- Volume 1 Chapter 20 Trial Versus Third And Fourth Floor
‘Booom!’
At the moment the beasts walked on the third floor, a loud explosion blasted them right in their faces, killing a dozen of them in one hit.
And while the smoke was still covering them, the three girls who had just launched the magic ran towards the next monsters.
It didn’t take a long time before the animals get over the explosion and charge towards the group of monster.
Just like in the previous floor, the beasts tried to beat the ghosts with brute force. However, compared to the skeletons, the ghosts were way faster.
With this, the slow serpents and boars had no way of hitting them. The only disadvantage was that the ghost died more easily.
The leopards just like in the previous floors used the other monsters has bait while they killed the monsters and moved further inside the dungeon without many losses.
Jin who was looking at the scene had a complex expression on his face as he looked at the cunning leopards.
Were they supposed to be so intelligent in the first place?
Jin didn’t believe so. As such, there must be someone or something controlling and giving them orders from afar. And right when he said it out loud, a leopard at least twice the size of the normal ones entered the dungeon.
On the first floor, the villagers who saw that were frightened silly. They all backed towards the wall as the mighty beast just walked towards the tunnels with a proud look kn his face.
“Oh crap… I jinxed it.”
It was at this moment that Jin knew that he messed up. He hadn’t planned for some kind of boss level beast to be in the beast tide… But, now that he took carefully about it, it was normal in some way. If not, the trial would mostly be a joke.
Iris immediately went to get the three girls to back at the fourth floor, the zombie floor as the boss level beast was quickly going down the floors.
By the time the girls backed down to the fourth floor, the beasts had mostly cleaned up the third one. Of course, not without it’s losses.
The boars had been completely annihilated, the serpents has well. The only remaining beasts were ten wolves and around sixty leopards plus the boss.
With these numbers, it was easy to see that the last beast were conserving their forces.
And finally, they entered the fourth floor where the final battle would happen.
However, the zombies were perfect in order to clean up the beasts number since some of them were poisoned. As long as a beast bit into them, they would get badly poisoned and die easily.
Of course, normally, the adventurers would only slash them down with their swords so they wouldn’t be poisoned unless they were bitten. And normally it wouldn’t be deadly. I mean, who would eat a part of the zombie except the beasts?
As such, their numbers started to plummet as they started to fall one after another.
“Ouf! It was a great idea to mix in the poisoned zombies in the fourth floor or we would have been in serious trouble.”
He started to talk to himself because he was way to panicked until a moment ago.
With the beasts dying one after another, the monsters finally had the advantage as they started to struggle free from the encirclement.
The three girls plus Iris who had joined in the fight were fighting head to head with the wolves and leopards in order to give the zombies some breathing room.
With them in the mix, they truly had no chance of winning unless they got reinforcement.
And of course, the moment the last of the wolves died, the leopard leader made his appearance.
The zombie truly didn’t offer any resistance as they died extremely fast.
Alma,Mika and Venus immediately went towards the boss and took him further away to give a chance fo the zombies to take the advantage again.
Unluckily, they were a little to late as the beasts manage to maintain a status quo.
Seeing this, Jin smiled. He left the sofa and went towards the door. He took the magical scrolls he had previously bought and released his transformation.
Automatically, his horns reappeared, little scales that looked like the scales of a dragon appeared on his arms. And his nails grew longer and stronger. His body didn’t change more however, his strength augmented and now he could probably go head to head with the boss in terms of strength alone.
He didn’t waste more time as the zombies were being decimated on the fourth floor. Running up the stairs, it didn’t take long for him to arrive at the battle scene.
At his arrival, the leopards paid attention to him and feeling his strength, didn’t go attack him and they stayed fighting the simple-minded zombies.
Upon arriving, Jin took out a magic scroll and activated it boosting the attack power of all his allies by 10% for five minutes.
This small boost helped to tilt the balance of the fight as the zombies once again took the advantage and started killing more of the beasts.
Among them, only thirty beasts remained plus the boss. However, they were all elites that were more difficult to deal with and on the zombies side there were maybe twenty left?
Jin went towards the boss while saying to the four girls to go help on the zombie side. Of course, the boss wanted to keep them busy to give help to his minions but he knew that the one in front of him was truly strong.
The girls left while Jin and the leopard boss started a stare-down. None of them moving while looking at each other and the rest of the two groups fighting each other.
The boss made a small movement, and seeing the look in Jin’s eyes, he knew that whatever movement he made was seen through.
The boss couldn’t wait any longer as his kin were getting decimated and the longer he waited the more at a disadvantage he was.
He looked at Jin and both of them prepared to start the fight.
