The Dungeon Of Pandemonium - Volume 1 Chapter 35 New Floor
With everything that happened, Jin felt obligated to create at least one new floor. It was soon going to be the next trial of the month so it was a good idea to improve his dungeon.
It didn’t take long before a new floor appeared between the house floor and the fourth one.
Jin immediately created different tunnels and just like every other floors, he made the wall, ceiling and floor indestructible.
With this the basic were completed however, this time he added mountains on the floor. He made the ceiling of the dungeon higher than normal and with the mountains, it was perfect for a flying monster type.
He was done with the skeletons as he had only used them because it was cheeper to use at the beginning.
With the new popularity of the dungeon, he figured it was time to diversify it.
In a mountain type floor, the most common monster would be harpies but he didn’t intend to have them appear in his dungeon for now. As such, he planned to summon four-winged eagle.
This especially powerful bird was at another level from the previous skeletons as they had more speed compared to the slow skeletons. They could also obviously fly in the air and had more intelligence than the repetitive skeleton.
As such, this floor would give a challenge for higher levelled adventurers. The four-winged eagle had a strength level from the mid twenties to the mid-thirties but with their mobility, there would be a need for a group of strong adventurer’s to take them down.
As such, it was a perfect choice as this would diversify the dungeon and increase the number of people interested in coming in the dungeon. While skeletons were fine, at some point it was getting boring for adventurer’s.
He had heard some of them mention it before and he obviously had to agree with them. He didn’t like very much skeletons.
With around a hundred four-winged eagles in the new floor, it would keep the people happy and busy. For the weak four kingdoms, it would be nearly impossible to beat this floor for the moment.
But of course, he wasn’t done. He added pitfalls on the ground and added some rolling boulders in some locations in the mountains.
But one of the greatest thing was the leader of the eagles was a six-winged eagle. Compared to the four-winged he was on an entirely different level.
This monster would be the last line of defence for the fifth floor.
One could say that the four previous floors were just a small taste of what he would offer in the future.
Also, thanks to the king’s bringing business to his door, he could easily say that he was quite rich in GP at the moment.
Since this floor was more difficult, of course he wouldn’t be cheap about it. At the bottoms of the mountains, he made different kind of herbs appear which could be used in alchemy. And of course, at the top was a rarer one.
With everything said and done he was quite proud of himself.
When he finished making the floor, he went back to the house floor and sent Venus, who was keeping track of the different floor of the dungeon, tell that the new floor was released and that they could now enter the fifth floor.
Thinking about this, Jin had the impression of running a business which could be considered quite successful. Well, he believed it to be the case.
There was only a need for beverage and food and it would be quite a profitable business! He laughed at his own thoughts and sent off Venus.
Looking at the first floor, he saw the vampire talking with the kings before turning around and teleporting back in the dungeon.
Jin had installed a teleportation system in the dungeon so that they could enter any floor they wished whenever they wanted. This helped when one wanted to go somewhere in the dungeon.
With everything that happened, Jin was finally done for the day. He was quite tired and didn’t want to meet anymore humans for the next few days as he still wanted to make more floors in the dungeon before the trial.
He blocked the teleportation talisman and decided to go to work the next day.
1st year, 1st month, 26th day
It had been a few days since he had closed the teleportation talisman from the king’s and in these few days he had completed more floors.
He didn’t want to make new floors for a while so, he made five new ones.
He originally hadn’t planned on making this many but with the increase in the people, he believe it wouldn’t be long before strong adventurer’s made their way in the dungeon.
In the sixth and seventh floor, he had kept winged monsters. The first one was mountain birds while the seventh was a mix from the fifth and sixth floor.
Well, he believed that it might be a problem to keep the same monsters but what could he say? He didn’t have any inspiration so he just used them again.
As for the eight and ninth floor, he created a water floor. There was a lots of small paths bringing to different place in the dungeon and the monsters were mostly hidden in the ocean.
This brought a new trial for the humans as they needed to keep their footings on the water while fighting against the monsters.
Of course, Jin didn’t want to keep the people out of these new floors so he made the monsters quite weak. This way, they wouldn’t get killed whenever some adventurer entered the floor.
On the eight floor were sea serpents which could throw a water jet from their mouth to make the people fall in the water. The beat way to counter would be to use a bow.
As for their magic stones? Easy! They floated on the water so when the monster died, Jin made it so the magic stone would float on the water toward the adventurer. Of course, after some time he would have the magic stone sink in the ‘ocean’ this way one couldn’t just kill and than collect everything.
As for the ninth floor, he placed mermaids and mermaid on some rocks in the middle of their ocean. With a sun in the sky, they were actually quite happy and insisted on keeping a rock when Jin wanted to make something better for them.
Of course, one thing he did was to give a shirt for the mermaids as he didn’t want to start a show for the adventurers. However, for the mermen, he didn’t bother as it seemed to be quite normal for men to go shirtless.
Also, if it could encourage the female adventurer’s or homos.e.x.u.a.l adventurer’s than that was a great plus!
When the adventurer’s would learn about this floor, they would all try to get there and there would most likely have more adventurer’s entering the dungeon. It was a win-win situation for him. On one side, more people would enter the dungeon on the other, the people would go deeper in which would mean more space for more people. That was perfect.
On the tenth floor, he made a free floor once again where there were trees, hills, a sun and crystals that reflected the sunlight.
The crystal themselves were totally worthless so he wasn’t scared of the adventurer’s trying to destroy and take them back with them.
However, he did mention to everyone that the eleventh floor was off limit even if the tenth was a free floor.
He had no choice but to summon two gargoyle that would be on a pillar on each side of the entrance of the eleventh floor to block them from entering or to signal Jin that some were trespassing.
After everything was done, a notification sounded in the dungeon core which made Jin face sink.
“Dungeon notification: The next trial will start in three days. The trial is : …”
