The Dungeon Of Pandemonium - Volume 1 Chapter 10 Despair
When Jin left the minotaur do what he wanted, he immediately ran towards the hunters who were currently hiding next to s wall.
When the minotaur skeleton appeared, the hunters were shocked because this was the biggest skeleton they had ever seen!
When it appeared, it didn’t take long before everyone grabbed their weapons and got ready to fight it.
However, with just a few moves, the monster had totally repelled them and sent them flying.
With just this show of strength, green immediatly knew that they were no match for this monster. And so he made a decision.
“White! Black! You two take the path the minotaur just came from and go back to the first floor to tell them what happened! We will hold it back long enough for you two to escape.”
“But! We don’t want to leave you behind!”
“Move it! The longer you stay here, the less your chance of getting out of here alive and the worse our sacrifice will be useful so move it!”
White wanted to add something, however black on the other hand had understood that they really didn’t stand a chance and that this was their will for the two of them to survive.
The twin brothers ran back to the first floor and it only took a couple of seconds before they finally disappeared from their view.
“At least the two of them will make it out alive!”
The three of them laughed it out as they charged towards the minotaur with the intention to stall for time. They didn’t even think about defeating it as they knew it was impossible for them.
The two brothers who were running towards the first floor were crying in despair as they had seen most of their friends and the entirety of their group get killed and in the end they were the only two who could make it out alive.
They had understood what green and the two other old hunters had wanted when they had them leave. They wanted them to stay alive to continue to support their village as they were important for their future.
And most importantly, they wanted him to give them the message that they must never go on the second floor as they had completely wiped an entire team of hunter except for the two who had been sent to give the message to the chief.
It didn’t took long before they managed to make it to the stairs and when they saw them, they sprinted to climb them up to the first floor.
On the first floor, everything was the same. The will-o-wisp were making light here and there and the men’s were currently working in joy inside the mine unaware of the catastrophe that had just happened a few minutes before.
The twins didn’t waste any time and immediately went to the living areas. Ever since they had found this dungeon, they had started to transport their belongings to the first floor of the dungeon and almost everyone had left the village to come live in a more promising land instead.
“Chief!”
When the two arrived in the living ares cover in blood everywhere, they immediately raised a commotion.
“What is it?”
The chief that had just finish to bath in the river near the village had a great smile on his face. Ever since they found this dungeon, je would seem to rejuvenate a little more every day.
“We aren’t in a cave! We are in a dungeon! On the second floor there are monsters! We are the only two who survived from the fight against the hundred of skeletons and the minotaur skeleton!”
The two of them dropped their heads at the end of the sentence as they were too disappointed in themselves to even bother to look up to their chief when he was talking to them.
The civilians didn’t understand what it meant to be inside a dungeon however when they heard that the two of them were the only one that survived, this instantly raised a commotion once again.
“EVERYONE CALM DOWN!”
The chief’s good mood and totally fallen from heaven to hell in a few sentence.
“Everyone continue your daily tasks, I will clarify everything with them, no need to worry.”
Hearing these words seemed to have an effect on the group as they all went back to their own tasks without any complaints.
“White, Black, come with me inside the house.”
When they sat down, they explained everything to the chief including the fact that the monsters couldn’t get on the stairs leading to the first floor. Hence as long as there weren’t anyone going to the second floor, they didn’t have anything to worry about.
Of course, the chief was saddened by the last of his hunters but at least there was a good news which was that the monsters could not come up to the first floor even if they wanted too.
The chief instantly summoned everyone from the village and explained the situation while prohibiting anyone from going to the second floor including the fact that they had lost a lot of the hunters in this expedition.
The chief did not plan on training new hunters as they would be starting to sell tools and weapons made of metal to the other tribes in exchange for food.
After the meeting was over, everyone went back to their own tasks while purposely avoiding the area where the stairs leading to the second floor were located.
Everyone except black and white were able to forget what had happened on the second floor and they decided that they needed to get stronger in order to one day be able to beat that kind of monster with ease so that they could protect what they wanted to protect and beat up what they wanted to beat up.
At this time, on the second floor of the dungeon, Jin and Iris were walking where the fight had happened and they were collecting the equipment on the dead hunters in order to equip their troops for the next fight.
Once they finished collecting the equipment, Jin went back to the dungeon core room and he immediately revived all one hundred of the skeletons that had fought in the battle.
Unluckily, they had lost their levels and had to start back from level 10 but it was only a matter of time before they got stronger once again.
