The Dream Saga - Chapter 92

I woke up in my bed after a beautiful night with the woman I love. Everything felt so glamorous. The sunlight that was falling over my face felt warm and comfy, the air that was coming from the window was hitting my hair and waving them in a wonderful way, the wonderful mixture of the heat and cool environment was so soothing, I didn’t know if the weather out was so good or the feeling I had since last night was. But I couldn’t care less. I was happy either way. I was enjoying everything and Rose came into the room.

“Good morning, Master Kai,” she greeted me.

“Good morning, Rose. How are you today?”

As I greeted her, she stopped whatever she was doing and looked at my face as she was shocked by me.

“What the hell! Master Kai! You’re not possessed right!!! Something is wrong. I must call someone!” She began stuttering and stammering as she saw a ghost.. Watching her react in such manner scared me a little.

“ROSE! WHAT HAPPENED? ARE YOU ALRIGHT?” I yelled at her.

“Huh, you’re master Kai, but you are different!” as I yelled. She came back to being normal. I didn’t understand why she reacted that way and it made me ask questions.

“What happened? Why were you acting like that?” I asked,

“You asked me ‘how my day going’ it so unusual for you, you don’t ask me such thing. I thought you were possessed, as you acted so nice in the morning. Usually you’d say like ‘Look! The mad maid has come! She takes child’s toys away!” and that pisses me, but today you didn’t” The reason for her reaction was hurtful, I didn’t know how to respond to that I felt dead inside. That I was such an annoying person, I never knew it sounded this much of irritating.

“You are a very, very, bad person. You broke my heart Rose, I had high hopes for you. GO AND GET A CUP OF HOT TEA FOR ME!!! And then get ready for your punishment!” I yelled at her to hide the embarrassment I had on my face.

“Yes, my master. I will go get what you want!” she smiled and went away, and I knew that smile was the signal that she succeeded in destroying me.

She left the room in a hurry; I leaned my head on the wall and was thinking about my future plans when someone knocked on my door.

“Knock! Knock!” the person behind the door genteelly knocked the door.

“Yeah, come in”

The door opened and the person who was behind the door was a familiar face I wanted to thank and ask tons of questions. It was Beelzebub.

“Hey, Kai. How are you? I heard you went missing? What happened??” He sat on a chair and asked me about myself. It felt nice that he cared and, more than that, it felt good that he didn’t come to me to brag or to make me feel small.

“Yeah, I am quite fine now. The healer will be coming here today for final treatment, then I will be fine as wine. How are you? Are your injuries healed?” I responded in the same manner to sound generous and lenient.

“Well, yeah, the wounds you gave me in the battle still hurt, but they’ll get better soon. By the way, I am glad that you’re recovering quite fine. Actually, I came here to say goodbye to you. As I will be traveling to the fallen angel territory as a guest in their tournament so I can learn how they fight and stuff. I hope the devil king is with me.”

“I see, I hope you learn the best you can and win the war, so it brings prosperity to our kind, and moreover you are our pride you are representing us, you have to win it buddy or I will beat you because we got our ribs and jaws broken too many times ha-ha.” I joked a little to cheer him up, and in response, he smiled at me. When we were talking, a question popped into my mind that I had for so many days.

“Hey! Hey! I have something to ask. I want to know how you defeated me that day. I can’t understand till date. It feels impossible. I even thought you used witch craft or something but as I know you, you are not a kind of person to use cheap tricks! So how did you managed to beat me when you were barely breathing?”

“Hmm, I knew you were curious, well I will tell you my little secret! Do you remember when you were about to finish me off, but instead of defending, I ran to the stands!” He had a teethful smile on his face that was making me curious even more.

“Yeah, I remember when I summoned Apep. I almost wanted to kill you. It was like his dark aura was taken over me and the only thing I wanted was victory. And I also thought that are you stupid to stand in a corner. Well, yes, what happened then?” I asked.

“Um, I chanted a spell that summoned butterflies that flied and sat over the audience and to distract you from the butterflies, I used my mana whips to attack you. Well, that time I successfully deceived you and that was the part where you lost the match.” He smirked

“What? How?” I was shocked. I never thought he played his best move in such a vague moment.

“I will not lie, but I really thought I would die today when you strangled me with your snakes and you totally deceived me by making me absorb your snakes for power than poisoning my blood, it really was extraordinary I am still a fan of that moment and when you thought you won I used my Ace the butterflies.”

“I used them to suck the mana from the audience. That mana I stole from them was enormous like why not imagine sucking pure mana from millions of strong-blooded devils and using all that energy to defeat just a single opponent and thanks to my speciality I was able to reflect the energy at you with double power!”

Whatever he told me was unbelievable. I had the answers to all my questions, and I felt dumb; I regretted many of my decisions I made during the match but I was not angry because someone who was more capable than me won the tournament and I got what I fought for.

“Ah, man, now I get why they call you a real strategist. You have my respect Tom, I know you’re going to rock in the battle of trident as well.”

“Ah. I hope so. By the way, where’s the angel? I want to say goodbye to her too and I want to make sure she’s in right hands.” He was as caring and a true gentleman as ever.

“Rose takes care of her for now. I guess she trusts her. And I couldn’t meet her too. As I was not here, well, I found out something interesting about her. She’s an angel and if a devil she doesn’t know touches her, then the devil will get severe burns and painful wounds on his body, bizarre right!”

“What the hell, thank god I will note this down as I have to fight against angels too. By the way, where were you? I couldn’t meet you for days. What happened? I heard rumors that the leviathan king went to a remote place to learn something evil.” He looked at me with eyes full of concerns and questions. And I knew there was no going around so, I told him the truth.

After explaining the whole story to him for half an hour I was exhausted, his face was worth the time I spent explaining him, he couldn’t believe and was processing all this data when Rose came into the room with Hope (the angel) on her back and a trolly with breakfast.

“Took you so long, Rose. Where were you?” I asked

She had an annoyed face. She looked exhausted; she walked toward me and handed Hope to me and cracked her back and sat on the chair.

“Woah what happened Rose? You look so furious!” I asked in a serious tone while handing a cup of tea to Tom.

“AHH! Nothing. I got tired by walking all the way back from walking in the palace and I got scolded by the head maid. Because she wanted to pull cheeks of Hope and I told her no but she didn’t listen and got her hands burned, like master Kai, it was not even my fault.”

As we heard her, we exploded with laughter. Even Hope giggled. I loved her annoyed face.

“Have some tea, you deserve it!” I covered my face with my hand and gave her a cup of tea as well, and in the middle of this. Someone knocked on my door.
