The Dreams Of A Goddess - Chapter 8 1.6 Her Passion Come True
Lu Ru continued to stare into Nicolas’s eyes and he resigned. He couldn’t just leave Lu Ru at his house and he knew he was depriving her rights as a human. Nicolas did his best to keep Lu Ru’s existence to a minimum but he wanted to ask her a question.
“What type of job do you want to get?” Nicolas asked.
“I want to own a cafe. I want everyone to taste what I make,” Lu Ru’s eyes did not contain a sparkle but rather a glow.
This had made Nicolas entranced for a few moments before he composed himself and continued interviewing Lu Ru of her interests for finding a job.
“Well, what is your favorite thing that you like doing on your free time?”
” What’s free time? I have been hacking for my brother to get certain information from Cohle. It’s been my job to support my brother,” Lu Ru tilted her head to the side.
Nicolas was quite stumped by this but hearing that she hacked for most occasions with her brother, he felt that her life all orbited around her brother. And that bond was not healthy for her relationship.
“Nevermind that,” Nicolas cleared his throat. “If you want to start a cafe, I’ll help you but I want to ask you. Are you able to cope with people knowing you?”
Lu Ru stood frozen for a while before slowly nodding.
“I want to live anew. I don’t want to be like myself before. Is it okay for you?” Lu Ru told the truth but she worried about Nicolas’s burden.
She didn’t want to drag him down from what he was currently doing in his life. She had abruptly appeared in his life so she didn’t want his own private time to be taken away from him.
Nicolas did not mind but seeing how much innocence that Lu Ru had in her, he felt sorry for her. Not even once did he think that she was a hassle because, to be honest, Nicolas was a freelancer. Nicolas had all the time in the world to do what he did best. And if Lu Ru was to stay at home, he could easily pay her and make her be his housekeeper.
But since she wanted to open a cafe, he would do it for her. He would do everything so Lu Ru could live a new and improved life that she didn’t have before.
Not because Lu Ru has a halo over her headshe doesn’tbut because he wanted to teach her things that she had missed out on life. No one should be taken and hidden for someone else’s use and come out somehow messed up but innocent. Maybe she isn’t innocent but she’s oblivious of the liberties that she has let others give her and that she is deprived of the many things that she could’ve experienced with socializing.
“It’s fine. Really,” he assured her. “I want to give you chance and you’ll do fine.”
Lu Ru, once again, looked into his eyes deeply, before saying, “Thank you. Thank you for letting me find something that I can love. I will not let you down.”
“You don’t have to do that. As long as you are happy with your career, I am willing to help you grow,” Nicolas smiled.
Lu Ru did not say anymore but Nicolas was getting ready to register the things Lu Ru had been lacking. Since Lu Ru wanted to open a cafe, he was going to help Lu Ru register her passport, bank account, and a few other necessities that would aid her in the future.
They had postponed their plans for the cafe for a few months before they started to officially find a location to open the place. They named the cafe Delightful Taste. It would be most likely be mistaken for cakes but it was a good thing because the menu couldn’t always be just coffee and candy.
They had settled the cafe near buildings that had quite a lot of foot traffic so the cafe wouldn’t be as empty and Lu Ru’s purpose was to share her love of coffee and to afford that much coffee needed money. So, they took a few months to prepare the menu, interior design, and decorations along with stocks of coffee in the back. Not just those, but also hire some staff. It’s obvious that you can’t help everyone with only yourself as all the roles in a cafe.
In a matter of months, Delightful Taste opened to the public. The staff and Lu Ru were properly trained and received customers. Customers started to flow in during the afternoon and evenings when the people on the streets started to notice that there was a new shop that opened closer than the other shops that had stationed further.

A few months later
Lu Ru’s shift ended in the afternoon and Nicolas had come to see how Lu Ru was doing.
“Ru ‘er,” Nicolas smiled at Lu Ru taking off the apron she was wearing.
“Oh, Nicolas, welcome,” Lu Ru put away the apron and approached Nicolas.
The staff had already known that Lu Ru and Nicolas were partial owners to the cafe that they had built and respectfully bowed when they met him. It was not that they didn’t think of shipping both Lu Ru and Nicolas together but Nicolas had found a girlfriend for himself. Lu Ru had been notified from Nicolas already so it wasn’t a surprise. And his girlfriend also happened to want to open up a bar a few blocks over.
Nicolas coming to see Lu Ru just meant business and both of them knew that. But this time, it was going to be the first time that Lu Ru was going to see his girlfriend.
“So, are you ready to go to the bar?” Nicolas asked as Lu Ru tied her long hair into a bun.
“Of course. To have the pleasure to see your girlfriend is amazing,” Lu Ru flashed a smile. “Besides, I heard your girlfriend is handsome.”
