The Dreams Of A Goddess - Chapter 9 1.7 Meeting His Girlfriend

Lu Ru and Nicolas walked the whole way to the newly opened bar a few blocks away. Nicolas opened the door for Lu Ru to go in first. The newly opened bar was considered to be a popular spot now seeing that it was doing well on the first day according to Nicolas.

Nicolas led both of them to his girlfriend and she finally saw him.

Yes. Nicolas had a girlfriend and that person was a man that stood behind the counter, serving the people at the bar with their drinks.

“Meng ‘er,” Nicolas called out to his girlfriend.

His girlfriend turned over to see Nicolas standing next to a beautiful lady that looked pretty casual for a bar. He was seen to be calling a person to take over his shift at the counter since he was the owner. It was after an employee took over his role that his girlfriend approached them with an inquiring gaze.

“Meng ‘er, meet the girl I was talking about,” Nicolas hugged his girlfriend and slopped put a kiss on his cheek.

His girlfriend supposedly called Meng, looked over the girl that he thought was a threat until he saw the eyes that stared into his.

“I’m Lu Ru, nice to meet you. Nicolas is my benefactor,” Lu Ru greeted him.

Lu Ru’s eyes showed excitement in her eyes and some surprise so Meng lowered his guard a little.

“Nicolas, no wonder your girlfriend is so handsome. I want to cuddle him to death but I can’t do that,” Lu Ru pouted and looked towards Nicolas. “I want someone to cuddle with.”

Meng and Nicolas’s eyes showed surprise but Nicolas was the first to laugh it off.

“It’s okay. Meng ‘er won’t bite, will you?” Nicolas had loving eyes towards Meng but Meng ignored him and went to greet Lu Ru.

“It’s also nice to meet you. I’m Xiao Meng and I’m the owner of this bar. I hope my boyfriend didn’t give you any hardships while you have lived with him the longest,” Meng showed a soft expression to Lu Ru.

“It’s fine,” Lu Ru replied with sparkling eyes. “Nicolas helped me open that cafe a few blocks away. It’s called Delightful Taste. At first, Nicolas was to make me his housekeeper when he found me but I’m glad I have a place to work so I don’t have to burden Nicolas much. He has already done much and I don’t want him to sacrifice any more for me. And for you guys to meet, I’m happy that Nicolas has found you as he has more free time in his schedule and it gave you guys the opportunity to bond.”

Meng was really surprised how much Lu Ru cared for Nicolas and how much burden she didn’t want to pull down Nicolas from his already successful position. Meng had gotten a good impression of Lu Ru that she wasn’t one of those white lotus b*tches that clung on to their benefactor for them to fall in love.

Meng decided to treat Lu Ru as a fellow sister from that point because Lu Ru did not look like she was much trouble as those dirty scheming women.

“Oh, Delightful Taste? That’s your cafe?” Meng raised his eyebrows. “I’ve heard all your coffees are really as they say like your shop’s name.”

“Of course! If you want to ever come around the block for some relaxing time with Nicolas, you guys can come over. It’s a place that you will not forget. And I’ll treat you guys for a meal. You won’t have to pay because I still Nicolas a lot,” Lu Ru did not wait for the opportunity to slip and promoted herself.

Meng did not care because he saw the confidence Lu Ru had for her coffees and menu. As a fellow sister, he was willing to go because her cafe was set up before his bar and Nicolas did talk very greatly of it.

“Then I’ll make sure to visit once I have free time,” he answered.

Lu Ru’s happiness in little tasks made Meng more attracted to Lu Ru and subconsciously brought Lu Ru to his chest. He had just hugged Lu Ru and rubbed her head softly like she was a cat and he just registered what he did seconds later. Nicolas was quite surprised by the action his girlfriend did but at least, all of them were getting along very well.

Meng detached himself from hugging Lu Ru despite loving Lu Ru for being that simple-like person. However, if Lu Ru knew what went through their minds, she would’ve laughed because even if she was willing to try that kind of relationship, she still had to find her lover. It couldn’t be both of them and she would just consider them as her older brothers.

“Mm,” Xiao Meng hummed. “We’ll see each other next time. I look forward to when I visit Delightful Taste then. Off you go, little Ru.”

Meng had bonded with Lu Ru a lot within a few hours and decided to change to the nickname her made for her.

“I’ll walk you there. We can’t let you get into any trouble,” Nicolas also stood up and pecked another kiss to Meng’s cheeks. “I’ll see you after I send Ru ‘er back to the cafe.”

Meng hummed again and both Nicolas and Lu Ru took their leave from the bar.

“What’s the bar’s name?” Lu Ru suddenly asked Nicolas, forgetting that she didn’t ask much earlier than now.

“Oh, it’s called Beer Garden. If you want to ever express your feelings, you can come over,” Nicolas answered.

Both of them left the bar without noticing one of the customers eyed Lu Ru intensely. Meng had walked away to tend to his customer’s drinks needs behind the counter and did notice.

“Little Ru has grown up. I wonder if she has remembered me?” the figure covered in the shadow of a corner in the room smirked.
