The Dungeon Of Pandemonium - Volume 1 Chapter 7 Going To The Second Floor
1st year, 1st month, 10th day
A week after the villagers started mining in the dungeon, they started to get more and more intrigued by the existence of this place.
The hunters started to look around the tunnels and map them in order not to lose themselves.
After mapping most of the floor, they finally found the stairs that could bring them to the second floor, where the skeletons were living.
Of course, upon seeing the stairs, they were excited as they thought there would be more ores deeper in the ground.
However, a bad surprise was waiting for them. Skeletons, a high number of skeletons were patrolling the area close to the stairs but they were ignoring the people as long as they didn’t step on the second floor.
They looked at the monsters and of course, they wondered why there were monsters in this kind of place while the first floor was really pretty and devoid of monsters.
Since the people who had found the stairs were actually the hunters from the village and they had brought their weapons with them just in case they found monsters, they didn’t back up and prepared themselves for the fight.
It had been ten days since Jin had summoned the skeletons on the second floor as such their level had gotten a little bit higher and most of them were level 13 with a little amount of them being level 14.
These skeletons were a little weaker than the hunters in front of them in term of strength and strategies, but they had the numbers with them instead.
At the moment these hunters put a feet on the second floor, the skeletons with the green fire at the place of their eyes turned their head and stared at the intruders before charging at them.
Since the skeletons didn’t have any weapons with them, they could only hit with their own bones and of course, it wouldn’t do much damage against someone who had a weapon made of metal.
In the last few days, the artisans of the villagers had finally managed to complete a high number of tools and weapons for the men’s who were mining and the hunters who still had to hunt to keep food on the table.
Once the sound of a fight started, two other groups of skeletons who weren’t far from the stairs had come running since the sounds of the fight had even reached them.
Of course, against the tens of hunters, seven or eight more skeletons wouldn’t change anything as they were in the end, only skeletons and it only took a few minutes before they were all destroyed.
The skeletons had luckily managed to injure one of the hunters on the leg making it difficult for him to walk. However, he still insisted on continuing with them.
After fighting against skeletons for about an hour, they managed to get to the center of the hall on the second floor.
Of course, the second floor wasn’t made to be too strong as Jin still wanted for people to explore the dungeon in the future without having to stay on one floor.
In the center of the second floor, there was a space that would be able to hold around three hundred people. And in that hall, there were eight tunnels all going in different directions.
And of course, Jin had set up skeletons in every single of these corridors. But since the skeletons would all be killed by them, Jin decided to send his boss monster instead.
Yes, the boss monster! He had actually summoned one thanks to all the GP he had gotten from the hunter’s and villagers who had been living in the dungeon for the last few days.
He had summoned a minotaur skeleton. The skeleton of a fallen minotaur. Yes, it didn’t sound so great when he tough about it but he figured that it was the most fitting.
Since he had decided to make a dungeon of undeads and demons since he had become one, he of course only wanted to have undeads or demons in his dungeon.
However, demons costed quite a lot to summon and they could only summon lesser class demon and they were both costly and weak however in exchange they could be levelled up quite high. But, for this, he needed time and that’s not what he had much these days.
As such, he decided to go for the undeads. He wouldn’t just go with a bigger skeleton which wouldn’t change anything much since a skeleton was in the end only a skeleton.
So, he chose to minotaur skeleton. It was stronger than a normal skeleton to begin with, had different kind of attacks and further down the line, the monster wouldn’t be too strong which wouldn’t make it impossible for the future people exploring the dungeon to beat him.
With the skeletons in all of the different passages and the boss monster lurking not too far from them, the hunter’s group were actually in quite the dangerous situation without knowing it themselves yet.
For the moment, they were all in the center of the hall and they were sat on what looked like a chairs.
Of course, the chairs had been put there by Jin who believe that they would let their guards down seeing that there were no monsters close to them and that there were seats in the center of the room.
It would mostly lead them to think that they were in some kind of safe zone just like the previous floor were there were no monsters except for the will-o-wisp that were making light in the tunnels.
The hunter’s were talking joyously at their discovery of the second floor and most of them had started to understand that this was a dungeon.
“Hahaha! This is a dungeon? Even we are able to clear a floor, there’s nothing difficult! Those adventurers from the bigger cities all think they are great because they explore the floors in dungeons but look at us! We are less than them and we’re almost done looking through the entire floor!”
At these words, the other hunters laughed loudly without a care in the world, thinking that they were the best because they had beaten a few dozens skeletons.
Had they had their brains working, they would have felt that something was wrong as they made a lot of noise but no monsters were approaching them.
Of course, they tough that they were in a “safe zone” were monsters could not enter, but normally they would be able to see the monsters hitting the invisible barrier which was a safe zone in a dungeon.
But this time, there was nothing. No sound, no monsters and no safe zone.
