The Dreams Of A Goddess - Chapter 11 1.9 The Truth
She had forced her entry over the door gate that only opened if the person was permitted by the owner of the house but she was an exception. She knew waiting for Nicolas was not a good decision to make if she were to escape her brother and so she made her way to jump of the door gate so she wouldn’t get caught and she could call Nicolas at his door rather than stand outside the door gate.
She had dug through her bag to grab her cellphone and immediately called Nicolas’s phone number.
The phone directed to Nicolas rather quickly but it was sufficient enough to ask Nicolas if he was at home.
“Hello?” Nicolas groggily said as he was draped in his white sheet tucked in with Meng by his side.
“Nicolas,” Lu Ru whispered into the phone and Nicolas felt it was a rare occasion that she was doing this. “Are you at home?”
“Yes, why?” Nicolas was in the process of getting out the bed without disturbing Meng from his sleep.
“I need to get in. I’m at your front door. I had to skip the door gate because I don’t want someone to know that I’m here,” she still continued to whisper.
“I know you’re there. Where are you, little bunny?” her brother voice echoed through the residential area and Lu Ru went stiff.
Nicolas had also heard the voice so he immediately connected the dots and flew down the stairs and opened the door to see a shaking Lu Ru holding her phone in panic. Nicolas hung up the and directed her into his house without making any noise with the entrance door. Nicolas placed her in the living room and he started to make some hot coffee for Lu Ru to relax.
Nicolas realized that the clothes she wore was not normal and looked more kinkier than what she would wear when she was at home. He had suspected that it was her brother but he didn’t want to overwhelm Lu Ru with too much shock.
“Are you okay?” Nicolas huddled against Lu Ru as he made her fit into his arms when he took both of their drinks to her to loosen up.
She did not answer. She had replayed the scenes that she shared with her brother and all of this had started to make Lu Ru release more batches of tears in front of Nicolas.
“H-he lied to m-me,” Lu Ru let out. “He lied to me!”
Lu Ru became hysterical as she broke down onto Nicolas’s chest without spilling her coffee that was handed to her. It had taken quite a while for her sobs to die down but by the time she finished, Meng had come down the stairs to see a messily kinked up tear-strained Lu Ru with a concerned Nicolas clenching his free hand in frustration.
Meng had just showered and came down the stairs with a robe and was very inquisitive with the position that the two had.
“What is with this?” Meng had pointed at the two but noticed Lu Ru had an off putting vibe. It was like she wasn’t the same.
“Her brother may have not died, that’s what she’s crying about,” Nicolas said seriously because he didn’t want her to suffer any kind of abuse any more than she had to.
She had already suffering under her brother’s selfishness and his fetishes. He didn’t want her to fall in the same trap again.
Meng did not know the real reason as of why Nicolas was considered a benefactor to Lu Ru but he could tell why by the emotional imbalance that she was suffering under before meeting him.
Meng had decided to join the group so there wouldn’t be much burden on Lu Ru’s shoulders and the more protectors, the better. And so they continued to talk about why she had come here.
“So why did you come here? Why did your brother call you ‘little bunny’?” Nicolas patted her shoulder and Meng sat on a different furniture facing Lu Ru’s body.
There had appeared new hickey marks that Meng had discovered that weren’t there when he saw her yesterday. Nicolas only asked questions because he didn’t want Lu Ru to blame herself or take on the burden herself.
“My brother said that our parents were dead but they’re not. I thought that we would be homeless but never had he told me that our parents were alive. He just wants me to disappear, does he?” Lu Ru could not help but be self-deprecating. “He couldn’t help having a little sister so he took me away and pretended that mom and dad were dead. Or he just wanted to taint me. Why was I born in this world if I wasn’t wanted? Why did he trick me?”
Nicolas and Meng listened to Lu Ru and how devastated she was, they now knew how serious it was. To have a sibling that used you when you fully trusted them was what they considered betrayal. Lu Ru was facing betrayal because in order to sacrifice for someone, you must sacrifice something from yourself.
Lu Ru sacrificed her relationship with her parents for trusting her brother. And all she got was betrayal right from the start. Before they could even ask any more questions, Lu Ru continued.
“I had trusted him and loved him as a brother but he took advantage of it. He used my body. He even took away my virginity. I trusted my everything to him and yet when he told me that our parents died, he took advantage of my depressed state,” Lu Ru continued crying.
The waterworks were still in effect but Nicolas and Meng both nodded to each other that Lu Ru had to stay away from her brother. Her brother had impacted her too much to the brink of Lu Ru losing her originality in herself. And not only was she going to separate herself from her brother, they needed to contact her parents fast. It was not going to be pretty but she needs her parents. She was deprived of the love she nearly forgotten in years and they had to patch up the relationship.
Lu Ru calmed down again and Meng, spoke up, “Who’s your parents? Can you tell us so we can find them for you?”
He wants to carefully tread upon the conversation because Lu Ru was still emotionally unstable and needed some time to work out her concerns.
“My parents are the CEOs of Elsum Tech. Inc.,” Lu Ru sniffles while replaying.
Elsum Tech. Inc.? Meng exploded with shock that such a tragedy happened to a very wealthy family that also happened to be socialites for lots of generations. Meng did not hesitate to call her parents company because this was a big matter that could not be settled quickly. Lu Ru needed to be revealed to her parents because the relationship between siblings had gone beyond repair. Her brother needed to be gotten rid of.
And so, Meng hooked up the company and called the front desk lady and put it on speaker.
“Hello, this is Elsum Tech Inc. How may I help you?” the desk lady answered.
“Hello, this is Xiao Meng, I believe that I bought stocks from your company and I would like to talk to Lu Huang about my transaction and it’s urgent. I don’t have much time,” he spoke quite casually.
“Of course, please wait a second,”
The lady put them on hold as she called Lu Huang on the thirty-third floor who was chatting with a young man and was interrupted by the phone call.
Lu Huang excused himself from the middle of the room to answer the call.
“Yes?” He replied.
“A man called Xiao Meng said he wanted to go over his stock transaction as soon as possible,” the desk lady responded.
Xiao Meng? The successful heir of a game company? What was he talking about with stocks?
Lu Huang decided to take the call because it involved Xiao Meng and other than stocks, the stuff that Xiao Meng May be saying was not stocks.
“Let the call go through then,” he approved.
Meanwhile, Meng had just received that his call had went through and was about to be connected. He counted to three before he heard the other side of the phone greet him.
“Oh hello, Mr. Xiao, how may I help you?” Lu Huang chuckled slightly.
“There’s nothing to help but I want to ask you? How is your daughter?” Xiao Meng suddenly asked and out Lu Huang in a tight spot.
