The Dungeon Of Pandemonium - Volume 1 Chapter 37 Trial Gp Collection
Three days later, the notification finally came.
“Dungeon notification: the last trial shall start in one hour. The trial name is collection. The goal of this trial is to collect double the amount one would normally gain in a day. No external help may be used in the trial time.”
“…Iris? You know… we are in deep sh*t…” Jin couldn’t stop himself when he heard the dungeon notification.
Normally, Jin believed it wouldn’t be too hard for a dungeon to double the amount of GP one made in a day. However, their dungeon was a little bit special. They had let outsiders enter it and their daily GP was extremely high. Ever since, the kings had all made the dungeon public and the tenth floor was finished, the number of people living in the dungeon had skyrocketed.
Knowing that he only had a single day to make double the normal amount of GP, especially this high amount was extremely hard if not impossible.
Jin didn’t wait a second before calling for everyone else to the conference room on the house floor. Yes, Jin had built an immense conference room in the middle of the forest. He liked this type of secret house and figured it would be great for the future when he needed to meet a lot of monsters in the dungeon.
“Venus, go call everyone. I need everyone right at this moment.”
She didn’t wait a second before leaving towards the training floor. Theses last days, she had worked with Jin a lot as his maid and secretary. As such, she approximately knew every of his expression and this was the one of panic so, she didn’t dare to be slow.
She made the food and looked over the dungeon for him when he had other things to do like creating the other floors. Iris which was the original owner of the dungeon and his partner had completely abandoned the position. It was easy to see how she hated this role.
It didn’t take long before everyone was at the conference room. Jon, Iris, Venus, Mika, Alma, Lilliana, the six-winged eagle which could surprising talk telepathically. Don’t ask how it did, he had no ideas. The leader of the harpies which had been named Kaiya by Jin.
As for the others? It was hard to have them help on the conferences… the skeletons were well.. skeletons, they didn’t really think. The ghouls? Ghosts? Yeah.. No chance at all. As for the other species, they all had their small problems which would make them unable to help in the talks.
So, with these members which all sat in the room which was way too big, Jon started to talk about the trial.
“Hi, thanks for coming. We received the trial and it is the GP collection like Iris had predicted. However, the small problem is that the GP collection is totally different than what we thought.”
“We believed that we would just have to collect a certain number of GP in a certain amount of time. The trial is almost the same but the amount of GP needed to be collected his the exact double from our daily collect. In other words, we get close to a million of GP each day so we need to make two million in the next twenty four hours.”
When Jin finished talking, everyone was silent and were all thinking deeply.
Mika was the first one to talk except for Jin in the meeting room. “So? What’s the problem?”
Everyone else looked at her weirdly. Even Kaiya who had a great friendship with her looked a little puzzled. She was wondering if she had always been this… How to say it gently… Stupid.
“Well, Mika the problem is that I have no idea how to double to amount of GP in one day. If it had been around ten thousand than I would have managed something but to double a million isn’t really easy.”
“How about we use items to exchange for GP in the dungeon? We have a grand collection of gold from the kingdoms. We could use it to make the extra GP?”
Lilliana proposed this solution before anyone could talk. Everyone’s faces lit up when they heard that suggestion but everything was going to change when Jin replied to them.
“Impossible. This count as external help as well.”
“I truly have no idea.” This answer was given at the same time by almost everyone at the same time. They all looked at each other and looked down in shame. Their ultimate mission was to protect the dungeon and they couldn’t even help for the trial.
“Eum? Like I said what is the problem?”
Once again, Mika spoke up and everyone felt it was odd for her to ask the same question two times in a row. She was sometime a little bit stupid. However, not that much.
“As I was saying…” He couldn’t finish his sentence before she interrupted him.
“It’s quite easy actually. Did you forgot where we are? Please, don’t answer a dungeon. I mean where is our dungeon? And what was our first trial…? We just have to kill monsters.”
“Oh! You mean to kill the monsters in the forest to make more GP for the trial! It’s such a good idea! Most importantly there is nothing wrong with cleaning up the monsters! They are like c.o.c.kroaches, when one comes there are seven following behind. Thanks to it, we won’t be missing the monsters to kill! Perfect! Girls take everyone from the training floor and go hunt down the monsters!”
Jin couldn’t keep the excitement in his heart. He had truly thought he would be in a mess but it was actually easily solved. Well, he didn’t feel too bad since only Mika though about this answer but still, he felt pretty bad for not thinking about it. And with a frown on his face, Jin added another order for Venus.
“Oh and Venus? Go and warn the people on the first floor about what is going to happen, I wouldn’t want them to fight the monsters…”
With this, everyone immediately left. From the time Jin received the dungeon notification, forty-five minutes had passed by so by the time to prepare for the expedition and leaving they would be a little bit after the start of the trial.
Jin wouldn’t leave the dungeon as he had to protect it and he kept Venus with him. Not that he needed company but he believed that there would be some dumb adventurer’s who would take this chance to push their luck.
He would learn later that day that all his worries were for nothing. No one yet could go pass the ninth floor with the mermaids and merman’s and go on the tenth floor.
The girls went to the training floor and got everyone to get prepared. There was actually not a lot to prepare, they just entered their formation. Yes, once again Iris had surprised jin by having the monsters train a formation for battle. While it seemed useful, it was actually totally useless but still right now it didn’t seem to bad when they walked pass him.
The monster’s formation created by Iris gave him chills. It was just too awesome. He couldn’t wait to see the expression of the people on the first floor. At this moment, Venus had finished warning them and they were actually all excited to see the strength of the supposed elite team of the dungeon.
Some adventurer’s were bragging to the females while others were looking nervously with both fear and excitement. There was actually a lof of them who wanted to see the elite team. They were all looking at the entrance of the second floor.
The awesome monster’s formation was made with the dark elves in the front. They were used as spies and assassin’s thanks to their high speed and agility as well as their bows. So, the dark elves were actually a little bit in front of the formation.
In the main formation, the nymphs and dryads were mixed in the two sides with space in the center. Of course, they were all following a ‘^’ formation so, at the frontmost position was of course the dragon lady, Lilliana in her true form.
The nymphs were gliding on the floor thanks to their control over the water and the dryads controlled the vegetation on the ground. On the exterior side of the formation were the salamanders which could block attacks with their strong scales and their high heat.
Of course, without forgetting the harpies that were flying in the air above the formation. However, they didn’t fly in the ‘^’ formation like Iris wanted them to because they said that this was a bird formation. They truly didn’t like being compared to birds.
So, they were mostly flying in their own way by at least looking everywhere around to be sure not to be ambushed.
Finally, Mika, Alma and Iris were sat down on Lilliana who liked to have people ride her. Yes… ride her. Like having someone on her when she was flying or walking in her dragon form. They all had revealed their real forms. Mika and Alma seemed like the same but their pupils colours and form changed to a heart like shape. It had surprised Jin when he first saw them but he felt that it was kind of normal considering their power? And the aura they released completely changed when they showed their eyes. L.u.s.t would come over any humans looking at them.
For Iris part, she showed her demonized form with her horns and all. In Jin’s view, it weirdly made her more attractive. Not that he had any feelings for her, he only felt like she looked better with her horns.
And so, they finally started climbing the stairs to the first floor…
