The Dream Saga - Chapter 94

We all were deciding who will go to the expedition and who will not and it was causing conflicts between us.

“Hey! I have an idea!” Sabir shouted.

We all together looked at him with our eyes, staring at him with curiosity. He looked confident to me and I wished whatever he had to say would be good.

“What if we leave Skyler and Hope at someone’s place who we trust?”

“A person who we trust? Hmm, but who could be that person!” Lee asked.

“Um, what about my uncle Killian? He is trustable and strong enough to protect anyone!”

“Yes! Sabir is right, remember, when we were with him! He stood against legendry dragon just with a sword. I mean if a person who thinks he can take down the legendry Welsh dragon and White dragon alone can easily beat anyone!” I stood up and shouted.

“Hey! Hey! Wait, you don’t decide if you will take me with you or not! It’s my decision! Not yours, okay? And I am the leader of the party not you two. I survived the werewolves, I survived the ‘forest of strangers’ alone, and I know about mostly all creature in this damn world. Lee you may know everything about Devils and serpents but you don’t know about monsters and legendry creatures, but I do!” Skyler began to yell at everyone and asserted dominance as usual but whatever she told us made sense and it made me feel like we needed her wisdom. Because she was the only person who has been to mostly all part of the world.

“Hmm, I guess you are right but we still can’t risk your life, I don’t want to lose anyone anymore.” Kai moved toward the window and spoke.

“Hey, I can. I know many other things as well, I know how to fight! And how to protect myself. I don’t need a man to protect me okay I am going I don’t care what you all think okay!”

She was stubborn and it was hard to persuade her and arguing her was of no use, me, Sabir and Lee looked at each other’s face and sighed.

“Okay, fine you can come with us but only thing I want is that you must protect yourself.” Lee patted her shoulder and moved toward the door.

“Okay guys, I will be leaving now and Kai, I want to talk to you about something so, meet me in the garden as soon as you get ready.” He left the room hastily just after telling me this.

“Ah, so, it’s decided. All four of us will go to the site and we will leave Rose with Hope at Killian’s place.”

“WHAT? WHY ME? When did I became a part of this?” Rose stammered in a nervous tone.

“Well, there are plenty of reasons, first and most important there has to be someone with Hope to take care of her and I don’t think this place is safe for you too anymore.” I explained.

“Ah, no further questions okay I will go dressed.” I went into my dressing room and soon as I entered Skyler and Sabir left the room as well.

After dressing myself, I came out of the dressing room today after I don’t how many days I enjoyed my favorite thing that was dressing. I wore a red long coat with white shirts with golden embroidery on it.

I brushed Hope’s hair and whacked Rose’s head a little in a funny manner. In response she cried in an annoyed way.

“Sorry, but you have a slapable head I couldn’t hold myself.”

I looked down the window of the gallery and saw Lee standing in the garden waiting for me. I rushed through the stairs and reached him.

“Hey Kai, took you some time anyway come this way let’s sit and talk” he greeted me and asked me to come along with him. Without any question I followed him. I felt I was in a crime movie and was dragged into mafia.

“What do you want to talk about?” I asked

“We can’t start the expedition right now; we need some time for preparation and there are few things starting today for you!” He spoke in a calm tone and it seemed like whatever he was telling me was thinked and neatly decided. I felt as he was so cautious because deep down he was feeling as he was at fault for my father’s death.

“What kind of things are starting today?” I asked.

“There’s a festival organized in the city for your return and your beautiful performance in the tournament of hell. you exceeded everyone’s expectations and did really well in short you made the domain and pride of serpent and devils up, so the people want to thank you.”

“Oh, I see.”

I rested my arm on his shoulder and asked him to sit on the bench that was just a meter far from us, I cleared my throat and leaned my self on the bench’s.

“Hey, Lee I want to ask you something? Do you think you were the reason for my dad’s death and you could’ve prevented it?” As I asked the question his eyes got teary and he used his handkerchief to wipe his tear.

“Kai, I am sorry. I feel it was my fault maybe it is, I don’t know but when I look back at it now, I see hundreds of ways. I know if I wanted then I could’ve saved him but I couldn’t or I didn’t maybe it was my own decision that’s killing me.”

“Hey, I don’t think it was because of you, it was all his decision he did what he had to he knew the consequences, and he had no regrets so don’t blame yourself it’s okay brother I will always love you, I don’t say he died because of you. you are not a person who can kill an innocent I know you.”  I was trying my best to console him, I had no idea he was still blaming himself for my father’s death, he was suffering all this time alone and I had no idea about it, I felt so useless at that time I even thought I was not a good friend.

“No, Kai, I couldn’t save him, he died because of my decision, If I had told me no Lee wait for me too we all will go together than I might have saved him I am not saying he died because he didn’t ask my help but he had not much trust in me that he preferred to die. He told me to run because he knew I was not capable, ofcourse he’d think like that after watching me an elite warrior being his mana sucked out by a dumb alien” he was not thinking straight he had already accepted himself as the faulty. He was not listening to me he was lost, but I thought it was not his fault because even though he was a big brother to everyone he was a also a twenty year old guy.

And it was too much to hold for anyone,

I stood up from my seat and removed my coat and folded the sleeves of my shirt and slapped his face hard.

“WHACK!”

“Shut up! Okay! Shut up!!! You didn’t kill himself he did it himself, his last words was it was his new world and he knew he had no way to survive so he sacrificed himself so even if he told you to save him you couldn’t have saved him, he died happily he loved us, he told you to take care of me that meant he knew how much of responsible and trustable you are. He trusted the whole faith of his world on your word so stop saying it and if one is at fault then it’s me. Or both of us or none of us. Do you understand”

Both of our eyes were full of tears and our heart were full with emotions, I wiped his tears and mine and hugged him and patted his back while telling him ‘it’s not his fault and it’s okay it’s better to let go then holding on sometimes’ he cried on my shoulder for next ten minutes and it felt as he let it all out.

“Are you okay now?”

“Yes, kind of don’t tell anyone else or I will kill you”

“Yeah chill buddy I wont tell anyone else about it I have your secret safe with me and I don’t want to tell that I cried too, I will get a title of a crybaby soon.”

While we talked someone from far away was running toward us and after few seconds he arrived at us, he was a knight. He had a message with him,

“Greetings, my majesty. Sorry for my late arrival. I have been appointed to give you this message,”

He handed a scroll and ran back to his duty.
