The Dream Saga - Chapter 89

I was just looking around and was thinking of taking a bath to clean the bruises and bloodstains from my body when someone knocked on my door.

“Knock! Knock!”

“Come in” in response to the knock, I replied.

The person behind the door click opened the door, and their face came into my sight. Light came from the other side of the door that, for a moment it blinded me and the person’s face appeared black and unrecognizable to me.

“Huh, you’re back?” the person was a woman, and I recognized her voice, and it was the thing that was missing from my room.

“Rose?” I inquired.

“Master Kai?” she replied.

And as she closed the door back, her face was visible, and it was my dead hand maiden, Rose..

“Master! You are back! Are you okay?” as she saw me clearly her voice broke down. Tears came out of her eyes and she ran and hugged me. Her grip was so tight that it signified she was not having good time.

“Rose, what happened? Some said anything to you?” I got worried and asked her in a tense manner.

“No, I thought you died and you will never come back again! Please don’t disappear next time you are my only family. You’re annoying still you are my brother,” she was crying, and I felt pity for her till she told me I was annoying.

“He-he, don’t cry, I’m back. I won’t go anywhere. And I am not annoying you are, you shouldn’t be saying this to someone who just came back from teeth of death.”

“Oh, ha. I’m sorry.” She giggled.

“Where is everyone, Sabir and Skyler? Oh wait, where is the angel I told you to take care of? She’s fine, isn’t she?” I sat laid on the bed and asked.

“Oh, Master Lee collapsed on his way to his room, so they went to aid him. They will be here any minute, and the angel you gave me to take care of is so hard to take care of. It’s so hard! She’s asleep now.” Rose nagged with a tensed look on her face.

“Why? is she naughty? Is she mischievous?” I asked her with a little curious smile on my face.

“No, that’s the major problem. She doesn’t do that. She’s so silent. She’d refuse to eat food in hesitation, as she’d have to pay or she’d be punished for it. Whenever I dressed her, she’d wear it for ten minutes, then she’d undress and fold it back so it won’t get stained. She’d sleep whenever she’s told to. It’s like she’s awake even when she sleeps, like she’d wake up as someone will beat her for sleeping,” Rose explained.

“Oh, I see. I feel sorry for her now. That child is traumatized. She doesn’t feel safe yet. We have to make sure she feels safe and happy. All she needs is love right now,”

“I guess it’ll take some time for them to come here. I should get a bath till then.” I raised my arm so Rose can take it as a leverage so she can pull me up and take me to the bathroom.

“Ah, thank you Rose. I feel at ease now. By the way, can you ask the arch priest when the healer is arriving. I don’t want to feel hurt more.” I laid on the hot water tub and as I submerged my body into it. I felt as I was in heaven, but still my body was hurting.

As she heard me, she rushed out of the bathroom and went out to ask the arch priest. As she left, I felt some footsteps in my room, and in response to that, I shouted from my tub.

“Who is there? I am in the baths. The door is open. Come in,”

the people who were in my room turned out to be Skyler and Sabir.

“Hey, how are you two!!” I asked.

But their reaction was not what I was expecting. It was far more beautiful. They jumped in the bathtub to hug me; I was moved, my heart was filled with emotion that couldn’t be formed into words.

“We thought you died! Where were you? We love you!” I never saw this side of them and it was completely different. They were their true self. They loved me dearly.

After ten minutes of reunion, I gave them a towel to dry themselves and wore my favorite red silk bathrobe that so comfy that a person would fall asleep just by wearing it.

“Let’s sit. I will explain everything. I guess it’s about time when I tell all of you about my secret and real identity. Sorry, I never told any of you about this, but I guess today is the right time.” I grabbed a glass of wine and sat on my bed.

“Huh, what are you talking about?” Sabir asked.

“I will explain everything don’t worry,”

“Knock! Knock!” when I was about to reveal the biggest secret of my life that I had been keeping up with myself all this time, someone interrupted us.

“Come in!” I spoke in an annoyed voice.

“Master Kai, it’s me Rose, why are you annoyed? Look who I brought with me, the little angel who is living in a devil world and a stubborn person who doesn’t want to stay in bed. Lee Ouroboros, and about the healer, he’ll be here in an hour.” She sighed.

“Oh, it’s you, Lee? Why is he here?”

“Sorry, Kai, I had to ask something. It’s bugging me since day one and I can’t rest, I don’t want sleep, I want answers.” Lee spoke in a sickening manner.

“Hey! Go back to your room and rest. You can get your answers later too.” Kai bawled.

“NO, It’s fine. I will rest here on your bed. Move aside, let me lay down.”

I was giving Lee a death stare when Rose handed me the sleeping child. As I got her in my arms, I got startled.

“Ouch! It hurts!” as I held her, somehow my skin felt a pinching, burning sensation that made me scream.

“Kai! Are you alright? Does your body hurt?” Skyler and Sabir worriedly asked with a shocked face.

“No, I don’t know why, but as I held her in my lap, my body hurt like someone spilled burning hot oil over my body. You don’t believe me, try it yourself!” I looked at everyone’s face who were not believing and asked them to hold her.

“Huh, that’s weird. Let me try. Ouch!” Skyler screamed.

“SEE I TOLD YOU-”

“HAHAHAH… I was kidding it doesn’t feel bad anywhere in my body, actually it feels like as it’s healing, I feel as it purified every cell of my body, why did we both had contradicting experiences, hey Sabir, you try holding her.”

“Hmm, let’s see then. I see it hurts, but not too much. It feels as someone is scratching my whole body, but why?” all three of us had unique experiences and it was bizarre. It felt like someone did some kind of black magic on the child and it encouraged my curiosity to find more about it.

“Hey, Rose, you hold her!”

“Fine, well I brought her all the way here in my lap but let me try again because this seems fun, hmm, let me observe, I see! I don’t feel anything!”

“WHAT THE HELL!!!” all three of us were going insane as we discovered a new mystery to solve.

“Lee, your turn!” Lee, who was resting behind me, wasn’t paying much attention but still held the child in his arms and as he took her in his lap, he experienced something far weirder and spookier.

“Let see what we got here, hmm. AAAAHHHHHHH!!!” as he held her, a painful scream left his mouth that startled everyone. Without a second thought, he dropped the child on the bed. Looking at him scream fueled our curiosity.

“Look Blood! His arms are bleeding!” and to add spice to the phenomenon we saw Lee’s arms bleeding, and we quickly asked him to undress and as we saw his skin, we were shocked.

“His, his, his skin got peeled. I can see his muscles and even bones. What is wrong with this child?” Sabir yelled.

“I know! I know! What this is!” Lee suddenly shouted.

“She’s an angel. We are a devil! What else do you expect! We are an angel’s arch enemy and most angels have an upper hand on a devil. I have got an explanation. I once read in a book whenever an angel is at defeat of a devil, they’d use this against a devil to escape. Look, Kai is a half human-devil, so it just made him feel hurt a little. Sabir is a werewolf, but they’re not so good too. In fact, they’re monsters, so he felt just scratches. While Skyler is a human, so felt good because angels were made to protect humans and since she recognizes Rose and is not hostile to her so she felt nothing while I got my skin peeled off because I am a dark devil.”

“What’s a dark devil?”
