- Volume 1 Chapter 45 Battling The Dungeon Master
In the small room inside the central mountain was the dungeon master. He looked like an eagle however, the size was completely messed up.
Jin who was watching through the screen in the house floor with the dungeon core, immediately understood why the other dungeons of the four kingdoms hadn’t communicated with the kings. It was either that they couldn’t communicate with the humans, they didn’t have any intelligence or that they just taught too highly of themselves.
While Jin was ninety percent certain that it was the first reason, he couldn’t help but doubt the two others explanations. How would one create a dungeon without intelligence? And if they taught too highly of themselves, they were just stupid since it almost brought to the destruction of their dungeon.
‘Erm… Finally… Yeah there’s a chance that it’s the third explanation.’ Jin laughed by himself even if he knew that it wasn’t funny. It may have been a way to release the stress that had been acc.u.mulating in the last two weeks with the news of a war coming to the dungeon. He didn’t know how it would turn out and was thus extremely stressed out by the thought of his dungeon being destroyed.
Well, of course, Jin didn’t understand that he was the reason the dungeon of the other dungeon masters were almost destroyed since no one wanted to go to theirs anymore.
Anyway, the giant bird dungeon master was currently protecting the dungeon core with his body while being stared at by a dragon and hundreds of monsters.
One could see the scared look from the dungeon master.
While everyone was standing still wondering what to do, the dungeon master moved first and with his wings, a strong gust of wind made their way to the monsters facing it. While they didn’t thought much about the wind, once it reached them, small cuts appeared everywhere on their bodies, except the ones with scales which were only Lilliana has a dragon.
Iris made her way in front with the other leaders and with their weapons, they attacked the dungeon master.
Iris slashed with her sword towards the body of the eagle with high speed. However, by the time the sword had almost reached the body of the eagle, it brought back it’s wings in front of him and a metallic sound was heard as the wings and the sword collided together.
The wings were actually as hard as metal. She continued to attack as fast as she could while she used the long and strong nails in her left hand to attack the weak point of the monster.
While the two others were fighting, Mika circled around the big bird and she attack from the back. She had starting using not too long ago a spear and when she pierced with it, the speed was extremely great.
The eagle was currently preoccupied with Iris in front of him as such, while he felt the attack of Mika coming, he couldn’t react in time and the spear scratched his body. He hadn’t been able to stop it but he could at least react and evade the most damage possible.
She didn’t get discouraged and with Iris the full front of the attacks from the enemy, she could attack without having of being scared of getting hit by the dungeon master.
Dungeon’s master could fight in the war battles. However, every time before one might lose his life, he would be protected by the dungeon core and this would signal the end of the battle. This was a way to give the chance of the dungeon’s master to fight with their monsters while not having the fear of dying. After all, if the dungeon master was to die, the dungeon wouldn’t be able to sustain itself in defence. As such, it would only face destruction.
However, dungeon war was to bet on monsters, GP, territory or subordination. Of course, territory was to take over the dungeon. However, it wasn’t greatly useful taking over others dungeon as it could only be used as mean of teleportation. Since both dungeon’s would be linked and the dungeon master would have to be able to be at both places.
While thinking about this, it gave Jin the idea of winning dungeon’s in all four kingdoms. This way, he could create a teleportation formation sending everyone to different dungeon, making it possible to earn gold this way, to get more GP.
He didn’t know if this idea was possible but he believed that it may be a good idea to try it later on if he had a chance.
Now, since the bet between both dungeon’s master was to give all their GP to the other dungeon master and losing two floors, the dungeon master could naturally not be killed.
As such, when Mika managed to distract the eagle with a pierce of her spear, Iris managed at the same time to send a deadly blow to the eagle. Automatically, a white light appeared from the dungeon core and protected the eagle from the attack.
At the same time a notification appeared on both dungeon core.
“Notification: Dungeon war: The winning dungeon his the dungeon of pandemonium. The winner will get the 267’935 GP the loser dungeon had and the loser dungeon will lose all his GP and two floors, the dungeon master may choose which floor to destroy.”
At the same time, the monsters that were currently invading in the enemy dungeon got teleported back to the second floor of the dungeon.
When the structure of the other dungeon appeared, Jin finally understood that he had the choice of which floor to destroy. With this, he got scared a lot since he could have lost the first floor if he had lost the war.
Since Jin still had some decency in him, he decided to destroy both the first and second floor, leaving the third floor where the other dungeon monster had mostly spent his GP to create. Not that he had any GP left to summon a monster…
With this, Jin finally finished the first war. However, he still had to take care of a few things before everything was completed.
Firstly, he had to inform people on the first floor that the war was finished and that they could go back in the dungeon. Since the monsters had already been sent back on the floor thanks to the monster houses, he didn’t have to summon back more monsters.
Secondly, he had to look at the causalities he had received on his side and summon back some more monsters to replace them. Luckily, from the few hundreds monsters he had, he believed he only lost approximately a dozen or so monsters. It was a great ratio in his favour.
Thirdly, he had to make a feast for his monsters, at least those in the elite team since the others didn’t really eat much.
And finally, he had to mention to the king of air about the news from what was left of the dungeon number 17. Since there wasn’t any monsters left, he believed it may be a good idea for them to take over the dungeon. Who knows what might happen?
Anyways, he had a lot to do. Truly, a dungeon war was a pain to deal with.
