The Dream Saga - Chapter 80

The eerie feeling I had was getting stronger and stronger. I knew this feeling was not a good one. Something bad was about to happen, but what? I was looking every side to find the reason for this feeling, but I couldn’t find anything off until I looked above me.

There was a door shaped portal above my head which was falling right toward me, and just by the look of it, I knew what that was…

The door, the damn door that teleported me in this world. Ecirel told me the mixing of world was near but I didn’t know it was this close. I was bamboozled and my mind stopped working because I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t even have the Ancilia, the shield which had the power to stop the mixing.

I tried to get out of the way of the door so I can avoid teleportation into another world. But unfortunately, my body was fixed to the place somehow, and I couldn’t make any kind of movement. I looked around myself and what I saw was weird; the world around me was slow as time was passing differently for them.

Among them I saw Lee. who was just a few inches far from me. He was slowly entering the radius of the door and it filled me with fear because I did not want to drag someone else into my mess. Now the door was just a foot above of me and Lee was just a few centimeters away from touching me and BOOM!

The portal door devoured me in its white light, same as it did the first time, and as the first time I had no idea where I will land and what I will face, but I was a bit relieved because I was sure Lee was not dragged in this shit.

And finally, the white light disappeared, and I finally saw something. I saw the ground! I was falling! And I couldn’t do anything about it.

“THUD!”

I crashed on the ground, but this time I was not hurt. My endurance was quite enough that the crash felt like just a little slap.

“Ah, gosh, I thought I would hurt like hell, but shoo it was not hurtful!” I flipped my body on the ground and faced the beautiful blue sky with my chest facing toward it.

“Why my life is so unfair? I just lost a match and here I am, stuck in another problem. Anyway, it’s my problem and I have to solve it alone!” I nagged a little and sat on my knees.

“Ahh, my knee hurt. I guess I am getting old…. huh!” I was just preparing to stand up when I saw something strange.

“Where are we? What the fuck is this place?”

Someone came out walking with his hand on his head, completely puzzled. And it was Lee Ouroboros.

“Lee? Is that you? What the fuck!! Why are you here!!!” I bawled out.

“Huh! Kai? Is that you? Where are we? Did someone use teleportation magic on us?” he was confused as expected and I didn’t want to tell a long story to him now.

“Yeah, something like that! But the fact we are in another parallel world.”

“What is a parallel world?” he asked

“Um, how do I explain! Uh listen leave it just assume we are in another country which is completely different and anything can happen! Alright. Just follow my lead.”

“Okay, but where are we?” he asked something that I didn’t notice.

“Hmm, well delicate question Lee. Where the hell are we? Let me figure it out don’t worry I am good at, it so let’s observe!!” I acted as I was a super detective or something. I took a look around myself and found things that made me feel dumb.

“Huh, wait, what the hell. This place is like my world, the roads, the buildings and everything. Eeesh it’s earth!” I was so dumb that I had to look to figure out it was earth.

“Earth? What’s Earth?” Lee, who was already confused, got more troubled.

“don’t worry, I know everything about this place because this is my home, but there’s something that’s bugging me. Why is this place ghosted, why there are no cars or people here… huh? what’s this-”

I saw something unusual, and I hoped this was not what I expected it to be. I saw rusty cars being stacked over one and other and human bones everywhere. Gun cartilages and weird carcasses everywhere. It felt as it was abandoned. Like a post-apocalyptic world.

“Wait a minute! Bones? Bullets? This doesn’t feel right! Lee, get ready with your sword. I guess someone will welcome us soon!!!” I knew we were in a post-apocalyptic world and I had played enough games that I knew the things I noticed in this world were aiming toward something particular.

“Kai! Something is approaching us from the left! I sense a dark aura!” Lee yelled from the other side of the road. He was ready with his dark saber to slash. But I still had no idea what we were facing off with.

“Hmm, I can sense them now as well. They are in a large number, but what are they? Their movement is not uniform, it’s not an army or something, it’s something weird.” I tried to figure out what it was by my leviathan powers. I took a stance because the least and important thing I knew was that they were hostile.

After a minute, I saw them. And they were a hundred in numbers. And as I expected, they were the reason for the abandoned city.

“What are they? Seems gross!” Lee made a disgusted face and questioned.

“They are Zombies!!!”

“ZOMBIES? WHAT ARE ZOMBIES?” he was losing his mind, and I felt him.

“Um, zombies are zombies, I mean they are similar to undead, but if they bite you, you’ll turn into a zombie as well and they are attracted to sound they were human once but unfortunately they became this. Killing them is the only thing we can do for them so they get free from the pain!”

“But for now, let’s kill them! Here they come!”

As they approached closer, I activated my devil and serpent powers and charged at them along with Lee.

“Yaaahh!!!”

“Whack! Slash! Boom!”

Lee’s sword was slashing them as they were potatoes and carrots. He seemed happy, as he was in a playground or something while I was punching them with my power shots while protecting myself from their bites.

“Lee! You’re having quite the fun, don’t you?” I asked with a smile because I was having fun as well with my best buddy and also because I felt as a horror game protagonist.

“Yeah, I wanted to unleash my frustration for days! Finally, I get the chance!!” He was frustrated for days and he didn’t even let it come out for once my respect for him raised ten folds.

“KAI! LOOK OUT!!” suddenly he screamed. It took me a sec to respond, but it was too late. Something collided with my body hardly I didn’t understand what hit me; I crashed into one of the cars that was behind us.

“AH, shit! It hurts. What was it though?” My head was ringing, but I was still conscious. I looked up to see what hit me and what I saw was humongous.

There stood a big buffed zombie that was around twenty feet. All the other zombies fled as he stepped into the fight. Lee was slashing his legs and arms with his sword, but it wasn’t affecting much.

“FUCK! WHY DON’T YOU DIE!!!” he was screaming and putting all his strength to slash the big zombie.

“Ahh, I see you’re a tough one. Let me show you the true power of Ouroboros!” He stepped back and took a breath. A smile covered his face with confidence. It looked like as he knew what he was going to do.

He faced his sword and held it with both of his hands. His eye’s sclera changed color from white to pitch black. Two small horns came out of his forehead his pupil turned red. His aura was visible now it was dark and malicious. He was in his true form.

“Let’s show you what this sword can do!” He smirked before charging at him.

“SLASH! SLASH! SLASH”

He slashed the legs like it was a just a bunch of tied rope; he slashed his arms as they were fine bread. It didn’t feel like he was making much effort and his sword was doing it on his own, the Ouroboros marks were shining golden, in less than a minute he thrashed the whole creature and it was awesome but as he killed it the zombie exploded and its body parts went flying away here and there some of it came toward me too. I used my arms to counter them but somehow, I didn’t get hit.

“Huh! Kai? What’s this on your arm?”

“My arms? Wha- what the hell!!”
