The Dungeon Of Pandemonium - Volume 1 Chapter 18 Fourth Floor
When Jin finished talking with Iris he started to build the new floor. He used more than half of the day just to set up the different items needed in this new floor and used the other half to summon the monsters and place them all around the floor in strategic locations.
He worked extremely hard all day long in order to prepare for the upcoming fight. They didn’t know what to expect so, they prepared as much as possible.
One thing was in Jin’s favour and that was that the villagers on the first floor would fight with some monsters before they could start getting down to the second floor.
Since the beasts were only coming to the dungeon for the trial and their goal was the dungeon in itself, they would totally ignore the villagers and suffer big losses thanks to it.
After working for the entire day for the new floor, Jin was feeling tired so he just went to sleep and started working the next day as well.
The first thing he did was to go visit the new floor. It was completely necessary to at least visit the floor to know the path the beast would take two days later.
Since Jin had created the fourth floor, he had exchanged the fourth floor and the ‘house floor’. As such the house floor was further down compared to the monster floor.
On the fourth floor, Jin had placed the most important zombies at the most important spaces. Like, the zombie lord was at the center of floor and he was able to have all the zombies under his control.
The specials zombies like the ones having a virus on them were also placed at the four corner of the floor. One had to follow the pathway to get to the floor to the next level and the four virus zombies were placed in order to make the most damage.
As for the revenant, there was one with every virus zombies to protect them while they did their little deadly miracle.
With all of these monsters placed and the coffins, hills and holes randomly placed around the floor made it seem really hard for the enemies to move which simplified the job for the monsters.
All in all, Jin was really proud of his new floor. It was certain that with this, the beast’s tide would be way easier.
Now, he only had to prepare and have the three girls support the monsters and survive until the end as the last line of defence.
On the first floor, some hunters started to take notice of the decrease in number of beasts.
Normally when they hunted, they wouldn’t have any problems to pick on the trace of a beast however, right now it was almost like the beasts had all left the forest to go to one exclusive area.
Of course, these hunters knew this was nonsense has normally they would fight each other. But, this was still a worrying situation.
When the chief heard of this situation, he pondered a little before asking the hunters too stay on the lookout in case the beasts were to come all in one go.
He had once read of a similar situation happening and in the end, the beasts had all stormed at the same place. Well, the record of this situation hadn’t mentioned where it had happened. However, he still had some fear that the target was going to be the dungeon.
With this situation, he increased the number of hunters looking the surrounding of the cave and had has mission to report any movement from the beast.
With all of this happening, two days passed in a flash and finally the day for the beast tide arrived.
With all the preparation that he had done in the few past days, he was extremely confident.
He had even bought a few magic items in order to strengthen his monsters if necessary. The two items were tier three magic items and they could boost the attack power by 10% for five minutes of all the allies in the radius of the magic which was basically all the floor.
While 10% for five minutes might seem extremely little, when you have more than two hundred monsters being boosted by 10% this was a completely different story.
With this, he was certain of his victory. And finally the day of the trial arrived.
‘Notification: The trial – beast tide will start in two hours of time. Please get ready for the trial. The dungeon’s masters won’t have access to the dungeon core to buy items, summon monsters or create a new floor so finish everything before the end of the next two hours.
With this notification, the cool-down started and everyone including the mindless monsters like the skeletons and zombies got ready to get in a fight.
Jin didn’t understand how the skeletons and zombies who couldn’t understand the situation could get ready for the fight. Was it a vibe or something? Well, no matter, they were getting ready for the fight and that was the important part.
Iris sent the three girls who had been training tirelessly in the second floor where they would provide support before going to the third to do the same and finally fall back at the fourth floor were they would get serious and kill the remaining beast from the trial.
As everyone was getting prepared, Jin and Iris sat down in a sofa in the living room and made the four floor appear on the television that Jin had bough in order to look at the situation on the floors.
Yes! A television. He had found one in the dungeon’s core miscellaneous objects section for a measly 500 GP. This made it possible for him to look at the four floors at the same time without having to change the floor with his map.
It was an object that he was quite happy to have found has it made it possible for him too look at every part of his dungeon without having to look at red and green dots on the map. The television had a bird vue of the entire floor which made it way more easy for him to see everything.
Now that they were seated and the monsters were ready, even the hunter’s that had worked as spies outside the cave had come back inside and they had closed the gates to protect themselves.
It was finally time to start the trial.
‘Notification: The trial will begin in…’
