The Dungeon Of Pandemonium - Volume 1 Chapter 6 Transformation
When Iris woke up in the morning and saw the red dots on the first floor, just like Jin had been, she was totally surprised however after seeing Jin relaxed expression, she calmed down one way or another.
Ever since Jin had accepted to become a dungeon master with her, of course she would trust him in the protection of the dungeon because if the dungeon core was destroyed, they were both going to die.
Especially after his plan to make people come in the dungeon she was even more sure that he truly wanted the dungeon to become stronger. Otherwise he wouldn’t have worked so hard to create the dungeon.
After thinking up to this point and looking the map of the dungeon, she turned to look at Jin and it’s at this moment that she saw it.
Jin had actually, just like her, small horns on the top of his head. Of course, a demon would have horns unless they were of the weaker side of the race.
She looked more closely at Jin to see if there was any other changes. Normally, demons would have longer nails and some little scales that could be seen on the arms. Their pupil would look more like a snake pupil and they would have greater strength compared to a human.
Of course, demons were able to hide these changes easily just by thinking of it but there was no way that Jin had already figured it out as such if there was some changes to him she would be able to see it immediately.
As she looked more closely, Jin looked at her strangely. “Iris? What are you doing?”
“Erm? I’m looking to see if there are any other changes…” she answered without even thinking and she explained the situation to him.
“So… I transformed into a demon and now I have horns? Oh well, who cares anyway?”
The answer he gave her was totally out of her expectations as she fell in a daze while looking at him. He totally seemed like he didn’t care one bit about his transformation.
While Jin answered her, he continued to look at the monster’s list with a frown on his face.
“What is it Jin? Is something wrong?”
“Well, I was just wondering, is the levels of the monsters really that important?”
“Well, yes of course! The level of the monsters represent their strength and their limits… By exemple, the fifty skeletons that you have summoned yesterday are all level 10 at the beginning and as long as they stay in the dungeon to absorb mana, they can gradually increase their levels. However, except for a few of the more intelligent monsters, they all have a limit to their potential and that means that they have a limit to the level they can get. Like the skeletons, they can only get to only 20 at the maximum.”
Iris tried her best to explain how the levels represented the strength of the monsters and Jin seemed to understand as he nodded his head while listening to her.
“One last thing, what is the average level of the hunters?”
“The hunters are mostly level 20 however, the strength of the humans is their intelligence which give them an advantage against stronger monsters as they can cooperate with each other.”
Jin once again nodded before turning back to the dungeon core. He immediately summoned through the core over fifty more skeletons to make it a total of a hundred of them.
He then used a long amount of time in order to strategically place all the skeletons on the floor as they could help each others as long as they were attacked.
The groups of three or four skeletons would roam the corridors and they would attack anyone who came near them. They were placed so that each group could help each other when fighting an enemy.
After he finish placing the skeletons, Jin looked at the villagers on the first floor and saw that they were still mining on the walls of the dungeon.
Since they only had tools made of wood, they didn’t get much out of mining yet. However, it would change when they would change from wood to metal. At that point, the speed of taking the ores would greatly increase.
We’ll, it didn’t really matter, since adding those ores didn’t cost much to begin with and while mining they were actually expanding the first floor for him.
When he would want to, he would just have to clean the dirt and he could make the land in the first floor of the dungeon even bigger, allowing more people to stay inside. It was like hitting three birds with one rock since he also gained GP from the miners.
On the first floor, the men’s were all working as hard as they could under the order of Gray who was the boss when the chief wasn’t there.
Some of the men were doing round trip between the “cave” and the village to bring some of the ores back and informing the chief of the situation on the floor.
When the chief heard that it wasn’t easy to transport the ores to the village and some of the men’s suggestion, he decided to move the artisans to the cave in order to make the tools there as it would be easier for them all.
He also sent more men into the cave in order to get ore faster. He was hoping to be able to make tools instead of hunting and trading the tools for food instead. It would reduce the casualties of the men who were hunting and it would bring about a suitable income to the village.
Some of the women also went to the cave in order to make food for the men’s who were working and just like that around a third of the village moved in the cave under the chief’s orders.
With some of the men out hunting, there wasn’t much people left in the village compared to before however in the chief’s view, it was a good thing.
He was even beginning to think about moving the village in the cave since it seemed that it was the perfect place to live. However, for this, he would have to go there himself and it would take more times since they didn’t really know what was the cave.
