone shout from a distance. It was Michael, the leader of the angels. He descended from his seat as well.

The queen was cornered now; she had no choice other than to release the angel.

“Fine, this slave is all yours now. I hope you take good care of it.” she made a pissed face when she handed over the leash to Beelzebub.

“Thank you, your grace.” He got on his knees and unlocked the chained collar on the neck of the angel, and supported her so she could stand on her feet, but she was in such a bad shape that she couldn’t stand.

“Tom, wait, let me help you!” watching this made my heart to produce a sound. I rushed toward him and grabbed the little angel with my arms and asked him to let me pick her.

“Oh, thanks Kai,”

“Here, hold her like this…” as I was about to hand over the angel to Beelzebub, he interrupted me.

“No, Kai, I don’t think I deserve her.” He said something contradicting that confused me.

“What? What do mean? Are you abandoning her?” I narrowed my eyebrows and asked in an angry tone.

“NO! HELL NO! I mean I guess I don’t deserve her to take her with me, I guess you deserve to protect and caress her more than anyone here.” He spoke in a mild tone.

“What? You are handing her to me! For real? You wasted your wish for me? Why didn’t you ask anything for yourself!” I was shocked and confused because it was not making any sense.

“Ha-ha, well you can say that, actually I got whatever I wanted just by winning this match and there is nothing I can desire more, and the decision I made was necessary.so she’s yours now.”

Tears came out of my eyes. I was glad and speechless. “Tom, I don’t know how to thank you for all you did for me.” I was just thanking him. When someone approached us, I turned my head and found out it was Michael, the leader of the angels.

“Hello, lord Beelzebub and lord Leviathan, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I want to say something to you too,” he was smiling and seemed generous.

“Yes, it’s a pleasure to meet you as well.” We greeted him in response.

“I am thankful that you released this pure little creature from the clutches of the queen. I wish I can take her back with me, but I know I can’t because she’s not a war prisoner or someone born on our land, but I hope you will take good care of her. Please give her a good life to her lord leviathan, the angels will be always thankful for this.”

“Oh, please don’t say that, it was our duty, and if you want to thank, please thank Tom not me, I merel-” we were talking when the anchor called Tom for further rituals, as he heard him, he patted my shoulder and along with him Michael left too with a smile.

I was alone now with a new life form in my arms; I looked into her eyes. Her eyes were full of dreams and that melted my heart. Looking at her brought a smile to my face.

“You don’t have a name, do you? Um… let me name you then,”

“HOPE! How you like that?” I asked the child and as she heard the name, her eyes glowed and she nodded in response and that meant yes.

“Lord Kai!!!” meanwhile I heard someone calling me. I turned and found out it was rose who was yelling my name and was rushing toward me. And in just few seconds she arrived at my location.

“Huff! Huff!” she took a whiff of breath.

“Master Kai, are you alright!” She asked while catching a breath.

“Yeah, hey, Rose, hold her and take her to the palace, I don’t think hanging her around won’t be a nice idea. Here take her” I was getting an eerie feeling about the situation and to be cautious I handed Hope to Rose.

“Woah! She’s so cute, is she your adopted daughter? Who is she?” she jokingly asked me.

“Long story I will explain you later! Take her and go now.” The feeling I was having was getting was becoming stronger. It felt as something was about to happen.

“Kai! Kai! Wait!!” I heard Lee yelling from far I saw him running toward me. He was just few meters far from me.

I overlooked Lee and began trying to figure what was about to happen, and in just a sec I encountered something chilling there was something above my head…

“A Portal!”
