The Dreams Of A Goddess - Chapter 13 1.11 Making The Decision

Meng and Nicolas shared a long silence as they ate. They did not talk and have not talked since Lu Ru had entered their house. It was always just two of them but now, it seemed like their relationship had evolved around her. They knew they had struck a wall in their relationship but Lu Ru had to be present to help them out of the obstacle they had now crossed.

They seemed to open their mouths trying to start a conversation until Meng’s phone rang and the caller ID was shone.

Lu Huang.

Lu Huang took forever in investigating her daughter and had gotten back to Meng to give an answer about. Lu Huang did not know how important this task was so he crept cautiously while finding information and found out more than what he was supposed to find.

Lu Huang’s intel had caught Lu Zhen hanging with a gang called Jox and smiling with information in his hands. When he investigated further, he saw Lu Huang drag a girl and grab the information in her hands to the same gang. This was all caught by the undercover police that did their best to cooperate in helping a violence case in which the girl may or may not be severely traumatized from being involved from a gang.

The more Lu Huang knew, he could see how much importance that Lu Ru had to him and even could see the hint of love and doting on her while they spent time together. Of course, even if there wasn’t a clear picture of the girl, Lu Ru could prove the evidence.

Another thing he got reported of was Lu Ru visiting clubs with Lu Zhen and very ambiguous activities by the private investigators. They had gotten witness proof that Lu Ru was highly dazed whenever she came to the programs they provided.

Even when Lu Huang wanted answers from his son, he got none in avail. Lu Huang felt betrayed and didn’t like how much Lu Zhen had not cooperated with his work to find Lu Ru. Lu Huang looked back at all the counters he had with Lu Zhen and realized all along, he played with him and knew where Lu Ru stayed. Because under Lu Huang’s nose, Lu Ru was under disguise with Lu Zhen.

And he made a decision to take back Lu Ru and abandon Lu Zhen from ever stepping into her life. He was going to make a life-changing decision by calling Meng.

“I want back Lu Ru,” Lu Huang stated. “I want her to come back and not experience that pain. I want her to see a lot of things and make it up to her.”

“Are you sure? She may not want to see your son,” Meng doubted.

“Yes,” Lu Huang spoke. “Her mother has been praying that the time will come that Lu Ru would come home. I will make Lu Zhen leave the house. Since he has Jox as his family, I will let him go. But Lu Ru, she is our precious. We will protect her from the pain she wants to leave behind. If Mr. Xiao wants, we can leave her under your protection.”

Meng said nothing. He was honestly considering the fact that Nicolas and him have been taking care of Lu Ru. But Lu Ru deserved a life simple with her parents. She needed to bond to get everything off her chest. She deserved to go back to her roots and claim her place. So she could always be near his radar if anything were to happen.

“She will be able to live with you. I will only be able to provide with protection whenever she needs to go outside,” Meng sighed.

Meng knew that Lu Ru wanted to go home. Nicolas had been always emphasizing what was good for Lu Ru and this was her chance to take back what she had missed because of her brother.

“Then I entrust her in your care until I finish this mess up,” Lu Huang spoke softly that Meng could only here. “Thank you for taking care of her when she needed it. I hope that I can make up the time we had lost when all of this is done. Thank you, Mr. Xiao.”

“Of course,” Meng smiled.

The phone hung up and and Nicolas and Meng stared at each other, knowing each other’s thoughts.

“It’s time we let her go when he says it’s done,” Meng sighed knowing that their relationship had also bonded under Lu Ru’s assistance.

“And we can have time together to make it up to each other then?” Nicolas hoped that Meng and he could live normal again. “We’ll also ask Lu Ru to be our judge then?”

Nicolas knew that Lu Ru was the main bridge to their relationship and all of their bonds had grown during this time. Meng also knew that Nicolas and he were reliant on Lu Ru. Everything she did changed their worlds that they had thought to have been small. And in that small world they lived in, there was a big world, unknown to them, opened to the ones that could embrace each other in life and death without needing to care about the wandering eyes and rumors trying to break them apart. The trust they had in each other was all that they needed, not what others fabricated. Unless, those men were greedy for more than what they have.

But for Meng and Nicolas, the world evolved around them and nothing could break them apart besides the possibility of falling out of love. For now, it was not of the thinkable but there was always the looming doubt in the back of their minds.

They had stared, again, at each other at what it seemed like more than just a moment. Lu Ru walked in to the scene in which she saw funny.

She had thought she had seen a scene in which about what they were going to do. In her mind, she had thought that Nicolas and Meng were going to kiss because of how close they sat.

Unknowingly to her, she let out a laugh that took the two out of their daze to turn their attention towards Lu Ru. The next thing she knew was their faces had turned red in embarrassment.
